Cisco IP-Phone 7941
Advantages: works well, has all features expected from a modern phone, easy user interface
Disadvantages: head phones are very expensive
...I have this phone on my desk and it is really excellent. I don't have any problems. It looks like new and it is used every working day.
The user interface is very easy and intuitive.
The phone has a small light which is red when the phone rings. This is great becuase all my colleagues have the same phone and sometimes we don't know which phone rings. In addition it is possible to change the ring tone.
The display has big letters, you may see what was the last missed calls.
You may forward the call to an other number.
Nothing is missing - all functions are there. I didn't manage to create my own phone book but maybe because this is an IP phone.
The phone fell on the floor more than one time and it is still working.
The speakerphone works well and you may set the volume and save the settings.
There are some variants with a colour...

Cisco IP Phone 7941
Advantages: ease of use, strong, durable, linking into GAL, remote managment and upgrades from call manager.
Disadvantages: Call quality is dependant on quality of the Network. Duplex settings, over utilized network, etc
...In my experience with the Cisco IP phone 7941, which has been for 5 years or so, has been nothing but pleasure. There features to link into AD and the ability to log onto any phone in the building and look up a user on the GAL on AD is very handy indeed. Call Transfer,Conference, Mute are the standard features.
The Phones will have to be set up to work with a call manager, Which is a centre point to manage the phones, and has the ability to record conversation for quality control, etc.
They have 2 options when it comes to powering these phones, on is to buy a power adapter, the other is to buy a Cisco Switch that can supply power to the phones via Ethernet.
They are strong and reliable, they have been used as call centre phones, and we know what kind of abuse they would be put through in that environment.
All in all, i would rate...

My exprience with Mitel 5212 IP Phone
Advantages: Reliable Phone
Disadvantages: average costumer support and i hate the display screen :P
...My 3 year experience with this phone was awesome; I have never seen such a phone with so many options. This dual port, multi-line display IP speakerphone provides user-programmable access to the features and applications enabled by Mitel IP-based IP Communications Platforms. You can configure all 12 key for different options like i.e. your headsets, DND,prefix and lot more. You need a Mitle license to make it work with Mitel PBX. Per license cost almost 200$ per channel and phone cost you around 400$.
You can use this Phone without Mitel as well using SIP protocol and you don't need any license t some of the function might don't work for you if using with other technology as I am still digging out how to use the programmable keys with asterisk PBX or directly using any long distance carrier . You can configure this phone using Web GUI...

canon pixma ip100
Advantages: portable printer and fast Printing speed
Disadvantages: none
...Canon continues to be a product of the successful Pixma portable inkjet printers with iP100 Canon ink and the number to be doubled to a maximum resolution of 4800x1, 200dpi color. As a result, I have seen a significant increase in speed and print quality, the portable iP100 competitive with even some full-size printer. I prefer this Canon for low profile, a fast print speed, improving the cartridge and the overall flexibility of this printer.
While the iP100 same physical profile, single cartridge system has been absolutely perfect. First remove the top iP100 of the total number of jets 1088-1856. Compared with 1072 the jets in H470 and you'll see why the Canon more than a full model for HP in its class, the printer is more competitive. How iP90v and the iP90, which allows users to adjust their economic cartridges life with two...

Canon Pixima IP4300
Advantages: Easy to set up, good quality picture and text output.
Disadvantages: Could have better written manual
...Around the beginning of April, I switched on my old and trusted Epson 880 and went to print out a page, nothing happened. Nothing that is, except all the lights across the front of the machine flashing on and off. A quick reference to the handbook took me to the page that read, ?If all lights are flashing, there is an internal fault. Please contact a qualified Epson engineer?. Well it was getting on for 10 years old and had served me well, so I decided it was time for a new printer.
I was fully intending to get another Epson, but the sales assistant in PC World advised me that a the Canon IP4300 was a far better buy, and would be far cheaper to run than any of the Epsons. After he showed me some of the photographic results, I was sold and I got to admit, I am very pleased with my purchase.
On getting the printer home, I found it...

