MP3's through a cassette player in your car

...After my girl friend got the back of her car smashed in to by some stupid guy she had to change cars. Luckily she got a car for free from a friend of her family, unluckily this car is about 15 years old lol. We both have MP3 players and love to listen to music when we drive but this new car only had a cassette player so we were both a bit disappointed. On a trip to our local halfords i decided that i was sick of listening to old recordings of early 90's "music" and got her the Belkin MP3 cassette thingy in the hopes that we could finally listen to some good music. There are some very good things about this product and some not so good things as well. The good points are its a hell of a lot cheaper than getting a new CD player for the car. My friend had bought the very same product to use in her car, and the sound quality was very good! Sony TCM-200DV Dictaphone

Advantages: Takes regular sized audio cassettes, double-time recording, inexpensive model
Disadvantages: Needs to be used close to sound-source, a bit bulky for some tastes

...I always wanted a dictaphone as a child. Largely, I admit, for slightly dubious reasons (i.e. I wanted to plant it in my big sister's bedroom and find out if she was talking about me.) Many years on, as a student, I finally received one as a birthday gift so that I could record important lectures. This certainly did come in handy during those classes that, however hard I tried to stay alert, had me head down and drooling on the desk within minutes. The Sony TCM-200DV Cassette-Corder (or 'dictaphone' to you and me) is a fairly basic model compared to some products on the market - but it does what it says on the tin and it does it to a perfectly acceptable standard. The machine is silver (with a charcoal grey back panel and battery compartment) and weighs in at 171g - it's roughly the same size as a cassette-playing personal stereo...

Who Remembers Good Old Cassettes???

Advantages: Very Strong
Disadvantages: Battery Life

...for the adults lol. The lower setting is in my opinion far to quiet but about middle of the slider is perfect. Carry Handle - A tough and sturdy carry handle makes the player very portable and provides a nice handle to prevent it being dropped. Our one has not so much been dropped in the past as thrown but has suffered no ill effects. DURABILITY + CLEANING -------------------------------------- I have to say the Tuff Stuff Tape Recorder is exactly that this one has been dropped swung and whacked all over the house and still looks like new. The most delicate part of it is the cassettes which if taken out have a habit of having the ribbon ripped out. I have lost lot's of tapes to this, gladly I am now on CD's so they are kept well out of the way and my cassettes have found a home in the loft. Cleaning is easy just a damp cloth wiped over it...

...-10 on Ebay, I'd recommend you buy it if you still have a lot of tapes or still record tapes of CDs. I mean it will last you for ages and gives you lots of music and radio fun. Alas, MP3 players and Ipods are taking the place of the beloved Walkman and soon, I don't think they will sell these anymore....

...very surprised to hear the sound coming out of both ears!!!! People thinking that it could therefore be used as a Walkman should be wary; the sound quality is not as good and I only listen to spoken word on it. The VOR slide switch is also on the top, featuring OFF/LOW/HIGH options. The built-in speaker is an obvious feature, situated at the front. It has a 'Clear Voice' noise reduction. It's fine for spoken word but only has 0.2 Watt as power. If you listen to things like Radio Plays or Audio books, this is fine if you're in a quiet room and the player is relatively near. The cassette recorder is mechanical and there's no button to press to open the tape compartment. This suites me and isn't a problem. The buttons have a slight plasticy feel to them but the machine is robust enough, surviving frequent trips to work in rucksack...

...The Sony WM-EX 605 is purely a personal cassette player. I bought one last week for my six year old daughter, as she likes to listen to books on tape. The unit features are: Feather touch controls, auto reverse, remote control, and up to 35 hour battery life. Feather touch controls basically just a gentle touch of the button will activate that function. Auto reverse well this turns the tape over without removing the tape from the unit but this is an intelligent auto reverse it can be programmed to play both sides of the tape once or continuous play (where the tape will continue to play until the player is stopped). Remote control this is fitted on the headphone cable and controls the volume, oh it also controls all the other functions as well Play, Fast Forward, Rewind, Stop and Auto reverse! Anyhow, as I was saying, this Sony cassette player is tiny, 11cm long, 8cm wide and 2cm thick. For something of such a small size, it delivers superb quality. What does it do you may ask... Have you asked it yet? Why not? Ask it... Good. Unlike other Walkmans, this one only plays cassettes, it does not have an in built radio or GPS or MP3 or coffee maker with milk frother.
