We headed to Best Buy, Ritz Camera, and Circuit City. All three had deals on the Canon PowerShot A75. Best Buys was $199 (104 pounds), and we would receive money back with their 'zone rewards program'. Ritz Camera would give us the same amount of money off, as a discount, and also 15 free prints. However, Circuit City offered a free battery charger and batteries, to the value of $35(18 pounds). This one we took. We wanted another Canon, as Len had a 128 mb. It is robust and strong, and is ideal for the busy professional who needs to take quality images quickly. There are many features on this camera, macro feature and everything else you would expect from a camera of this type. However, there is something you will not find, a digital zoom. The zoom on the Canon is an optical zoom and this means that the quality of photographs is always sharp and always crisp. Many people have been severely disappointed when they have taken a new digital camera out of the box and found out that the so-called digital zoom returns sub-standard images. ...I had one of these power shot A95 lent to me a few weeks ago as we were going to a wedding, the first thing I did was think ok this won't give me a good shot (ok I was wrong), then I thought there were too many functions (actually I was wrong on that as well. The first thing you think about this camera is it's going to be a bit hard to use, it's not far from it click point and press 1/2 way in the auto focus kicks in press a bit more and the shots yours. I like the fast shot feature where you can take 5 to 6 shots at a time in succession and they all came out great. OK this isn't a professional camera but it takes shots as good as some cheap end SLR's. One of the features on the camera is the swivel LCD screen gone have the days where you scratch the screen and render the LCD dead. The night sky picture taking is perfect... Read review

...Basically digital photo camera Canon PowerShot A620 is powerful toy with a lot of functions for making photos. Big advantage is 2.0" vari-angle LCD. and power supply where you can use rechargeable AA batteries or simple AA alkaline bateries from any shop if battery power is low (not like those with specifical batteries for particular camera model, when you can't replace them in case of low power and where you can't rechar them). Maniu is easy to use Camera starts quick enough. But it is a bit complicated use due to a a lot of functions, which not always works perfectly. And it is a little confusing for beginner. AUTO mode not very suitable for outside dark as well as NIGHT mode. Its really difficult to make good outdoor picture at night. Also PETS AND KIDS mode should make good pictures for moving objects... ...if you forget to turn the camera off (I think having the USB in disables auto power off). A card reader lets you upload pictures with the camera off (remove CF card from camera, put in card reader and hey presto). Whichever mechanism it's best to use the supplied software (be sure to follow the instructions and install this before hooking up the camera for the first time) because the software will pull additional shot information that Windows XP won't (apeture setting, date shot taken etc.) I have only 2 criticisms about the camera: 1) Red-eye; Sometimes (even in auto mode with red-eye reduction on), I still find red-eye appearing 2) Camera shake; unless using a tripod, you need to be careful when not in auto mode as the camera is VERY sensitive to shake and can result in blurred pictures. ...of the pictures that will be produced. The flash is also quite strong but one hell of a drain on the batteries which even in bright light and without flash usage drain very quickly. I would suggest 2 sets of rechargeable batteries for use with the A460. The pictures produced by the A460 are fantastic and as good in terms of clarity and detail as any other digital camera pictures I have seen. They are easy to upload onto the computer as well thanks to the easy user interface. I have a large amount of affection now for the Canon PowerShot A460 and recommend that everyone looking for a decent digital camera without a £150+ budget gives this a serious look. ...The Canon Powershot S50 is basically an upgrade of their old model, the S45, and they have certainly done a fantastic job in maintaining their high standards. With five megapixels, you can always be sure that your pictures are going to be of sufficiently high quality to develop into print photos. Unlike a lot of the cheaper cameras there is no pixel interpolation (i.e. the images taken are sharp and well-defined.) One excellent feature of the Powershot is the large extent to which the settings can be customised. Much like an SLR, you can set your f-stops and shutter speeds, as well as simulating different ISO film settings from 100 to 400. This is excellent in low lighting conditions and night shots, although in order to get sufficient light the delay in such situations is much longer, and you are advised to get a tripod... ..., occasions with friends, and so far have never been let down by the camera. Even for night shots there is a preset function. With a turn of a switch it can be portait, landscape, night shot, slow shutter etc. The functions are many. One of my favourites being the 3 minute AVI movie that can be shot which includes sound. There is a 1.5 inch LCD screen on the back of the camera to preview the picture, and see it after it is taken. The only thing with this camera is that to fully enjoy it, you should really buy a carry case and some rechargable batteries, because so far, using shop bought, they last approx 3 days ( with fairly constant use). All in all, a very good buy for a cheap camera. And a camera I will be recommending to anyone who is thinking of buying their first camera.... Read review

...into the back of the camera either way, so can be protected when carrying, but also folds out and can spin 180 degrees so it is possible (if so desired!) to take a picture of oneself while looking at the digital capture screen. The screen uses 4.1 mega pixels, which can easily produce quality images up to A4 size and beyond. (I have recently had an A3 poster made of one of my shots.) Something that sets this camera apart from other rivals would be the range of compatible lenses available on the market which attach straight to the camera, and just upgrade it that little bit further to enhance its capabilities. I confess, I do fall for 'gimmicks' in new digital technology, and so I loved the fact that the 'video recording' on the camera comes with sound (maybe not so special now, but I have just replaced my first digital camera, which was a bit... ...I absolutely love this camera and it's perfect for us girly's because it's not too heavy and small enough to fit in the most minuscule bags! It has a easy switch function on the top so you can move between the camera and video recorder with ease! I used this for my friends wedding and she used some of the photo's for her album so I think that proves how good the picture quality is! You can change the shoot mode so you can take better pictures in the nightclubs or laying on the beach and the portrait shots are fab as you can change the background colour to black and white and keep the person in colour it looks really professional! The camera looks really sleek and expensive and all my friends asked where I'd got it from!
