Hotel In prague

Advantages: Reasonably cheap accomodation
Disadvantages: No in house Restaurant, No Room Service

...The accomodation Upon checking in to the accomodation I was asked for my Passport, so they could check the details of the booking I had made under my own name. I guess they use this procedure against breakages and in case of theft, trouble etc. I have not known this to be a feature in accomodation in England. This company procedure did not bother me whatsoever. I travelled alone to this accomodation, having booked a small room, however when I was shown my room I am sure it would have been suitable for two people. As I was staying in prague for two nights on a leisurely short city break, this did not particularly bother me too much regarding the standard of the facilities. When I was shown my room there were two single Bed's situated side-by-side. The Bed's to my eyes looked nineteen eightees style old fashioned beds...

Prague Castle

Advantages: Great view
Disadvantages: Waste of money

...As some of you will know from my other review I visited Prague recently. I didn't include Prague Castle in that review because it seemed like the review was already really long but as it is one of the main attractions. This review is going to be really mixed because there is so much to Prague castle. It's really like going to a little village because there is so much to the castle and the area around it and if you want to see it all then you'll need to spend the entire day there. -Tickets- I bought a Prague Card and got the short tour free on that but if you don't have a prague card the prices are: Short Tour- 250 crowns (£9.22) Long Tour-350 Crowns (£12.90) You can also pay to get into individual attractions and discounts are available, as well as family tickets. (Please not that the currency in Prague is changing so...

Great stay at this hotel in Prague

Advantages: Low price paid per night, decent basic breakfast
Disadvantages: No tea and coffee facilities inside the room.

...Hotel Apollon Prague Introduction Having stayed in Prague many times before I decided upon staying at this hotel as it was slightly outside the town centre area of Prague and it did have easy access to the town centre by using trams. Getting there From Dejvicka we got the green line metro to Mustek, wencezlas square, then outside Debenhams from Wencezlas square I took the number nine tram which took about 15 minutes on the tram. Paying for the accomodation This was paid for in advance using a credit card using www.booking.com. I paid a total of £20 a night which was excellent value for money, though I was slightly annoyed as my credit card was charged straightaway for the booking. I was also charged 50 czech koruna which is about £2 for breaking the card key to the room. Though all in all I was happy...

Czech out the Hilton Prague!

Advantages: A luxurious way to enjoy this beautiful city!
Disadvantages: It's not exactly centrally located. A minor irritation if you're a tourist.

...It's rare, I know. My young son, Josh (Bless 'im), who is now 4 years old doesn't feature in the body of this review since he stayed with his Grandmother whilst I treated Amanda to a St Valentine's / pre-40th birthday trip to Prague. Had the weather been warmer, I reckon that he would actually have loved it, since Prague actually has quite a lot on offer for kids, even if it's billed as a fairly adult location. We spent two nights there, stayed at the Hilton, and concentrated on more grown-up things. I'm certainly not saying that we hired the prostitutes that, apparently, are two-a-penny. I'm just saying that we didn't watch a single episode of "Scooby Doo" during our very pleasant stay. And, frankly, that was something of a relief (with full apologies to Scooby, Scrappy and the rest of the litter). So - down to the review proper...

Pausing in Prague

Advantages: Spacious, good prices in restaurants, interesting shops, very clean, good loos
Disadvantages: Not much choice of restaurant, not much seating, no English books or papers, nothing for small children

...Twice in September this year we had to fly to and from Prague, using Czech Airlines between the UK and Cyprus. The first time we had a seven hour stopover, and had considered going out to see the city itself; however when we arrived, four things mitigated against this: 1) It was only 5.30am, and we were told that nothing much would open till 9.30 or later 2) Our hand luggage was fairly heavy, and we couldn't find anywhere to leave it 3) We were all incredibly tired 4) It was apparently three degrees Celcius outside! So having decided not to go out, we were faced with several hours in the airport. Our needs were not great. We wanted to be able to sit quietly and take it in turns to read or nap; we wanted toilets; we also wanted a restaurant of some sort with coffee (vital!) and perhaps some fruit or bread rolls...

