Warning!!! Canon Digital Camera
Review of Canon PowerShot A70 by mintsuper

Advantages: It was a good, powerful, easy to use camera
Disadvantages: Got manufacturer defect, Not very light weight

...I bought Canon Power Shot A70 from US a year ago. Now I am in UK and one day suddenly found my Canon LCD is just showing some horizontal lines instead of any picture output. I was sooo disappointed with this. Tried a lot to fix it but nothing happened. I was then just surfing the web for any instruction to fix this problem when I found an Announcement in Canon USA and also Canon UK site that these A series and many other Canon product [Other Canon Product List: Digital IXUS II, Power Shot A300, Power Shot A70, MV600, MV650i, MV700i, MV5i, MV6iMC, Digital IXUS 400, Power Shot A40, Power Shot A95, Digital IXUS IIs, Power Shot A310, Power Shot A75, MV600i, MV690, MV730i, MV5iMC, Digital IXUS330, Digital IXUSV2, Power Shot A80, Power Shot S60,Digital IXUS V3, Power Shot A60, MV590, MV630i, MV700, MV750i, MV5, Digital IUS430, Digital IXUS 500... Power those shots
Review of Canon PowerShot A95 by guddez

Advantages: Fast with a great night shot macro
Disadvantages: verry little.

...I had one of these power shot A95 lent to me a few weeks ago as we were going to a wedding, the first thing I did was think ok this won't give me a good shot (ok I was wrong), then I thought there were too many functions (actually I was wrong on that as well. The first thing you think about this camera is it's going to be a bit hard to use, it's not far from it click point and press 1/2 way in the auto focus kicks in press a bit more and the shots yours. I like the fast shot feature where you can take 5 to 6 shots at a time in succession and they all came out great. OK this isn't a professional camera but it takes shots as good as some cheap end SLR's. One of the features on the camera is the swivel LCD screen gone have the days where you scratch the screen and render the LCD dead. The night sky picture taking is perfect... Read review

Canon PowerShot A60
Review of Canon PowerShot A60 by Murray123

Advantages: Amount Of Features
Disadvantages: Shortage Of Batteries

..., occasions with friends, and so far have never been let down by the camera. Even for night shots there is a preset function. With a turn of a switch it can be portait, landscape, night shot, slow shutter etc. The functions are many. One of my favourites being the 3 minute AVI movie that can be shot which includes sound. There is a 1.5 inch LCD screen on the back of the camera to preview the picture, and see it after it is taken. The only thing with this camera is that to fully enjoy it, you should really buy a carry case and some rechargable batteries, because so far, using shop bought, they last approx 3 days ( with fairly constant use). All in all, a very good buy for a cheap camera. And a camera I will be recommending to anyone who is thinking of buying their first camera.... Read review

EOS20D - Fantastic Camera
Review of Canon EOS 20D by ransj

Advantages: Semi-pro dSLR camera, fast AF, good control of Creative Zones
Disadvantages: None that I've found yet

...Canon have once again come good with the semi-pro EOS 20D digital SLR camera. I upgraded to the 20D after having a 300D for the past 12 months. Immediately you can feel the better build quality, the magnesium body is more rugged than the plastic 300D body, and the lens mount is more positive when attaching lenses. I photograph a lot of motor sports, and where this camera really comes into it's own is in the speed of the AF mechanism with it's 9-point focusing, the shutter speed (up to 5 shots per second) the size of the internal buffer (no more waiting around for the buffer to clear before taking more shots) and the very short power-up time (no more missed shots waiting for the camera to power-up). One big benefit over and above the 300D is a ability to use AI Servo in all of the creative modes. The power of the dSLR camera comes... Read review

Canon PowerShot A460 - An A1 budget camera
Review of Canon PowerShot A460 by sayitasitis

Advantages: low price, well built, built in flash, great pictures, manual and LCD viewfinder
Disadvantages: batteries don't last that long

...£89.99 for a 5 megapixel digital camera seemed like a good buy to me and every since getting it home and playing around with it I find more and more things that leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling that I didn't have to part with wads of money for a good quality, well built and easu to use digital camera. The first thing I like about the A460 is the colour. It isn't just a plain old silver, grey or black. It has a bright blue fascia which looks pretty snazzy and sets it out from the crowd. Another good feature is the manual viewfinder in addition to the LCD screen. This means that when I'm taking shots I can steady my hands by using the manual viewfinder which cuts down a lot on hand movement as the camera is held up to the face. The LCD screen has a 86000 pixel resolution and is good for its purpose but it isn't really reflective... Read review

I am one happy chappy with my Powershot G5
Review of Canon PowerShot G5 by davesmile

Advantages: exceptional picture quality - who needs an SLR when you have the G-5!
Disadvantages: the adapter tube for using filters interferes with the viewfinder

...I bought my G5 4 months ago. It was my first digital camera but I have been into photography for over 30 years. I just returned from a one-month photo trip taking 800 pictures, mostly landscapes and flower closeups plus some action shots. I shot mostly on Manual exposure, using the LCD screen to adjust the exposure until the results looked right. My PC's calibrated screen verified the accuracy of this method. A few slight adjustments in Photoshop and they were perfect! All photos were taken at the highest Jpeg because pre-trip testing indicated that the results were equal to RAW and the file size was smaller. Jpeg artifacts are nearly non-existent. Battery life was phenomenal. Despite using the LCD screen for nearly every shot and spending a lot of time reviewing, planning improvements, and sharing my work with my photo buddy... Read review

Powershot G5 review
Review of Canon PowerShot G5 by KonstantinSK

Advantages: Excelent Features
Disadvantages: Minor design errors

...the image direct from the CCD without any image processing. Shooting Modes The PowerShot G5 has 12 shooting modes giving you complete control over the camera in every possible shooting situation. Along with all the fully manual and aperture/shutter priority modes expected in an advanced digital, the PowerShot G5 includes two Custom modes for storing preferred camera settings, Portrait and Landscape modes to minimise/maximise depth of field appropriately, and a Night Scene mode providing slow sync speed for realistic shots balancing exposure to maintain both background and foreground detail. StitchAssist works in five modes to enable precise alignment of up to 26 images for panorama and poster shots that are merged with supplied PhotoStitch software. 180-second video clips with sound can be recorded in movie mode. Photo effects include sepia... Read review

Great pics and amazingly simple to use
Review of Canon PowerShot S50 by hv007

Advantages: Excellent quality pics
Disadvantages: No case, video clips not excellent

...I bought the Canon Powershot S50 having done extensive research on 5 megapixel cameras. It has been every bit worth the money i spent. Having taken 1000 photos on my holiday i can safely say it was a excellent purchase. Pros: 1. Quality of output is excellent especially at high resolution. 2. Zooming capacity is great especailly since it has both manual and optical zoom. 3. Panoramic pics and stitchting software allows the more advanced photographer to create stunning shots. 4. Great look overall, sturdy and solid. 5. Decent size LCD screen and playback of images 6. Options for slideshows and selective display of images 7. Easy to install software 8. Images can be zoomed and selective zooming is possible. 9. Output can be projected on TV's which is great for sharing photos. 10. Software great for organising images on your desktop... Read review
