Sony CD Player

Advantages: Good quality sound, looks good, includenots mp3

An Atrac-tive player

Advantages: Ultimate in portability, use in car or on foot
Disadvantages: Atrac cannot be used on any other players

...Once upon a time I had a car, and it had a radio that didn't work and a cassette player that did. So I used to tape my CD's onto cassettes to listen to in the car. This wasn't ideal, after all a tape only plays for a relatively short time before it needs turning over, but that was all I had. Then I saw an advert in the paper for the Sony D-NE518CK , a CD/mp3 player which came with a car kit that simply went into the cassette slot and you could get upto 30 hours of music one disc. My mouth dropped and I said ?WOW, I've got to get one of them!!!?. So off I toddled to Argos and bought the CD Walkman for a princely £90, then as a nice bonus received a free 240 disc case and 5 CD-A (writeable CDs that can only be used like regular audio CDs). * * * * * * * * * * * In the box * * * * * * * * * * * Inside the rather large...

Technika MP-308 4GB MP3 player with FM tuner

Advantages: Wide range of features
Disadvantages: Difficult to navagate menus

...The MP-308 is Tesco?s current top of the range mini MP3 player with FM radio, and at 3p shy of £30 places it firmly in the budget end of the market. Having very recently ?goosed? my previous player doing a firmware upgrade, I got mine as an impulse purchase. It?s small ? about the same size as a lighter, and has a rechargeable battery, so running costs are minimal. You get everything you need; the player, a USB lead, a pair of cheap headphones, and a set of paper instructions and a mini-CD. In fact if you?ve previously owned an MP3 player, you can probably dispense with the last two items, the player supports traditional ?drag?n?drop? from your ?my music? folder. The instructions suggest that it?s far better to use the application which comes with the machine, that way you can make playlists, catalogue your albums and so...

in the blue mp3/cd player

Advantages: Good basic player
Disadvantages: reliability lets it down

...or CD over and over or the random function I mentioned earlier. You can also put a sequence of up to 20 songs in its memory, but I still haven?t had the patience to bother to work out how. There is a limit of 999 songs to a mp3 cd and / or 999 albums, but unless you are listening to 15 sec clips then I cant see anyone ever outdoing this. OTHER FUNCTIONS ?Hold? function allows you to stop turning it on by accident which is a great function to if you bump the player around in your bag all day like I do, because there is nothing more annoying than going to listen to a song and finding your battery has died because it?s been singing to itself for the past couple of hours! POWER SUPPLY This player has 2 power options - battery or mains. If you are running it from battery then it takes 2 AAs and has 40 hour playback with non...

mp3 cd player

Advantages: good battery life
Disadvantages: ?????

...myself on Amazon.co.uk looking for something to the value of about £3 to take my order over the £25 mark in order to qualify for free delivery. I ended up buying a Sony D-NE511 Atrac / Mp3 Portable Discman for £60. Oops. Sony produce a range of these Atrac discmans and as you would expect the more you pay, the better the features. But I went for the D-NE511 model because it seemed to have everything I needed, despite being the cheapest in the range. Beside the player itself the box contains a power adapter, software cd, user guide, software instruction booklet and headphones. The units come in a few different colours if that sort of thing concerns you. You can choose from red, blue or the one I opted for, bog-standard silver (although that may not technically be the correct name for the colour!) The player itself is only slightly...

CD/MP3 player of kings

Advantages: MP3 playback and long battery life
Disadvantages: The random function doesn't work properly

...Whenever I?ve had to choose a CD player like this, for me or for a present, the first thing I look at is the battery time. This is what first led me to this player, it advertises 30+ hours of CD playback and 48 hours of mp3 playback (these are for non-stop playback, with no skipping. Using the skip a lot will reduce battery time and giving it resting time between playbacks increases battery time.) Those numbers seemed pretty amazing to me from just 2AA batteries. So I bought it.... The round shape looks great and I can?t see how a CD player could get much smaller. It feels very well built, and it takes very big bumps (unusually big) to get it to skip. The remote control is useful for whenever you are carrying it around in your pocket or a bag and don?t want to have to reach into your pocket and fumble around for the buttons...

Sonys newest MP3/CD player is up against my test

Advantages: Sleek, slender, small weight and a stylish design
Disadvantages: Quite low battery life

...When the Walkman was first released the whole world dropped thier jaws and let out a amazed oooing sound... it is even said the the advertising copyrighter that made up the slogan "Don't run, walk man" was able to retire on that sentence alone. But in the technological age we live this product won't be able to turn many heads. The sony D-NE511/S comes with power compression software which allows you to put up to 30 CD's onto one CD and play it through your D-NE511/S. The missing word in that sentence is ONLY...these compressed CD's can only be played through sony walkmans with ATRAC recording technology which makes it hard if you want to share your newly created mixes with friends. The same software also lets you make CD's containing loads of mp3 files (not sure on a certain number as i have never had enough mp3 files to push...

The Perfect cd player

Advantages: looks good, easy 2 use, huge batery life, 30cds onto 1
Disadvantages: headphones + software provided

...I came across this product whilst bored after doing my homework, fantasising about an ipod so I could store all my music. Whilst searching around the Internet I stumbled over many CD Mp3 players. I'd never heard of them before so I was intrigued to find out more. I had owned a Sony Minidisc player for about 2 years, and had become fed up with having to change the Minidisc every so often (yes I'm very lazy!) and it had become broken and did not want to send it of to the manufacturers to mend it which would have been very costly. A CD Mp3 player can store up to 30 albums onto one CD. This is very handy and by far easier than my previous Minidisc player is. This CD player comes with 2x AA alkaline rechargeable batteries which makes it possible to enjoy non-stop audio entertainment for up to 150 hours!!!! THE SOFTWARE Included...

Tecknika mp3 player

Advantages: No batteries needed
Disadvantages: None

...When my son asked for an MP3 player so that he could take it to school for art, my first thought was no way because they are to expensive for someone to pinch. We were in Tesco and noticed this product for only £15, so I took a closer look. It is a small mp3 player which is good, because you can hide it well, especially when outside, it comes with 4 different face covers and does not take batteries, so yes I bought it, on the understanding that we will see how he takes care of this one and then we will by him a better if he does take care of it. Well we have no need to buy another one because this little mp3 is brilliant. To start with the batteries, as I have mentioned it doesn't take batteries, well it has an lithium battery inside which once charged lasts up to 8 hours, to charge it you plug the lead into the mp3 and then...

Great MP3 Player - Simplicity and Elegance

Advantages: Looks great, airtight integration with iTunes
Disadvantages: Feels too small

.... This iPod got me into podcasts, because they are so easy to set-up. The battery life is good. Sound quality is average. I had a Sony walkman before and sound quality between the two is quite noticable. iPod nano lacks bass. There are EQ settings but not user-configurable ones. Apple's main advertising with this player is CoverFlow. This is when you can browse your music collection by flicking thro' album artwork. However, often it time a few seconds for the images to load, so is not as pretty as appears on adverts. Also it will take you AGES to go thro' your iTunes library and get all the album artwork. I tried it with a FM transmitter (generic) and it worked fine. Overall an excellent MP3 player that boasts airtight integration with iTunes and looks very attractive. However often feels too small. I brought the 8GB silver...
