Those of you that have been sea fishing from a boat will know that Mackies can be a pain in the proverbial b*m when you are trying to get your rigs down to the sea bed where the decent fish are supposed to be. But you probably know that Mackerel make good bait for those self same (and in my case, ELUSIVE) big boys. Here is my tip for you: Catch the b*ggers, fillet them and freeze them. BEFORE YOU START CLICKING ON THE "WHAT A WASTE OF CIAO SPACE THIS IS" BUTTON, let me explain a bit more. Freezing mackies, or more accurately, THAWING mackies, makes them go mushy and difficult to keep on the hook. ...Fed up of using a USB cable to connect my ipod touch to my laptop and draining all its battery, I decided to invest in an USB power adapter. Being pretty naive at the time of purchase, I thought I had to use an apple one, so unfortunately paid £20! Looking back on it, this was the craziest purchase I have ever made, because it didn't take me long to realise, I could get the for a few pounds on the internet, with postage costing more than the adapter itself. ...Eternal - Power of a Woman One of my favourite girl bands from old were Eternal (this is probably showing my age a bit but oh well). They were popular before The Spice Girls, Girls Aloud etc and I think one of the reasons why they were successful was because they could actually sing and had some lovely harmonies, with beautiful voices that all worked well together. The Power of 3 compells you!

Advantages: Works the whole body, fun, well instructed,
Disadvantages: Only if you don't like Davina, legs section is HARD!

...In my recent quest to lose weight and get fitter I've become something of a workout DVD addict! I've now worked my way through all of Davina's output, sampled Charlie Brooks and now moving onto Nell McAndrew (only for the brave!) But Davina's are so far my favourite, with her Super Body Workout topping my list, but the Power of 3 coming a close second. The Power of 3 was Davina's first DVD and is just over an hour long, moving through 3 different sections - legs, arms, and abs. It uses interval training to get the heart rate up before performing different exercises intended to tone up the muscles and lose the flab. If you've used the Super Sculpt on Super Body you'll be familiar with interval training and for me, this is a great way to work out as I hate being too out of breath. Jukebox, released in 2008 came with a sigh of relief from fans who had been waiting 8 years for the artist to re-immerge with something else to add to the collections. I dont think they were dissapointed. As a rule I dislike cover albums but this one is just as good as her old The Covers Record (2000) and really shows off her maturity and experience in the field. I like her ode to memphis blues The Greatist but this really gives us something fresh to tackle and in terms of listenability it is much fatter and more diverse making it 10 times more playable than The Greatest.
