Pollentia Club resort - a great place to stay
Advantages: Quiet, friendly, everything you could want in one resort, great pool
Disadvantages: Outside of Pollenca so difficult to go out in the evenings
...My boyfriend and I stayed at the Pollentia club resort, which is situated between Puerto Pollenca and Puerto Alcudia last summer.
It's a really lovely resort with a nice relaxed family atmosphere, and has everything you could want from a holiday on site. It has two large swimming pools (one is particularly impressive!)., tennis courts, squash courts, mini golf, table tennis, 2 restaurants and daytime and evening entertainment.
All the staff are fluent in English, Spanish and German, so you have no worries if you speak no Spanish. The all you can eat breakfast and evening buffets are excellent, but you do have to pay extra for any sort you drink with your evening meal. There is evening entertainment every night, which is good, if a little cheesy!
If you do want to leave the resort (and you could quite easily spend a week...

not bad.
Advantages: Quite alot to do.
Disadvantages: If you stay in Pollenca there is nothing to do.
...I got back from Mallorca about two weeks ago, and its in my opinion not bad. I stayed in a villa with my family in Pollenca. Pollenca is not a very good place a tall and if your looking for some entertainment at night i would choose Pollenca. The place to go is either Porte de Alcudia, Alcudia or porte de Pollenca. This is if you stay around the Pollenca part of the island and not the other side where places of entertainment are in Magaloffe. But with there being Go-karting and water parks it isnt that bad. In my opinon staying in a hotel would be more exciteing. 4/5....

Hoppin' all over the world
Advantages: weather (most of the time), beach, good atmosphere
Disadvantages: weather (occasionally), nothing significant if you stay in the right place
...I've been quiet for so long with AS Levels and work that I had alot to say. Now I've said it.
Its now 9 days since we got home from Mallorca, and I'm not going to pretend that I can tell you everything about Mallorca, but as it happens theres no category for Puerto Pollenca, where we stayed.
If you're unlucky, then the first thing that hits you about this island is how big the airport is. We had to walk miles (no really, miles) from our plane to the baggage reclaim...and they'd got it wrong as well, two planes coming in from Manchester at the same time spells trouble. Who can blame them really, Palma de Mallorca airport is the second busiest airport in the world I heard, and the biggest in Spain.
Mallorcas an interesting place as well. I think theres genuinely something here for everyone actually.
If you're teenagers looking...

Cala D'or
Advantages: Great Weather - Lots to do
Disadvantages: None
...expect with the amount of coastline on Cala D'or. There is also lots to see, such as the fantastic Dragon Caves just a short drive away and the famous pirates show, which although is in Magalluf is quite easily accessible if you rent a car. I would recommend renting a car even just for a couple of days like we did when I went as it really adds to your Majorcan experience.
Also, because Mallorca is such a small island, you can quite easily travel to the other end of the island for just a day trip. There is great shopping in Palma, a vibrant nightlife in Magalluf and fantastic restaurans and scenery in Porta de Pollenca. Overall I would highly recommend Cala D'or as a holdiay destination for people of all ages. I enjoy it as a teenager, but also my parents and older siblings did aswell....

James Villa Holidays
Advantages: Great properties, unique experiences, wonderful holidays.
Disadvantages: None - although might not be suitable for all travelers
...Over the past 3 years we have used James Villa Holidays six times. Our initial experience was in Gale, Algarve; we went on to stay in La Font, Pollença, Mallorca three times; and more recently have stayed at La Boheme in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote and Forteza in Kalami, Crete.
Our first taste of James Villas was in a 2 bedroom apartment in Gale, Algarve. The apartment itself was spacious and well maintained, with a large patio, fully equipped kitchen and TV/Satellite unit in the comfortable living room. Although the choice of English-language channels was limited, one doesn?t generally go on holiday to sit in front of the idiot box, and as we understand a modicum of German, the German MTV channel was most entertaining. As is the norm in our experience with James Villas, the supplied literature concerning the accommodation and local area...

Mallorca - the Isle of Dreams
Advantages: there's so much to see, beautiful landscape
Disadvantages: none
...possibilities as well.
The huge Serra de Tramuntana in the north-west part of the island is perfect for hiking, just like the regions around Alcudia and Pollenca where you?ll be able to choose between a great number of amazing routes.
If you?re not really into hiking, you might choose to explore the beautiful nature on a bycycle tour which is very popular on Mallorca, too. Most cyclists prefer to visit the island in autumn or spring, because at that time the weather is nice and warm, but not as hot as during the summer months, so that makes you enjoy the landscape and climate even more. You can do bycycle tours all around the island, though the area around Alcudia is especially popular due to the flat land and many different bike routes.
Mallorca is a paradise for golfers as well, not only for the ?upper 10.000?. When it comes to...

Good and Bad Location? Depends on your view....
Advantages: Location, Food, Beach Proximity, Staff, All Inclusive benefits
Disadvantages: After-Hours Facilities, Location
...do try to see Soller and Port Soller, Palma (especially the Cathedral), and Cap De Formentor. There are loads of amazing places for views on Majorca, but one of the best is the mountain road from Port Pollenca to Soller! It is Stunning!! Try and get to one of the local markets too, and don't be afraid to haggle. Start off ridiculously low, and traders soon come down to an agreeable price.
GENERAL INFO
A big drawback for us as a young group, was the lack of nightlife close by. The bar closes at 11.45pm, and some nights you just don't want to go to bed. So if you want nightlife that doesn't stop until the sun comes up, then try the BelleVue area. There are plenty of clubs, pubs and restaurants. Bells club is worth a visit for reasonable drinks and music, or go into Alcudia and find one of the many bars or clubs that stay open till late...
