...When my son asked for an MP3 player so that he could take it to school for art, my first thought was no way because they are to expensive for someone to pinch. We were in Tesco and noticed this product for only £15, so I took a closer look. Stunning little 256mb MP3 player for under £5

...I have been debating whether to splash out on an mp3 player for quite some time now but always seemed to have something else to spend the money on so had not purchased one until now. While picking up some essentials I spotted the Technika MP-906 mp3 player which Tesco are currently retailing for £4.97 and so decided that at under £5 what the hell. I have to say it is probably the best £5 I have ever spent. For this price you don't expect much and so I was expecting a lightweight flimsy feeling piece of kit, but I couldn't have been more wrong. MP3 Player MP-906, Cheap and Cheerful

Advantages: Cheap! small, user friendly, no-one will ever want to steal it and you can replace cheaply if it breaks!
Disadvantages: No locking device, non standard headphones, obviously not hi-tech!

...Napa 256 Mb MP3 Player. This portable MP3 player seems to be only available from Currys and Dixons, or at least it was at Christmas when I bought mine. For anyone who doesn't know, an Mp3 player can be used to store digital music tracks, and then can be used to payback whenever you wish. Basically it's a new age digital personal stereo. It is really quite small for what it is. Its size is : 85mm x 35mm x 20mm. This is roughly the same size as your index and middle finger combined. Its weight is 40 grams. You need to be able to connect your Mp3 player to your PC, which is achieved by using the USB cable which is supplied in the box. A CD which has the driver for your Mp3 player is also included, but if you are running a reasonably up to date operating system such as Windows ME or higher then the driver is unnecessary...

...Ok, to start this review off as you can see by the pic it is a small usb pen mp3 player in black and silver with an LCD screen. On the front it has a play button that acts as play/pause and on/off, on the sides it has the mode button, volume control, earphones, hold button, a mic and a metal keychain attachment. The deivce is nice and light and uses 1 x AAA battery. Although the instructions do not say, if you use a 700mah battery you should get around 5hrs of play out of it. The package comes in a small card board box with a plastic interior and the parts are wrapped in a plastic bag. In the box itself you should get, the mp3 player, 1 battery, earphones, usb cable, user manual and a cd-rom for Windows98. Review of Aigo (A203) MP3 Player

Best mp3 player I've ever had

Advantages: Sleek, useable, high quality sound / pictur, good battery life
Disadvantages: scratches easily, cannot use songs from programs like napster

...I got my ipod classic in december and have to say it's the best mp3 player I've had. I like many owners of the classic have not filled it with music, I have less than 20gb on it, however it's good to have the space when you don't have to pay that much extra for it. Video play is very clear, sound quality is excellent (previous problem with low volume is now gone) and if you have ever used an ipod before you will already be used to the click wheel. The only problems are that the metallic back scratches easily so it needs a case really and that you can't put napster songs onto it. The battery life is fantastic when listening to music, I can go without charging mine for around a week with regular use. The battery doesn't fare quite as well with video but tthat would be a problem for any player. Overall great quality, nice design...

It is 13cmx13cmx2½cm which is about average size, so its more bag sized than pocket sized. It comes with an adapter and ear bud type headphones. It only has a small display area, so only displays limited information on it, such as which track and album or how long the song has been playing for. The buttons are fairly small, so not fab it you are fumbling about in the dark or going under a tunnel, or if you have any arthritic type problems that makes it difficult to press small buttons.
