great value tool
Review of Power Devil Variable Speed Jigsaw by
johnt
Advantages: good features, cheap price, very versatile
Disadvantages: none
...I bought a variable speed Power Devil jigsaw from Argos to replace my old, and rather knackered, Black & Decker one.
This was on offer at £15 and came with a dozen blades. It has variable speed with speed lock, which is great for cutting delicate materials as it lets you start off gently it also has blade guard and adjustable cutting angle. Changing blades is very straightforward, the allen key is stored in a small recess on the saw, so is less likely to be lost.
I like their range of power tools, they are well made, have plenty of feature and are very reasonably priced....

Devil may be crying but you will be grinning
Review of Devil May Cry (PS2) by
assistant_14
Advantages: dark and scary graphics with an edgy atmosphere and good combat system.
Disadvantages: Levels are sometimes a little short and not deep enough...rarely though.
...arrived early and after blitzing through a hard days selling including a visit from the area manager I found myself on the couch at home unwrapping the game that was going to rob me of sleep for some time to come. After being pleasantly suprised by the highly playable demo the initial stages of the game although altered and more in depth were breezed through very rapidly leaving me with a very intreaguing story of a young man robbed of his parents by evil some years previous who starts an agency called Devil May Cry that deals with "jobs" that need to be done. His office is littered with the heads of his demon victims and his dark appearance and shock of white hair makes Dante a dark and unwilling but identifiable hero. His father was sparda a powerful devil knight who abandoned the devil kingdom to live in the human world and to have Dante...

Gets in the corners
Review of Power Devil Angle Sander by
johnt
Advantages: Far easier than by hand, good finish
Disadvantages: Bit noisey
...Having refurbished the kitchen, re varnishing the doors etc I was fed up with using sand paper to get into all the awkward corners. This was very time consuming and boring. The quality of the finish was not too good either.
I decided it was time to get the right tool for the job. Homebase had a good selection of angle sanders, or delta sanders as they called them. They ranged in price from £13 Power Devil to about £40 for the Bosch.
I decided on the Power Devil due to the far lower price and it seemd to do everything that the Bosch did.
The sanding pads are very straight forward to use, they come with a velcro backing so once on they stay on yet are easy to peel off. The motor has plenty of power although it is rather noisey. Little pressure is needed to prepare the surface, I have found it to be very quick and easy to use...

Why should you buy a power devil pdd2197k
Review of Power Devil Cordless Hammer Drill by
bluetack
Advantages: price and quality
Disadvantages: colour (its red)
...Despite its name the Power Devil is a well built and well featured cordless hammer drill, the motor is made by the US maker Johnson which i am assured is a quality make, the battery is a large voltage 19.2V and is made by Panasonic, the keyless chuck made by Jacobs is a 13mm one which is quite rare to see on budget priced tool. The drill offers 16 torque settings, standard drill mode, hammer drill mode variable speed which 0-1000 rpm forward and reverse actions. The charge time is 1 hour which is a real bonus. The drill is comfortable in use despite its bulk for a cordless tool. It comes in a plastic case which also includes a small selection of drill/driver bits. All in all an exellent package at an excellent price £59.99...

Good value saw
Review of Power Devil Circular Saw by
johnt
Advantages: Very good value, spare blade
Disadvantages: quality not too good
...I had wanted a saw with a deeper cut for some diy work. The saw would be used very infrequently so would need to be cheap enough to justify getting it.
Homebase stocked a small range of saws, Black & Decker, Bosch & Power Devils. The larger saws ranged from £45 - £130. All had similar features and blade size but the quality of construction did show in the price.
Working to a tight budget made the Power Devil my only real option. The cheapest comparable Black & Decker was another £40.
The saw has a 184mm blade which gives a cut depth of 55mm. It has adjustable depth and angle of cut. There is a rip fence and provision to fit a dust bag. It also came with a spare blade making it excellant value for money.
For £45 it is relatively well made and is fine for occassional use, however the more expensive ones were far better designed and much...

THE LITTLE RED DEVIL
Review of Power Devil PDG4029 by
tuppney
Advantages: small, compact, metal rotary blade
Disadvantages: too long a cord to pull if you are short
...I am not sure if my lawn mower is the one being advertised but it is a Red Devil.
Mine is a petrol mower instead of the traditional electric one. The reason mine is a petrol is because of the size of my rear garden.
Where do I start. I will start with yesterday, I cut my lawn with no problem at all, I decided to cut my neighbours lawn, me being generous an all, it decided to cut out on me, it just went clonk.
Not being mechanically minded, being a woman an all (not aimed at women in general). It is just me.
I had run the poor little thing dry of oil and nearly blew her up. Well I didn`t know where the oil was meant to go, boyfriend never showed me, that is his job, being ex mechanic.
I felt totally gutted because I have had her for about a year and this was the only problem that I had had with her.
A friend of mines dad managed...

Very powerful machine, very reasonable price
Review of Power Devil Washer by
wiseoldowl
Advantages: Cleaning all surfaces without needing elbow grease!
Disadvantages: None that I have found.
...I have been considering a pressure jetting machine for some time, but I have always been deterred by the high cost. The new Power Devil PDG4021 was cheap enough to tempt me! Now I have bought it, I wonder how I ever managed without it!
It is a very well manufactured machine, and very robust. The body casing is heavyduty plastic, with the electric supply and switch superbly protected from water ingress. Connection of the incoming water hose, and the jetting output are again very robust and easy to use. The jetting lance is very light and eash to operate, and there is a facility to use a detergent dispenser on the lance.
The output pressure cannot be varied, but this is no inconvenience, as the output can easily be adjusted during use, from a powerful needle jet, to a less powerful fan-shaped spray pattern.
On the jet setting...

Spellbound...
Review of Bedazzled (Wide Screen) by
frkurt
Advantages: Hilarious, Cook and Moore are great
Disadvantages: Just a bit dated sometimes...
...cost of rental of the movie!).
In the end, the devil pays a call on God (who lives in a greenhouse that looks suspiciously like one of the major botanical research greenhouses in Britain, but...) who lets the devil in on the trick that the competition wasn't really on, prompting the release of Moore to go back to his life (which by this point Moore realises wasn't so bad), and the devil slinks away, disappointed.
There is so much subtle humour mixed in with the bawdy and tumbling humour that this really is a treat. One friend has likened it to Austin Powers, and that is not far off the mark, for this really was the swinging 60s in Britain.
The various seven deadly sins are all personified here, including Rachel Welch as Lust (big surprise!) and Barry Humphries (Dame Edna) in one of his earliest screen appearances as Envy.
It is amazing...

My Personal Red Devil
Review of Dirt devil by
suroben
Advantages: light to carry
Disadvantages: smoking
...I was in need of a small, lightweight cleaner to use upstairs so when I saw the Dirt Devil in a local store I bought one because I knew the name and thought it would be reliable.
I was initially very impressed with the appearance and suction. It was only used in the bedrooms & bathroom but very soon seemed to lose its suction power. I told my husband who tried to pull it round the room while cleaning (he's more energetic than I) and the wheel fell off. When the wheel was replaced I resumed cleaning as usual until Christmas Eve when I was a little worried to hear a strange noise followed by the whole casing glowing red. I turned it off at the wall socket and watched the smoke rise into the air as I said goodbye.
It was a bit of a problem to use because the head needed to be used at a certain angle but considering I hadn't even filled...
