...I bought my Polti steam cleaner around two years ago, then priced at £299, including the iron attachment and can honestly say it was worth every penny. It looks rather like a large red cylinder vacuum cleaner, with a long electric lead and vacuum cleaner like attachments. On first unpacking everything, it may seem a little daunting at first. These explain just how the Polti uses the power of steam, without any chemicals or cleansers, to remove dirt from almost anywhere in your home. WHY I BOUGHT IT: After struggling with a heavy, cumbersome wet carpet cleaner, I still wasn't happy with the results. ...My first introduction to the Polti Vaparetto was at Downtown Superstore, Grantham. Lincs. I was having a browse around and came across a demonstration of this steam cleaner. This machine cleaned everything imaginable and it was all done by steam with no addition of detergents and chemicals , thus sterilising as you go. When the lady demonstrator got to the ironing part she was suddenly enveloped in clouds of billowing steam and when it came to ironing shirts, she just hung them on a hanger and pointed the iron at them and, viola, creases dropped out as if by magic. I am a demonstrator's dream as I only have to look and I see, I lust, I crave and if cash permits, I buy. Advantages: The sense of absolute cleanliness after using the Polti is unmatched with any other product.
Disadvantages: It is quite a bulky item, like a vacuum cleaner, so needs its own storage space.

...I bought this product a few years ago and can only say that if you don't much like housework but like a clean house then this is the product for you. The high temperature steam, delivered through brushes (protected by towel "baggies") means that dirt is immediately lifted off surfaces - floors, countertops etc) and the baggies themselves are washable as towels so completely re-usable. Small brush-heads mean you can lift hard deposits in ovens quite easily, and if defrosting is still a necessity then the speed with which this is achieved is just marvellous. The window cleaning squeegee attachments are brilliant - windows and mirrors have never seemed so clean! In hard water areas the addition of CalStop prevents limescale buildup and the Polti mail order service for phials of this product is very efficient..... Read review

...I now think, after owning my Polti 2100R for about 2 - 3 years, that I could become a saleswoman! I initially bought this, as I knew from researching various brands of steam cleaners, that Polti are regarded as the leader in the market and I had got very interested in the concept of steam cleaning and it's supposed versatility and effectiveness. I looked around carefully, comparing prices and eventually managed to get mine for £ 235 at Makro, and that included the iron, which to my mind, is an essential part of my Polti system. The unit is quite compact, like a cylinder vacuum cleaner, and comes with a large floor cleaner to which you attach a cloth provided or any old bits of rag you have around. Polti is an Italian manufacturer, the headquarters are near Como in Northern Italy. I have had my steam cleaner for a couple of years and would not like to be without it, as it has become very useful to me, all over the house. At first sight it looks very similar to a cylinder vac, but it actually does a very different job. It weighs a little less than my vacuumn cleaner, pulls along easily on it's wheels, and has very simple controls. It uses tap water and produces dry steam at a temperature of 120 degrees centigrade. Polti are the main manufacturers of small steam cleaning appliances, their headquarters are in Como Northern Italy. ...I bought a wonderful cleaner. A vaporetto steam cleaner. This little machine is a marvel it cleans anything. I boughjt it originally to clean my carpets. It cleans them without leaving any ,marks or getting them wet. It cleans, sterilises and deodorises anything. IHighly reccomend it if you have animals, children, a kitchen or a bathroom. It is the easiest way to defrost your freezer, clean a greasy cooker, diinfect the toilet,or worktops, unblock sinks, and clean anywere without nasty chemicals.I have used it to clean the carpets after spilling coffee, no stains left. It cleans windows, tiles baths.In fact I haven't found anything that it will not clean. It works by generating a stream of high pressure steam, the safe thing is that only the 1" from the end of the tool gets hot, as soon as you are away from the end no heat or danger.... Read review

...The day I bought my Polti Vaporetto I had actually intended buying a standard carpet cleaner. I have two little boys, aged 2 and 5, and lets just say my carpets, walls, curtains and furniture had seen better days. Chocolate, ribena, yogurt, paints...all manner of substances had managed to find themselves transpersed throughout the house despite my best efforts to keep my two angels under control. Living in a rented house at the time, and becoming increasingly worried about the state of the carpets - and the prospect of having to replace them - I went out with the intention of buying a carpet cleaner. However, once in the shop I found myself perusing the steam cleaners and wondering if they really did the magical things I had seen on the TV adverts. ...I have read numerous reviews on the Polti & on the whole they appear to be good, I am only presuming I must be doing something wrong! I have owned my Polti for nearly three years, every so often I reject a thought of taking it to a boot sale (mainly because of how much it cost me) and instead have another go at cleaning my house, full of optimism & with a great deal of steam.... I was recommended this ' absolutely amazing piece of equipment by a friend of a friend, I didn't know her very well at the time & have just presumed ever since that she obviously didn't like me much. I must admit that I do not own an iron attachment, which does sound to be pretty sensational but the kit I do own is basically useless.
