Potty Book

Advantages: Shows toddlers the processes involved in potty use.
Disadvantages: Once the child is trained the book isnt so usefull.

My little boy started showing all the signs of readyness at 2, some babies are ready before then, others later, all children are different. My mum bought him this book for him to read whilst we were potty training him, this is the boys version there is an alternative for girls. While many potty training books are primarily aimed at adults with advice, illustrations etc this book is deliberately designed with toddlers in mind. My potty book is a 7 page board book, this may not seem like alot of pages but bear in mind it is for toddlers, 7 pages is just enough to keep their attention. I'm potty about this book

Advantages: a great way to introduce potty training

Potty seat thats gentle on the botty

Review of Cushie Traveler Folding Padded Potty Seat

A Very Smart Potty!

Advantages: Lovely deep removeable insert
Disadvantages: A little pricey

...My little girl has had a cheap potty since she was around 13 months old but would never sit on it and just pushed it around the floor like a car. At only 18 months old she is young to start potty training but we have had some success. The Baby Bjorn Smart Potty is a lovely sturdy and well made potty. It has a removable white pan insert which is excellent for cleaning and nice and deep to prevent spills. It must be really comfortable too as Imogen will happily spend 15 minutes on it reading a book without getting pins and needles. It has a non slip bottom which has prevented it from being pushed around the floor like a car and is great on our laminate and bathroom tiles. It also comes in a great range of colours to suit you child or your bathroom decor. At around £20 it is a little expensive but I would say most definatly worth it....

...This is a fabulous 3-1 toilet trainer, I used this when I trying to get my son out of nappies when he was 2 years old. As a potty you can just pull the middle bit out (where your toddler will do their business) and empty the contents, also the middle bit has a raised edge one side which is great for boys (keeps their winkle in side). Once we got past the first stage of potty trainer I tried to put him onto the toilet which I guess for any 2 year old was very scary, I mean what toddler doesn't think that they are going to fall into the toilet. I just took the seat part off the potty and this would rest safely on any standard toilet seat and with the handles my son felt very safe. After my son got over the fear of the toilet and stop using the seat he was then able to go by himself as the bottom part of the potty once tuned...

...Having been through toilet training with my elder daughter, and going through it at the moment with my younger one, I have found that it is always good to find a decent book which helps to deal with the subject. 'I Want My Potty' is one such book! It is written and illustrated by Tony Ross, and is part of his Little Princess stories (which are televised on Channel 5's Milkshake) and certainly deals with the subject in a humourous way. In 'I Want My Potty' we meet the character of the Little Princess, and at the beginning of the book she is just at the stage where she is beginning to think that nappies are rather disgusting - in fact she thinks they are 'YUUECH!'
