...The N64 limitations meant Midway were never going to come close to producing a perfect port of the arcade checkpoint racer, Cruis'n USA, but to rub asphalt into the wounds, the title would be censored by Nintendo (at the least animals were removed), whilst bloody fighting games Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Killer Instinct Gold avoided being butchered... Speaking of which, the frame rate gets rather choppy when driving through detailed surroundings, such as downtown San Francisco - this is also the section where the external views can be blocked, albeit partially and briefly, by cars behind. There are direction signs in Cruis'n USA but nothing to tell how tight an upcoming turn is - there is a radar for CPU presence, but no map present so you never know until too late, and traffic is sure to come blind as well. The analog stick works well...

...It may suprise some people, but America have actually got a pretty good record in World Cup. The USA were involved in some of the very first World Cups in the 1930s, some twenty years before England or any other home nation did so themselves. They cannot kid themselves that they invented the game though, and the truth now is they are really not very good. A spectacularly bad performance in France ’98 where they lost all their games and worse still losing to Iran is hopefully for them not on the cards again. I would not bet against it though. Some bright person decided that it would be a good idea to host the 1994 World Cup, a festival for the very best teams in the world in America. It would be a kick start to give the game a new popularity. Sadly it never happened, they would rather play some stupid rounders that they copied...

Rehashed in the USA

Advantages: Some good tracks
Disadvantages: Some awful tracks, probably too diverse for all tracks to appeal to one person, many of the songs are slow

Because I find track-by-track reviews are often rather dull (certainly when I write them!), I decided to review this one by artiste – so here goes… DOLLAR Dollar was a very successful duo in the 1980s. With pretty blonde Thereze Bazaar and, erm, pretty blonde David Van Day, they were perfect poster fodder for teenagers. With hits like Mirror Mirror and Oh L’Amour, they epitomised the big hair and cheesy grins of 1980s pop. David Van Day resurfaced a few years ago, desperately trying to claw back some fame and money. After a strange time of trying to be part of Bucks Fizz, he famously ended up selling from a van on a cold British seafront. Some of us were rather pleased to see the arrogance knocked out of him, but Reborn in the USA was another chance of success...

I have never travelled out of europe before and never been to such a huge country so thought i had better get clued up with lots of information about the place. I bought this book from Amazon for around £8 which is half its original price. The amazon website was really good as you could preview the contents page of this book to know whats included. The very first page has useful information such as exchange rates, temperature, conversions and emergency telephone numbers for the USA. Another really good thing about this book is that it inlcudes a colour map of the USA as a whole labelling the major cities and then throughout the book it has 140 maps of individual places which are much more detailed, highlighting where the sights and activities are...

My Experience at USA nails

...heard about a product called MMA (Methyl Methacrylate)which has been banned in America for the damage that the application (with electric files) and removal can cause to natural nails. I asked the man in the shop if it was MMA, and at first he nodded but the others in the shop shouted "NO". It looked very suspicious and I told them that I would leave it and go somewhere else. I was then ushered towards the door and basically forced to leave. They were very impolite and the place looked very dirty. Plus there was a sweet acidy odour which did not smell like standard acrylics that I have smelt in other salons. I would not recommend anybody to go to a place like this even if it is cheaper. Their cash only policy in a high street shop does not sound very above board either!!...

...Here is another live compact disc by London`s own Alien Sex Fiend. This recording took place in 1992 during the band`s U.S. tour. Prior to this, A.S.F. played in the United States Of America in 1984 and 1989. A very limited amount of these compact discs originally came with it`s own Fiendish Zillion dollar bill, however the bill is limited edition, and there weren't too many issued. I also know from experience that many music stores in the States removed the note and it was sold seperately. This is another one of my favorite recordings that I play frequently. The booklet leaves me to wonder if the band, were in need of some cash as the booklet is really cheap looking. Usually, I wouldn't judge the quality of an album by it's cover, but it's the first thing you notice when you see the cd in the store. It's quite uninspiring, and if...

...While being in another country it is always a good idea to find out about the different travel methods, as you never know when you might need to use them. I had first heard of the Greyhound buses through watching American TV shows as they sometimes mention it but it had never really meant a lot to me. It wasn't until I was travelling the west coast of North America that I came across the idea that I needed to get places and do it cheap as well which is when I googled Greyhound. To sum them up they are basically like the North American version of Megabus, cheap travel and an okish service.
