Pork & Apricot Casserole

Advantages: Reasonably economical, easy to cook, not too much washing-up, tasty, nutritious
Disadvantages: None unless you don't like a combination of sweet and savoury

...Pork can be very lean, very lovely, and not a bad thing for dieters to resort to when they would like to have a meat treat. This recipe came about by accident one day when a tin of tomatoes had the wrong label attached, and I was astonished to see apricots inside when I opened it. Always being one who likes to experiment, I used the apricots in what originally was going to be barbecued spare rib chops, and I made a pork and apricot casserole instead. It sounds initially as if the ingredients used in this dish wouldn't compliment one another, but why not try it and see for yourself, as it's delicious, and it is incredibly easy to make. No porkies about pork pies

...I buy these from the shop beside the train station I use for £1.30. It is expensive to shop here and you would probably get the pies for less in a supermarket. I have not yet seen them available in any supermarket.They are very much my favourite snack and I buy these instead of any other sandwich or roll or pork pie if they are available. There are 2 small pork pies in the pack but they cost about the same as the other pork pies brand on the shelf. When you open it the pastry is dark and greasy. There is a slightly burnt taste but this adds to the overall flavour. The first bite is brilliant. The pickle flavour really adds to the pork. I tastes like pork too, not just the fatty stuff you get in other pork pies which can be pretty tasteless sometimes. One is normally enough for a snack as it is quite satisfying. Advantages: Taste great, fairly cheap and helped the allies win WW2
Disadvantages: Fat content and name may be offputting, but rest assured they contain no brain matter!

...Pork faggots put simply are meatballs served in rich gravy. Traditionally, faggots are made from offal and off cuts of meet, typically pork. They have progressed a bit and the Mr Brain variety is made from liver and onions, differing significantly from their original recipe. This does however reflect society today, as I doubt people would want to knowingly eat meatballs made from pig heart, liver and fatty belly meat, which is then wrapped round with caul (a membrane from the pig's abdomen), and baked. Appearance wise, they are reminiscent of traditional faggots, but by the sound of the difference in ingredients, I'm sure they have a very different taste.
