...Last time we visited Porto, to the north of Portugal, perhaps a decade ago we found the bars and restaurants to be rather traditional affairs; in the main the eateries were either clean, basic strip lighted places, or if they were upmarket then they would distinctly cater for the conservative diner with nice tables and cloth napkins.
