...I'm always on the look out for ways to save a few pennies, as I was brought up that if you look after the pennies the pounds will look after themselves. So when I hunt out my basic toiletries, or even creating gift hampers, I'll always look for the cheapest place to buy them. For the last couple of years, one of my regular stops has been Savers, which is a funny sort of shop, that seems to be a cross-between the local chemist and Boots (only without a pharmacy). ...I spend a lot of my time visiting shops and assessing them (in a vain attempt not have to work in one) in order to fund the ever increasing costs of my education. (So far, its been relatively unsuccessful but if I had a penny for every time I had said ?Why am I doing this?? with regards my education then I?m sure I could fund it easily!) ...When yet another shop closed down in Harlow town centre everyone assumed that we were going to be blessed with yet another cheap mish mash shop that sold nothing in particular and nothing of use to man or beast, but we were wrong. Although the sign was the first thing to be put up and behind blanked out windows men were busy at work refurbishing the shop I was still none the wiser as I had not come across a Savers shop before, and so the agonising wait went on. After what seemed months of walking past this new so-called Savers shop waiting for a peep in the window to see what they would have to offer someone like me the opening day came and in we all piled. Soother & life saver in one!

...We bought a MAM Crystal Soother Saver before our baby was born, purely since we wanted to make sure we had everything we needed for when the time arrived, and thought we might get some use out of it at some point. However, we put the Soother Saver away when we bought it, and pretty much forgot about it for a long time .. big mistake. If I knew then what I know now, I could have saved myself weeks, if not months of restless nights. My little one, when about 4 or 5 months old, went through a period of constantly losing his dummy during the night. Somewhat tatty but well set out, on the first ailse shampoo an other hair products, and bath products and accessories such as sponges and flannels. Mens and womens dioderent, and oral hygine products The back wall of the shop contains household copnsumables. Washing powder, liquid and general kitchen stuff, the second ailse contains bathroom cleaners, bleaches and disinfectants as well as airfresheners and other scented products. Also on this aisle you will find baby products, feminie hygine products, dieting aids such as slimfast,pain killers and vitamins. Behind the counter you will find an aray of perfumes and aftershaves, razors and batteries...

Savers - the shop to save money in

...That is Savers summed up in a nutshell. Don't expect to walk through the doors to be greeted with a cheery smile and to be pampered at various make up counters like in larger Boots stores, it ain't going to happen. In fact that is one of the qualms I have with this shop is the very limited stock of makeup they keep in store. The store has a good variety of brands for almost everything else except makeup where if I'm correct, only Rimmel is sold. It very often means a trip to another store such as Boots or Superdrug to purchase any makeup. Savers lacks the convenience other stores give as they don't have everthing under one roof! There is no pharmacy in store so again a visit to a chemist is required, this is definatley not a one stop shop! Also I have found in my local store that staff in Savers are not very knowledgable about...

Power of a Woman

...Eternal - Power of a Woman One of my favourite girl bands from old were Eternal (this is probably showing my age a bit but oh well). They were popular before The Spice Girls, Girls Aloud etc and I think one of the reasons why they were successful was because they could actually sing and had some lovely harmonies, with beautiful voices that all worked well together. They were also all very pretty as well so I'm sure this added to their success. Eternal were formed in 1992 and eventually ceased as a band around the year 2000. The Power of 3 compells you!

Advantages: Works the whole body, fun, well instructed,
Disadvantages: Only if you don't like Davina, legs section is HARD!

...In my recent quest to lose weight and get fitter I've become something of a workout DVD addict! I've now worked my way through all of Davina's output, sampled Charlie Brooks and now moving onto Nell McAndrew (only for the brave!) But Davina's are so far my favourite, with her Super Body Workout topping my list, but the Power of 3 coming a close second. The Power of 3 was Davina's first DVD and is just over an hour long, moving through 3 different sections - legs, arms, and abs. It uses interval training to get the heart rate up before performing different exercises intended to tone up the muscles and lose the flab. If you've used the Super Sculpt on Super Body you'll be familiar with interval training and for me, this is a great way to work out as I hate being too out of breath.
