We were in Tesco and noticed this product for only £15, so I took a closer look. It is a small mp3 player which is good, because you can hide it well, especially when outside, it comes with 4 different face covers and does not take batteries, so yes I bought it, on the understanding that we will see how he takes care of this one and then we will by him a better if he does take care of it. The Godfather of all MP3 players

Advantages: Great sound quality, and amazing battery life. Not bad price either.
Disadvantages: Nothing really.

...I've had this iPod for about 6 months now as my old ipod mini broke after having it for at least 3 years. I think this iPod is the best so far. The sound quality is amazng and the battery life is much longer than ever before, i may sound a little bias, but i really do love this iPod! The battery will last for up to a week and thats with me listening to it for at least 3 hours a day, plus watching the occasional movie. The memory is also huuuuge on this one. Not as big as its boss, the 160Gb one, but still extremely large. I have over 20 movies on it and over 5,000 songs. For me, its the best MP3 player on the market by a country mile. Not at a bad price either, even though it is a lot higher than other MP3 players on the market, but this is probably because it is the best one out there! The price is a lot better than the nano...

While picking up some essentials I spotted the Technika MP-906 mp3 player which Tesco are currently retailing for £4.97 and so decided that at under £5 what the hell. I have to say it is probably the best £5 I have ever spent. For this price you don't expect much and so I was expecting a lightweight flimsy feeling piece of kit, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The first thing you notice when you remove the player from the packaging is the quality feel of the player. MP3 Player MP-906, Cheap and Cheerful

Advantages: Cheap! small, user friendly, no-one will ever want to steal it and you can replace cheaply if it breaks!
Disadvantages: No locking device, non standard headphones, obviously not hi-tech!

...Napa 256 Mb MP3 Player. This portable MP3 player seems to be only available from Currys and Dixons, or at least it was at Christmas when I bought mine. For anyone who doesn't know, an Mp3 player can be used to store digital music tracks, and then can be used to payback whenever you wish. Basically it's a new age digital personal stereo. It is really quite small for what it is. Its size is : 85mm x 35mm x 20mm. This is roughly the same size as your index and middle finger combined. Its weight is 40 grams. You need to be able to connect your Mp3 player to your PC, which is achieved by using the USB cable which is supplied in the box. A CD which has the driver for your Mp3 player is also included, but if you are running a reasonably up to date operating system such as Windows ME or higher then the driver is unnecessary...

...Ok, to start this review off as you can see by the pic it is a small usb pen mp3 player in black and silver with an LCD screen. On the front it has a play button that acts as play/pause and on/off, on the sides it has the mode button, volume control, earphones, hold button, a mic and a metal keychain attachment. The deivce is nice and light and uses 1 x AAA battery. Although the instructions do not say, if you use a 700mah battery you should get around 5hrs of play out of it. The package comes in a small card board box with a plastic interior and the parts are wrapped in a plastic bag. In the box itself you should get, the mp3 player, 1 battery, earphones, usb cable, user manual and a cd-rom for Windows98. As I only have Windows XP I cannot say whether this auto installs on other operating systems. One useful item on the cd is...

Best mp3 player I've ever had

Advantages: Sleek, useable, high quality sound / pictur, good battery life
Disadvantages: scratches easily, cannot use songs from programs like napster

...I got my ipod classic in december and have to say it's the best mp3 player I've had. I like many owners of the classic have not filled it with music, I have less than 20gb on it, however it's good to have the space when you don't have to pay that much extra for it. Video play is very clear, sound quality is excellent (previous problem with low volume is now gone) and if you have ever used an ipod before you will already be used to the click wheel. The only problems are that the metallic back scratches easily so it needs a case really and that you can't put napster songs onto it. The battery life is fantastic when listening to music, I can go without charging mine for around a week with regular use. The battery doesn't fare quite as well with video but tthat would be a problem for any player. Overall great quality, nice design...

It is 13cmx13cmx2½cm which is about average size, so its more bag sized than pocket sized. It comes with an adapter and ear bud type headphones. It only has a small display area, so only displays limited information on it, such as which track and album or how long the song has been playing for. There are also little icons to display what modes you have it on, which are discussed later. The buttons are fairly small, so not fab it you are fumbling about in the dark or going under a tunnel, or if you have any arthritic type problems that makes it difficult to press small buttons.
