Portable DVD player for when Ipod just won't do

My daughter seems to have discovered both. Having seen that newer cars are coming with DVD players as standard I thought I would have a look at a low end portable player to stick in the car and also use in the house when the main TV is busy with soaps. Nextbase sell under a variety of names including "Voyager" so you may see the exact same model with a different badge. Advantages: Clear screen, lots of features, easy to use and a large range of games and movies.
Disadvantages: Can't be used with strong light and quite easy to damage/scratch

Reason for wanting one was because sitting outside shops waiting for the wife or children at after school clubs I had nothing to do. I started watching a little analogue TV but that soon died a death so I reverted to a portable DVD player but you can only watch so films twice. HENCE!!! ...The PSP was brought as a birthday present, I?m not an Avid gamer and didn?t really intend to become one, So it was without much enthusiasm I opened the box. I was soon gripped though on playing with the buttons and the games that came with it, Pretty soon the PSP never left my hands, I found it easy to use and all the functions were simple, even for someone as simple as me. The battery life on my PSP was fantastic and it kept me entertained for many hours on long journeys, I found the DVD Quality to be good although the DVDs themselves can be slightly pricey. I owned the PSP For 2 weeks before I found any problems with it, I was in the middle of a standard game, and it stopped working, It came up with an error saying the Disc could not be read. Nothing worked to fix it, It hadn?t been dropped or anything - I was mighty disappointed...

An amazing DVD screen for any holiday!

...What a product!!! And what a steal at £279!!! Read on!!! 2-Year Warranty!!! We bought one of these last year from Incardvd for a long camping holiday over the summer. It kept our son occupied in the back of the car watching his own DVD's on the wireless headphones. The when we were camping we used it in the evening and watched TV on it's built-in Freeview digital and analog tuner. (Antenna included in box) The screen size is great at 10.2 inches and the carry case protects it really well. It plays all of our DVD's and CD's (including multi-region, DiVX, MP3, CDR, CD+R and CD-R. It even has a USB port It has power supply for car and mains so is pretty versatile too. Having not heard of Nextbase before we were a little worried but now if we have to replace this at any pont we will buy Nextbase again....

I happily chose the Shinco 1731A portable DVD player for the following reasons 1) The seven inch model was small, easily portable but the colour ActiveMatrix TFT screen didn't seem too small when watching films on the train. ...the game will not be fiddily, awkward or just a copie/ remake of an older PS2 title. When watching a UMD video on the PSP the quality is excellent and plays just as if it is on TV so it is well worth getting if you dont play games and you just want a small screen to watch your favourite films on, just like a portable DVD player. DESIGN The design of the PSP makes it easy to hold and much thought must have gone into the design layout as the buttons are well spaced so they are easy to access when playing games.
