Pritt Stick - the only glue stick worth buying!

...After being shocked by the price of Pritt Stick in the shops, I tried out cheaper brands such as WH Smith, Tesco and Asda. All of them failed miserably! I'm a photography student and do alot of cutting and sticking pictures into a sketchbook, and none of the cheap brands managed to stick properly. Every time I turned a page the cuttings would fall or peel straight off, no matter how much glue you used. So I went back to Pritt Stick, and it really is worth the little bit extra. It actually STICKS things and they don't peel or fall off. It's proper glue. It doesn't wrinkle up the page like other brands, things stick flat with no creasing. It's also safe to use which is a bonus.. no dodgy ingredients! Because it's better quality, you use less of it, and save money in the long run! "Pritt" being the brand of the glue stick is still a market leader although many other brands of glue stick are now available. ...Pritt Stick from Henkel The Pritt Stick has to be the best loved glue for paper and office type needs. it has been around for ages and i can totally see why. It is widely avalible and at a really good price. The large tubes come in at around £1 but you can get the smallest ones for around 40pence. This price is a real bargain as they seem to last for ages. I have a 10 gram tube which has been sitting on my desk at home for a good while and serving its purpose well. You do have to be careful however to put the lid back on properly as these Pritt Sticks have a tendancy to dry up and become useless if they are left out with the air getting to them. ...Setfast super glue 5 Did a little repair, rejuvenating job this morning, I have a very old blanket box inherited from a great, great uncle Sleepy dormouse used it as a toy box when she was a child. Now she has a baby I have been revamping it for putting toys in when they visit .I noticed there was a point of a screw coming through where the hinge is fixed. What did I do? Not solid beech, full of glue!

...I bought this chair after spending ages trying to find a chair with a non toxic varnish as I suffer from chemical sensitivities and have to be very cautious as far as my baby is concerned too. As well as all the arguments for posture etc, what eventually won me over was the claim that the varnish is formaldehyde free. When I opened the box, I was immediately struck by a very strong smell of solvent, and was very disappointed to discover that while the frame is made of solid wood, the seat, footrest and back of the chair are all made of compressed wood / plywood. The varnish may be formaldehyde free, but the plywood is quite clearly full of pretty nasty glue/solvent, if the headache that I got from it is anything to go by! I have now learnt to read between the lines when the literature speaks of 'made from beech', which is obviously not...