The best iPod / Phone!
Advantages: unbelivably sexy and beautiful, wonderful internet and video / music
Disadvantages: needs a couple of firmware updates to become the perfect phone
...Given the rather briefness of the other iPhone reviews on Ciao, and given I've actually GOT one, I thought I'd do a proper review prior to the iPhone being launched in the UK.
Some history:
Apple have been making computers since the 1970's and were the first people to launch what we now call a home computer with the Apple II microcomputer in 1977. Since then, they have been at the front of design and innovation, despite having a few failures along the way, such as the Apple Newton in the 1990's. Apple have recently had two turnarounds, the first being the launch of the iMac in 1998 (basically a portable TV size computer with screen, but with funky colours and all in one design) and the other in 2001 when Apple launched the iPod... The rest, as they say, is history!
iPhone history:
During late 2006, rumours were...

iPhone I like
Advantages: Modern technology, amount of software and number of devices.
Disadvantages: No protective case.
...iPhone finally arrived on the UK market on the 9th November although not with the same amount of media attention it received in the U.S. it was still popularly accepted by the UK market.
I bought mine on the 19th November for £269. This seems expensive but you get a digital camera, ipod and phone all rolled in to one with iphone + internet browsing and e-mail capability, also included are elements of a personal organiser (diary and notepad).
The main feature of the phone is the touch screen technology which operates everything.
Without boring you with technical detail I will tell you what I got from iphone.
There are 17 screens (buttons you can push on the face of the camera.) The 4 on the bottom horizontal strip are the phone, e-mail, internet browsing and i-pod.
There 13 buttons on top from left to right in 3 rows of 4 +1 are...

Cordless VOIP Phones with "Messenger" Style Set-up
Advantages: Free Calls, No need to be with PC of Laptop
Disadvantages: Works with Windows XP or later
...These Phones have everything you could want and for less than £64 a bargain.
They are basically "Messenger" Phones!
You no longer need to be at your PC or using your wifi laptop and mine works down at the end of the garden.
It took me a little while to set-up (being a mere woman), but with the free tech help I managed it and now have all my family and buddies stored in the handset. I can make and receive free calls using my broadband connection. You can use just a land line or both apparently.
I can see who is online from my contact list (it is a bit like a yahoo messenger set-up), and it holds up to 100 buddies.
The screen is in colour, a good size and has a great back light making it easy to see. It also has a speaker phone facility but I haven't figured out the best way to use it.
You get Polyphonic ring tones if you are using...

iPhone
Advantages: Great interface. Excellent Music Clarity.
Disadvantages: Limited Official Apps
...iPhone. The greatest device since GSM was first created? Yes and No. I've had the iPhone for just over 4 months and I have mixed feelings over the device. I used ZiPhone to unlock mine from AT&T in the US for use in Ireland.
Out of the box the iPhone is intruative (It has to be as a Manual is not included in the box). The box included a small quick start guide, a headset and the various connectors. Set up with iTune is a breeze even for a newbie.
The Home Screen on the iPhone differs from most WIndows based Smart devices as a simple press closes the running program down. I own a HTC Touch aswell and found it much easier to upgrade and customise than the iPhone. While the iPhone has a huge and diverse 3rd party App community you may have to wait a long time until an App you need comes about. However, once they are released you can...

The Canon PIXMA IP1800 and the end of the world
Advantages: Cheap and replaceable. Attractive and efficient technology.
Disadvantages: Ink costs more than the machine. Potential ecological mayhem.
...My new Canon PIXMA IP1800 replaces my Canon PIXMA IP1600 so the planet may be doomed and It could be my fault.
My Canon PIXMA IP1600 had nothing wrong with it. It wasn't broken. The pictures spilled out on glossy paper at A4 ready for framing. The text was crisp and black. I'd had it for a year or so. It was cheap yet efficient and as good as any printer I'd ever owned. It had no tray to catch paper coming out but otherwise was printing perfectly and I've been delighted with it. This is partly why I bought the Canon PIXMA IP1800 which is also excellent. But why bother? They're almost the same machine!
The ink is running out on my old printer and, bizarrely, new cartridges would cost more than a brand new one. My wife was furious.
She looked at the packets of ink cartridges with a shop assistant because she didn't believe me...
