Pokemon meet the DS!

Advantages: Its fun and highly addictive. Also its equipped with the amazing pokemon soundtrack
Disadvantages: Some parts of the game are harder than the previous pokemon games.

...When i bought my ds all i wanted was the new pokemon. I didnt really know how good the game would be until a played it for the first time. The first point to take into consideration is the new pokemon. There are roughly 106 new pokemon in this game this includes new elvolved form of pokemon from the older games. Now onto the touch screen at the begining of the game outside of battle your touchscreen does virtually nothing in battle you can use your touchscreen to choose your pokemons attack. The one amazing feature of this game is that you can collect every pokemon that exists so far by migrating it from and old game straight to diamond. Note: you can only do this after defating the pokemon league. Another cool thing is that if you have a broadband router you can connect to the internet using the ds wi-fi and trade with anyone in...

Pokemon Platinum - Platinum Quality

Advantages: Great graphics and longevity. Online capabilities are excelent. A very fun game.
Disadvantages: Battling gets monotonous after a while; Not worth getting if you have Diamond/Pearl already

...For any fan of the pokemon series, Pokemon Platinum is an amazing and brilliant game to own. This game is the third installment to the games Pokemon Diamond and Pearl and has many more features. The storyline is similar to the other two games and to every other pokemon game which is to fight through a building filled with trainers from an evil organisation. The battles here are monotonous and not very difficult to win. This aside, the game is brilliant in terms of gameplay with many pokemon to catch and a lot of legendary pokemon to keep you busy trying to get them. Even after the game is beaten there is a lot to do, train pokemon, catch them all, battle with friends, it could never end. The graphics of this game are stunning. The Nintendo DS' 3D capabilities are really put to good use everywhere in the game and for a handheld game...

Diamond, the best Pokemon game yet?

Advantages: Hours of playability
Disadvantages: A lot of the the storylines have been done before

...and Ruby games though compared to the first Blue and Red games. The most obvious one is that now the game has progressed to the DS, there are two screens and the touchscreen has been made use of. Most of the time, the touchscreen is occupied by a new feature called the Poketch. The Poketch is meant to be a watch and has different applications you can collect for it as you progress in the game. These applications include a calculator, coin flipper and a map showing available berries. There are now berries scattered across the land which you can pick and feed to your Pokemon. The berries do various different things depending which ones you pick, some recover lost HP, others cure status changes such as burns and paralysis, others do more interesting things. These berries can also be used to make Poffins, poffins are fed to your Pokemon to help...

Pokémon Platinum Shines Better Than Diamond

Advantages: Longevity, fun, depth, better than previous installments and Diamond and Pearl
Disadvantages: I can't put it down, maybe not for those already with Diamond or Pearl

...like older games, but the story line here is constructed a lot better, and thanks to some pre-set events it adds the most drama I've seen in a Pokémon game, to really draw you in, making it a really high class game. Of course if battling isn't your favourite thing, then there is of course the collecting and raising aspect to Pokémon. Now with so many Pokémon to catch you can spend ages trying to find them all, even if you've completed the game. There are rarer Pokémon to really keep you searching until you find them all! If you still have the Pokémon Game Boy Advanced game, you may wish to know there is a feature to transfer Pokémon (albeit permanently) from these games into the Platinum DS game using the extra slot. This helps you catch all of the Pokémon possible as well as using some of your favourites from past games. (Please note...

Pokemon Pearl

Advantages: Loads of things to do, Lots of Multiplayer Features, Wi-Fi
Disadvantages: You cant possibly catch them all,

...that the game lasted even longer, and this game there is ? the Multiplayer Underground Playground, which I will explain later on. This pokemon game along with its brother game Pokemon Diamond has the emphasis on the multiplayer aspect of the game with this one with tons more features than the older games. In the GameBoy Advance versions of the pokemon games you needed a link cable to battle with you friends which would be sitting around a meter from you, but thanks to the Nintendo DS's Wireless Connection and the DS's ability to connect to WiFi you are enabled to play and battle with people on the other side of the world (or the room) without needing a wire for the console. This means that more and more people have risen and are now competing in global tournaments to see who the best player in the world is. There are more things than...

