...The Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has been with us for a while now, and it hasn't been too badly received either amongst the Wii-mote waving, button bashing members of the public out there, so now that the DS version has finally arrived, should these same gamers still be as excited as they were the first time around? Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the DS is certainly not short on features, 16 playable characters have all been included, each of which are split into four categories such speed, skill, power and the all rounder's, therefore you can choose which characters you would prefer to use for each event based on their ability. ...Having seen the advert for this game i was desperate to buy it as i have not had my wii for that long and i do not have many games. I eventually bought this game and i am so glad that i did as it is great fun. Players This game can be played as a one player or multiplayer as long as you have a wii remote for each player. Also you will need a nunchuck for each player although some of the games you can play with just the remote. Characters In this game you can play as characters from either sonic or mario such as sonic, tails, mario, princess daisy and yoshi. Each of the characters have different abilities which are split into speed, skill, power and stamina. you can choose a character who is a speed, skill, power or all around type which means that if you are playing a running game you would choose a character from the speed type...

...During the 1990s, if you had a games console you would have probably been in one of two camps: Sega or Nintendo. I certainly was rooted firmly in the Sega camp having had a Mega Drive for many, many years with games like Street of Rage, Ecco the Dolphin and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. I was a huge Sonic fan, playing the first and second game until completion and then starting up again a few days later as I loved everything about it, the colours, the gameplay.... everything. So if you tried to convince me that some 10-15 years later that Sonic and Mario would team up in a game, I probably would have just laughed. Back then it would have been an absurd thought but one that any magazine reviewer or computer game fanboy would have only dreamed about. Poole in all its Glory

Advantages: Lovely area plenty to see

...Poole: Well Poole is the slightly quieter neighbour of Bournemouth. It has the most beautiful beaches Sandbanks a peninsular which stretches out to form the harbour entrance has been said to be one of the best beaches in the country with its white sands it has been awarded the blue flag for management and cleanliness for the last 20 years, It does get busy in the summer so plan well. The harbour itself is said to be the Largest natural Harbour in Europe. The Harbour holds 5 main islands the largest Brownsea Island, home of red squirrels and the Birthplace of the first ever scout camp founded by Baden Powell way back in 1907. Regular boats run between Poole Quay and Brownsea allowing visitors to get up close and personal with the island. The smaller islands are long Island, Green Island, Round Island and Furzey Island...

This game is published by Sierra and can without doubt boast to be the best Pool game. There are many game variations available through the menu system and most are playable online too. Pool hits the Nintendo DS - Actua Pool

...element, as you can't spend the money on anything else, such a unlockable content or newer features for the game. Indeed, the whole game does give the impression of being rushed. There aren't really many playing options in this game, and the choice is only between playing 8-ball or 9-ball, which although slightly different games, really play in a very similar way. A third option has been provided, which simply alternates between the other two game styles. it's not very innovative stuff. In terms of the look of the game, the top screen of the DS displays a 3D view of the pool table and the bottom screen of the DS displays a top down view of the table. This is all perfectly sufficient, although there are appears to be a glitch where sometimes balls overlay on each other very slightly. The game doesn't also appear to play very logically...

Home Leisure Quick up pools.

Advantages: Hours of fun for the whole family.
Disadvantages: Takes at least 9 hours to fill.

...We had had enough of the kid's fighting over the space they had in the paddling pool and the really hot weather were it got to a stage it had to go as we were so fed up having to empty it every 30 minutes with floating bugs and grass....we had to get a new smartier one... We wanted a swimming pool that the whole family could enjoy and have fun too, and all have room to move... now we are a family of five and are the average family, from one of use being on the slim side, and the other on the larger size a bit like laurel and hardie...... We were so fed up with all the bits floating in our old paddling pool from bits of grass to drowning bugs. You should all know what young kids are like from jumping in, and out of the paddling pool. and the kids were always wanting it to be emptied and refilled. So we thought that it would be alot...
