MUSEO OF PRADO
Advantages: ALL
Disadvantages: NOTHING
...Well,today i'm going to write about the "museo del prado".
All those have been in Madrid, know that this museum is considered one of the best museums of Europe as Spanish painting.
I am from Madrid, and i have been in this museum very many times and even so I do not get tired to go. If you travel to Madrid I recommend to you to visit it,because is very important.
-----------Collections----------------
-Spanish paintings from 1110 to 1850.
This are my favorite collection, because it represents the 70 % of the museum. Some famous pictures are "Las meninas" of Velazquez.
-Flemish and dutch paintings from 1430 to 1700.
The best picture for me is "the three Graces" of Peter Paul Rubens.
-Italian Paintings from 1300 to 1800.
-French paintigns from 1600 to 1800.
Well, here and in my opinion, there are a very good picture...

Perez Prado music
Advantages: Nothing
Disadvantages: Nothing
...Talking about Damaso Perez Prado is talking abot one of the best musician of the fifties who makes popular the Mambo with his Orquestra specially in Latin America with "Mambo Number 5", "Mamno Number 8", "Mambo del Ruletero", "Mambo Universitario", "Lupita" for example having a dance music as same as Huahuanco (another Cubean musical rate).
At that years, my parents when they were singles dance Perez Prado Music in the parties as for example in Carnival days in February) for example.
Now I heard this music 50 years after and I like this songs because some Mambos seems as a Huahuanco could be as "Que rico mambo" or some Mambos as "Mambo in Sax" seems as Jazz music.
--------------
His music's characteristic is that most of his music are instrumental with a Chorus for example in "Que rico mambo" says "Mambo, que rico mambo, mambo que...

my favourite Spanish Masters at the Prado
Advantages: Greatest collection of Spanish Masters under one roof
Disadvantages: none
...I want to talk you through some of the Spanish Masters that I particularly wanted to see at the Prado Please be aware that I am not an art expert, but I know what I like.
The Prado houses the most impressive collection of Spanish painting under one roof in the world, especially of the ?Golden Age?. The collection includes paintings from the Romanesque period through to the 19th century.
I?m not too keen on mediaeval paintings, of which there are a significant number of recognised masters in the collection. Let me take you straight to my favourite paintings from the renaissance collection. I particularly like Luis de Morales, who was nicknamed ?the divine?, his style is very personal and evocative. The sensitive painting of ?Virgin with child? painted on wood panel in 1560 is marvellous. El Greco?s works from late 1500 early...

A walk through the Prado - UPDATED
Advantages: Best collection of paintings under one roof
Disadvantages: none its brilliant !
...I’ve been to Madrid several times on holiday but only had the opportunity to visit the Prado Museum once. We (family) spent a full and enchanting afternoon breezing around the museum viewing room upon room of famous paintings that we had only ever seen in books or singular at guest exhibitions. An absolutely wonderful and vibrant museum.
Note that there is no admission fee for tourists, so take you passport with you and save a your pesetas for the cultured and colourful Madrid lifestyle.
The present day Prado Museum was built in the reign of Charles III in 1785, the building stands majestic in the heart of bustling, cultured, modern and cosmopolitan Madrid.
Created as a Museum of painting and sculpture, the museum also houses a considerable collection of drawings, engravings, coins and medals. But the Prado is really...

Stay at the Holiday Inn on Parado
Advantages: nice area of Marseille -not too far from the beach
Disadvantages: all shops & restaurents close early.
...Address- Avenue du Prado, Marseille
The Avenue du Prado is close to Parc Chanot, Stade Velodrome and Palais des Sports.
Cost per room - range from EUR114.00 for pre-booked standard room to EUR220.00 per night for a superior room
The hotel has 119 rooms 45 of which are non smoking. Inlcuded in this number are 16 executive rooms and 4 suites. 45 romms have double beds and 55 have twin beds and are based over 8 floors.
Each room has individual air-conditioning, Tea & Coffee facilities, Mini Bar, Safe, Satelite TV and WIFI or high speed internet connection.
The hotel also has its own restaurant which serves traditional French cuisine, however, I did not try this as I like to get out and about when visiting another country and not be confined to a hotel.
The main reception is very welcoming, as you walk in...

madrid - ciudad bella
Advantages: Many things to see, Great underground subway, Nightlife
Disadvantages: Many "risky" places,
...(football stadium)
-Reina Sofia/El Prado (art museums)
-Parque Retiro/Parque Attraciones (1 is a nice park 2 is a nice amusement park)
-Zarzuela (typical spanish theatre act)
Madrid ranges from Modern to Medieval buildings and very expensive hotels.
Bullfighting is also amongst one of Spains and Madrids traditions, especially going to the arena and watching a live match... and lets not forget the beautiful TERMINAL 4 barajas... the architecture is simply amazing......

Friends in High Places
Advantages: Striking scenery, frenetic, lively pace, wonderful atmosphere
Disadvantages: A little too hectic, an unfortunate combination of high altitude and lots of hills.
...of this lofty first impression is the tops of skyscrapers upon which you peer down; buildings which will soon tower above you from the city floor.
La Paz is a hectic, wildly busy place - it's difficult to find much serenity in a city whose frenetic energy seems unable to escape up the enclosing slopes. It is not, though, difficult to navigate around - a single street (El Prado) runs pretty much the length of the city centre, following the now largely subterranean Choqueyapu River along the valley floor. As such, if you're ever lost, simply head downhill and you'll end up back on this central thoroughfare. Another point of reference worth noting is the distribution of rich and poor relative to altitude; the poorest of all reside in El Alto above the basin, the richest live at the lowest point of the city south-west of the centre. The rest...

***Madrid's Famous Monuments***
***************************************
Plaza Mayor; For over three centuries, this square has served as a marketplace and as the principal site for such public events as bullfights, coronations and executions of so called heretics.
Prado Museum; A painting in the Prado Museum depicts a vivid panorama of the plaza Mayor during a large auto-da-fe, or public trial of heretics, held in Madrid in 1680.
The town hall stands in the Plaza de la Villa, the charming ancient square where the first official town meetings were held. The square is ringed by ancient buildings and still preserves the flavour of 16th century...

Fine Arts for the Novice
Advantages: Excellent Impressionist and Expressionist collection
Disadvantages: none
...is light - the open architecture of the Palacio de Villahermosa, the natural daylight in the main hall and in every room, the warm and sunny colours of the walls, and of course the exhibits themselves.
Before I take you on a guided tour, here is some basic information on the museum itself, and how it fits into the arts scene of Madrid. You may want to skip this part and jump directly to the tour below.
------------
The Thyssen Bornemisza is one of three museums in Madrid's "Triangle of Fine Arts". The other two are the famous Museo del Prado and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.
The Prado covers mainly Spanish Painting up to the so called "Golden Aera" (17th Century), which is represented by such painters as Goya and Velázquez. This is exactly what you DON'T want to see on your first introduction to paintings...

A city NOT to be missed
Advantages: Great night life
Disadvantages: people with attitude
...Madrid is great for a short city break, there is plenty to see and do and an absolutly fantastic nightlife.
Madrid is home to the world famous Prado art gallery as well as many museums and Parks gardens and the Royal palace. Most of the tourist attractions including the flea market are central and within walking distance of each other. (But beware many tourist attractions are closed on a Monday).
The night life in Madrid is excellent and I would highly recomend going over the weekend although any night is party night in madrid.
I would highly recomend club Joy, which I would say is one of the best clubs I have ever been to. The people were frendly and the music was a great mix of salsa dance and pop, and the building itself is a converted theatre just down the street from Placa del Sol. Keep a look out for flyers giving...