Gotta Catch Em All - Pokemon!

Advantages: See Review
Disadvantages: See Review

...Pokémon :o) As a younger child I used to love playing Pokémon on my fatty Game Boy and Game Boy Advance! And at 19 (shh!) I still do! So almost everyone has played Pokémon before or even seen the cartoon that was shown on TV years ago (yes, I watched that too!). and I'm sure everyone knows what the whole Pokémon fantasy is, and the Storyline. - The Pokémon History! - Pokémon was first released in Japan for the Game Boy all the way back in 1996. There have now been 100s of million sales of the Pokémon franchise. Originally in Pokémon, you played a young boy (you could pick his name) who was sent by a Pokémon Professor who was trying to learn about all of the Pokémon in the region you are in. Somehow you will receive your very first Pokémon from the Professor as well as a Pokedex which record information about each Pokémon you...

Pokemon keeps getting better!

Advantages: Great graphics, slightly different quest and plotlines, great new music, Wi-Fi play
Disadvantages: Not released in Europe until July 27

...I bought pokemon diamond a month ago, as an American import as it is already released there. I'll make it clear that American versions of the game are COMPLETELY compatible with the European DS consoles, including the Wi-Fi modes. The first thing that struck me when I started up the game was the difference in graphics. This game is beautiful. The view also seems to be different, but that?s hard to explain you'll have to see it for yourself. Obviously, as this game is on a completely different platform- from GBA to DS there are a lot of changes in the general game play/controls. Firstly, during battles, you now have the option to use the DS's stylus to control your pokemon moves or use a item. I really like this feature as it is fast, easy and simple. Your item bag is also arranged in a better way- you now have 4 categories to...

DS Delight

Advantages: too many to list
Disadvantages: none that ive seen so far

... How I Discovered It I knew about the DS like most other people, through word of mouth. I never had the desire to buy one until the beginning of 2008 when for some strange reason I set my heart on getting one. I think it was because I had seen the adverts for brain training on the tv a lot at this point, they were on almost every day. Then I played on my friends step-mums DS and that was it, my mind was made up, I had to have a DS, all I had to do was figure out how I was ever going to afford one. Price and Availability The DS Lite on it's own is generally Ł99.95 on it's own in most shops, obviously on some online shops/auction sites you can find it cheaper, but generally the cheapest I've seen it sell for is around Ł50. It usually works out cheaper to buy the DS as part of a bundle that includes one or more games...

A Range of Pokemon Games Now

Advantages: Enjoyable, Good Graphics
Disadvantages: Hard, Hurts hands but keeps them healthy

...So, the first Pokemon Ranger game arrived last year in EU, and to be honest, its a pretty good game. It is very very tough at times too, especially when trying to catch legendary pokemon. With some legendarys, you have to move the styler as fast as you may ever need to. Pokémon Ranger is set in the Fiore Reigion (A Reigon where you'll find all the rangers mostly). Your ambition is to become a Ranger, and that dream comes true when you go to Ringtown and your dream comes true. However, there is a sinister team named the Go-Rock Squad, and at the start, you are not told much about them unless you progress through the game, gaining ranks and styler experience. Everybody in the Fiore reigon do not keep their Pokemon in Pokeballs, so that means its easy for people's pokemon to run off, meaning you have to rescue them back. In the game...

Review of Pokemon Ranger (Nintendo DS)

Pokemon - excellent

Advantages: Great storyline - very addictive
Disadvantages: Sometimes repetitive

...I think at this stage everybody who's anybody has played Pokemon on some systems or other. But lets be honest if you have played any of them on the nintendo ds - the combination of the touch screen and gameplay is just simply fantastic. I was playing pokemon emerald gba on my ds for a while and I loved it even though I didnt have the joy of using the touch screen. But my fantastic boyfriend bought me this one as a xmas surprise and it hasnt been out of my sight since. This has different levels, new pokemon and great mini games to mess around with making this one a true diamond. GAMEPLAY The fights between pokemon are still a little annoying as the pokemon still dont move much when they are fighting. If I were to design the game I would have a bit of proper action when they are fighting to liven the fights up, as when you are...
