...it.
If this is the standard that is set with all PremierInn hotels then I will not think twice about making it my main stay in my future travels....
Advantages: Bang in the center of Brighton, just seconds to the Lanes. Disadvantages: It is on one of the busiest main roads in the city centre.
...Hello there. I though for my 19th review that I would diversify into something else instead of the plethora of secret agent DVD's that I've reviewed up to now, so here goes of a review into new territory?.. mobile switched off please.
For my 32nd birthday I managed to persuade my friends to come down to Brighton for the weekend to celebrate, so I booked 8 rooms for 16 of us at the PremierTravelInn in the City Centre for two nights, at a total cost of £1040.00.
So here are some more details about the place and my personal experience of staying there for two nights.
---Location---
The PremierTravelInn is situated on North Street; and is an office block conversion; North Street is notorious as being one of the busiest roads in Brighton as it is the main bus route for the majority of the services for the area. But...
Advantages: Easily navigatable website - great rooms Disadvantages: None
...PremierTravelInns are great if you are wanting a stop for one or two nights and we use them quite a lot.
I used this paticular TravelInn when I was going to a family party and didn't want to travel the 60 miles back home afterwards.
PREMIERTRAVELINNS
There have been PremierTravelInns in this country now for over twenty years and there are now 500 hotels across Britain to choose from.
One of the advertising statements from Premier is "A good night guaranteed"
The company are so confidant in this pledge that they offer your money back if you don't enjoy a good night's sleep; we have never had to take them up on this offer!!
PRICING
It is too difficult to be precise about the cost of the rooms as they vary from Inn to Inn and depending on the days you require them.
The rates at this paticular Travel...
Advantages: close to the city Disadvantages: close to the traffic
...This particular PremierTravelInn is situated on the Oxford Business Park. It is just off the A4142 on the junction with the B480 and it is opposite the Rover Works, 3 miles from Oxford city centre.
My husband originates from Wallingford near Oxford so we travel up that way occasionally to see old friends and family. We were finding it more and more difficult to find a reasonable B&B for the night. Most of them in that area are £60 upwards for a room.
BOOKING
++++++++
We booked our room online. This was very easy to do. You find the hotel that you want, then check availability. You can then choose the type of room that you want and reserve it. You only pay for the room upon arrival and it can be cancelled as close as 1pm on the day that you arrive.
You can check in after 2pm and do not need to vacate until 12pm...
Advantages: Location, customer service Disadvantages: Electrical faults, noise
...Like a lot of people I travel regularly for work. Unlike most of them, I also work in the quasi-public-sector and feel obliged therefore to restrict the expense claims to reasonable limits. I have actually been known to stay in a Youth Hostel on a business trip - but generally I opt for what have become known as 'budget hotels' - you know the ones: PremierInn (a.k.a. Travelinn as was), Travelodge, Innkeeper's Lodge.
These are the earthbound equivalents of budget airlines. No frills. But you do expect them to deliver on the basics.
Premier is probably my favourite of the three. Maybe that's because they've followed up their rebranding with a full-scale refurb of all their hotels. (Maybe it's because my most usual branch of the competition has particular limitations.)
The point of this long lead in is to establish that I...
...I can really recommend the PremierTravelInn at Weymouth, simply for the reason that it is situated less than 2 minutes walk to the Weymouth Sealife Centre, and also less than a minutes walk from Lodmoor Inn (Brewers Fayre), which the PremierInn have an all in eat as much as you like breakfast deal arrangement with the Lodmoor Inn, kids eat free if adults pay £7.50 each for all in breakfast.
If you stay over night and ask nicely they might let you use the free parking the following day so that you don't have to pay at the Weymouth Sealife Centre (should you intend to visit there).
Some key points made in other reviews, which I agree with. It is very convenient for the Sea Life Centre, the town, the beach and the ferry. Booking is really easy to do online, and if you book online you only pay for the room upon arrival (see...
Advantages: Excellent value, location Disadvantages: Basic hotel
...I try to arrange a couple of days break for my husband and myself, away from the children, every Easter holiday and we like to visit London and see the sites. If you are looking for reasonably priced accommodation in central London then PremierTravelInn is probably your best bet. I considered three - County Hall, near the London Eye; London Bridge, north side of the bridge and Southwark. I have to admit that I didn't know where Southwark was until I looked on a map and I was surprised to find out how central to everything it was, so I chose to stay here.
The PremierTravelInn Southwark is about eight minutes walk from London Bridge Underground Station - so make sure that your luggage has wheels! I struggled but had a rest in the grounds of Southwark Cathedral at the halfway point. Doctor Who fans may remember the episode...
Advantages: handy for ferry, beach, town, County Park Disadvantages: none
...This PremierTravelInn is at Lodmoor Country Park in Weymouth, and very convenient for the Sea Life Centre, the town/beach and the ferry.
We were catching a ferry from Weymouth in Dorset to Jersey at 7am on the Sunday morning. We only live a 2.5 hour drive away, but didnt want to leave anything to chance and also being pregnant, wanted to make life as easy as possible! So we booked into the PremierTravelInn at Weymouth. It is on the A353 and was 2 miles from the ferry.
We decided to visit the Sea Life centre as we had a free entry voucher from Tesco. I was still shocked at the price though as it cost £13.95 for 1 adult to get in. The centre was ok but I have seen better!
Lodmoor Country Park is quite good, there was a big slide and mini go carts for the kids, and you can park and visit all of the attractions...
Advantages: nice room Disadvantages: really bad staff in restaurant
...PremiereInn Dumfries
I stayed in this PremiereInn the night before my wedding, as it was handy to get to the castle I was getting married in the next day.
When checking I found the process very easy however some of my family members had problems, as they had not booked the room themselves.
The staff did sort it out and seemed pleasant enough. Thankfully I had no problems at all. The staff on the main reception would have helped you with any queries you had.
The hotel looked very fresh and immaculate I think it had recently been refurbished so everything was bright and vibrant.
The room was very modern, clean and not cluttered. The décor was nice mostly while and dark purple. There was a lovely canvas above the bed of what looked like round purple trees.
It was very large and you had lots of space, which was fantastic...
Advantages: close to the motorway, cheap Disadvantages: TOO close to the motorway!
...We have recently travelled up to Scotland from Devon and on the way home needed to break up the 12 hour journey. We stopped at PremierTravelInn - Preston East.
This TravelInn is literally right beside the southbound motorway near junction 31a northbound. We were travelling Southbound, so had to come off at junction 31, join the northbound and come off at junction 31a.
PRICE
++++++
We paid £48 for a room which is Friday to Sunday rates. Monday to Thursday would cost £51.
BOOKING

We had an AA Road Atlas with us and also a directory of all the PremierTravelInn's in the country. This is a very handy booklet as it has directions and location for each TravelInn.
I telephoned the Inn and was put through to a central number as they were busy. They took a provisional booking and the TravelInn called me...