Lovely Prague

Advantages: Possible on a small budget, Fascinating, Beautiful
Disadvantages: Sometimes hard to get around

...My husband and I took advantage of a very inexpensive deal this past weekend, and finally got to Prague. With all the things we'd heard about it, we were a bit worried that we might be disappointed, but this wasn't the case in the least. Since their "velvet revolution", Prague has taken great pride in improving their city, to make it enjoyable for tourists, while keeping its old-world charm. The architecture ranges anywhere from Gothic to Bauhause and everything in between, and then some. Fortunately, during the Communist regime the ugly mass housing projects were built on the outskirts of the city, leaving the central areas unscathed. There are several places in Prague that any short-term tourist should make a point to visit. First of all would be the old section of the town. There you'll find winding streets, charming...

PERFECTLY PRAGUE

Advantages: Fantastic city, plenty to do and see, beer still relatively cheap
Disadvantages: City is loosing some of its authencity by becoming Westernised with the likes of McDonalds popping up

...My boyfriend took me to Prague in June ? it was my birthday and Christmas present rolled into one. We spent 6 wonderful nights in the Prague Hilton, which was an amazing 5 star hotel just slightly out of the city centre but within walking distance to anywhere. We travelled with BA from Heathrow to Prague having spent the night at a Holiday Inn in Heathrow as we caught a BMI flight from Belfast the evening previously as our flight to Prague left at 7am in the morning. I can?t really comment much about booking flights or hotels as this was all done for me and as it was a present l don?t know anything about costs either. But in the travel sections of Sunday Telegraph and Times l often see very reasonable deals for 3 nights plus breaks. Also obviously the web is an excellent place to search for deals and the usual sites like...

Czech Prague Out

Advantages: History, Architecture and Culture
Disadvantages: Lots of walking, steep hills and cobbled streets

...We were planning a weekend break away but the first problem was where. I wanted somewhere with historical interest. David had always been fascinated in the culture of Prague. And so, Prague it was. Knowing we only had limited time in the city, we wanted to ensure that we got as much as possible from the trip as we could. With this in mind, I set about researching the city and its points of interest using the DK Eyewitness Travel Guide to Prague and the many sites available on the Internet particularly (http://www.prague-tourist-information.com/). We booked the flight and holiday for the cost of 300 pounds each. We could have paid less but we had specific requirements in mind for the trip. Czech Airlines ran a direct flight from Manchester which gave an arrival time of 10.30 a.m. thereby giving us almost a full two and a half days...

Mixing business and pleasure in Prague

Advantages: Great location, excellent business services
Disadvantages: Not as special as you might hope for a five star

...Finding a hotel in Prague is always a challenge - not because there are too few, rather because there's too much choice and it can be baffling if you don't know the city. I've been going to Prague since the early 1990s and have stayed in hotels ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous - some really grand (I particularly enjoyed sharing a fancy hotel near the castle with the Portuguese national football team!) and others barely better than a student hall of residence. The company I work for recently held a big regional get-together in Prague at the Radission SAS Alcron Hotel. Around 80 of us were there and with the exception of the odd hour in restaurants and one afternoon running round the city pretending to be spies, the Alcron became our home from home for most of our time. ~ Location Location Location ~ The Alcron is...

The best hotel in Prague!

Advantages: Facilities, decor, staff
Disadvantages: You cant eat in the restaurant cheaply!!

...We went to Prague in April this year. We travelled with Czech Airlines from Birmingham airport. We arrived at Prague and we took a taxi (15 euros) from the airport to the Savoy Hotel. Our first impressions when we entered Prague were "what have we done!!" The route took us along a road covered with graffitti and we kept thinking "please dont stop here!". Anyway we turned a few corners and the beauty which is Prague appeared. The Savoy Hotel is Pragues best hotel and its well deserved of its 5 Star rating. The Hotel ********** The hotel has beautiful decor. It has the old fashioned feel. Large windows and drapes and everything seems to be a deep red and gold. There is a piano player that plays at night to give it that romantic feel. Even the lift plays classical music! The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant...
