...From game to game the pokemon series has continued to be the same story again and again except slightly different, but the strange thing it, the more games you play, the more engrossed you become in the game. Although there doesn't seem to be anything much new for the players that have played the old pokemon games, for people that haven't played them before though there is a lot to do and to discover. The overall theme of this game is to find and capture over 150 different types of battling monsters and then fight against other trainers until you become the champion of the region. But this is just scratching the surface, with over 150 before you complete the main story and over 450 after you complete it there is little chance that you will complete it no matter how much of your time you dedicate to it. No Pearl!

Advantages: Link up with old games, wi-fi, improved graphics
Disadvantages: Bad selection of Pokemon, Boring storyline, Very little re-play value

...It seems amazing that a gaming series about keeping creatures of all shapes and sizes trapped inhumanely in balls smaller than the palm of your hand can still be running strong after nearly 10 years, and whilst I doubt that Diamond and Pearl will be the last Pokemon games ever, it is fair to say that these games show the first signs of failure. These games feature a ridiculous 493 varieties of Pokemon, and us lucky gamers get the chance to try and catch every single one of them? again...Yay? My local games store ships over games from the US, so a few weeks ago I decided to see if the new Pokemon game, of which had been given the thumbs up in America, had been imported. To my luck (or what I at first considered my luck), a copy of Pokemon Pearl rested on the shelf, so I bought, not realising that what I was buying was a game lacking...

Pokemon Platinum - Platinum Quality

Advantages: Great graphics and longevity. Online capabilities are excelent. A very fun game.
Disadvantages: Battling gets monotonous after a while; Not worth getting if you have Diamond/Pearl already

...For any fan of the pokemon series, Pokemon Platinum is an amazing and brilliant game to own. This game is the third installment to the games Pokemon Diamond and Pearl and has many more features. The storyline is similar to the other two games and to every other pokemon game which is to fight through a building filled with trainers from an evil organisation. The battles here are monotonous and not very difficult to win. This aside, the game is brilliant in terms of gameplay with many pokemon to catch and a lot of legendary pokemon to keep you busy trying to get them. Even after the game is beaten there is a lot to do, train pokemon, catch them all, battle with friends, it could never end. The graphics of this game are stunning. The Nintendo DS' 3D capabilities are really put to good use everywhere in the game and for a handheld game...

The best RPG?

Advantages: Childish but brill!

...I know pokemon on first glancemay seem like the most childish thing on the planet! When talking about the anime I would have to agree with you. The game however is another story completely. It is nothing like the anime. First and foremost it is an RPG. That stands for Role playing game! These games use strategy rather than button mashing fights. At the start of the game you go through some basics like your name, sex and a few other preferences. You are then introduced to the world the game will take place on. Your told pokemon are used to battle in tournaments or against random opponents you may encounter. There are over 200 pokemon in this game. Diamond, the best Pokemon game yet?

Advantages: Hours of playability
Disadvantages: A lot of the the storylines have been done before

The best thing about the Diamond and Pearl games is that once you have completed the game, there is still a lot more to do. You can try trading with friends or with people around the world to find new pokemon and train these up. There is also the option of importing pokemon you have caught from previous Gameboy Advance games. Battle Tower to visit, a place where you can battle against the strongest players across the world, and you can go back through the game and replay a lot of the trainers you have fought already, including the Elite Four, again and again as many times as you like. I have clocked up over 88 hours gameplay so far and have still not explored every single area! I would definitely recommend this game to people who are fans...

Pokémon Platinum Shines Better Than Diamond

Advantages: Longevity, fun, depth, better than previous installments and Diamond and Pearl

...The Pearl name is an established one within the drumming world, with many professionals choosing to use their kits. The Pearl Corporation was founded in 1946 in Tokyo, Japan and since then has grown in popularity, rising to be the household name within the drumming world that it is today. I'd say they are definitely among the best when it comes to quality, so when you see the Pearl name you can rest assured that the kit in question is well made and will sound great. I bought this kit a couple of years back now and it was definitely a great buy for me as I have got a lot of use out of it and it's still going strong. Although there are a lot of drum kits at lower prices, you tend to find that they really don't sound too great so it's definitely worth splashing out a bit of extra cash and getting something that's not going to make...
