...I try to arrange a couple of days break for my husband and myself, away from the children, every Easter holiday and we like to visit London and see the sites. If you are looking for reasonably priced accommodation in central London then Premier Travel Inn is probably your best bet. I considered three - County Hall, near the London Eye; London Bridge, north side of the bridge and Southwark. I have to admit that I didn't know where Southwark was until I looked on a map and I was surprised to find out how central to everything it was, so I chose to stay here. The Premier Travel Inn Southwark is about eight minutes walk from London Bridge Underground Station - so make sure that your luggage has wheels! Premier Travel Inn, London Docklands

Advantages: Good rooms and service
Disadvantages: Quite remote

...This is a step above most of the premier travell inns I have stayed at previously. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, dealing easily with around 20 of us arriving at once in less than half an hour. The rooms are fairly standar from PTIs, which on the whole is good all round. The bathrooms are especially nice with large baths (useful for us of the larger persuation) and everything laid out nicely. The cafe/resteraunt/bar area is nice and comfortable, definately better than most of them. the availability of a pool table and awell stoked bar was a nice addition over most hotels of this type. Breakfast was well stocked and of high quality all round. The hotel itself is quite remote to look at, but is within a few minutes walk of the Excel centre (which dominates the skyline), a very nice chinese resteraunt...

Did Obama spend G20 at the Beckton Premier Inn?

Advantages: Well located to travel to Docklands part of London
Disadvantages: Not the best area

..., mushroom and even some vegetarian options, which I was pleased to see. This would be a good introduction for our transatlantic guests to British cuisine, at least the lower end of it. CONCLUSION This is pretty good for short business stays and is well kept with a decent restaurant in the hotel. I can recommend this for the quality of the rooms and facilities. I'm not that taken with the area it's in, but I would say that it wasn't too noisy though, given the location of the hotel. I am not sure I can recommend it for Presidential visits, but I am sure President Obama would enjoy a decent nights sleep here. ...Thanks for reading my review, I have done a full review of the Premier Inn London Kensington below however if you are simply interested in the advantages and disadvantages of the hotel I've placed a little summary at the bottom of the page. I'll start by saying this for the Premier Inn Kensington, either it does not cash in on big events such as West End Live, or it does not know about them. Eye Eye - its a premier location

Advantages: Prime location and you know what you get with a premier inn
Disadvantages: Room temperature and sitting families further away from buffet breakfast

...Hotel Premier Inn - County Hall, London Location Hotel is located right by the London Eye, it does not face the Thames / Eye , but faces 180 degrees the other way. We could see the Eye from our room - although this is not a photo opportunity view. The location is central and convenient. Nearest tube is probably Waterloo and on the other side of the Thames - Westminster. Accross the road from the hotel are a number of eateries. I personally felt there was no issue with noise at this hotel. Price I paid £119 per night, and breakfast was £15.60 per day for 2 adults (free breakfast for each child per each full paying adult). ...I have never stayed in the Premier Inn before, but I felt I had to share my experience of the past weekend. The staff in both reception and the restaurant were fantastic, they were really helpful and made you feel right at home. The room and bathroom were both spotless, warm and the freeview television meant that my daughter didn't miss her soaps while she was away. The bed was both big and comfortable and we didn't have any trouble getting to sleep. We opted for the breakfast deal and we were not disappointed, the food was well cooked and warm there was also plenty of choice. Vaguely London Without Vaguely London Prices

Manchester to Enfield for a 9am start is just too horrible to contemplate, so when we had a trampolining competition there we decided to make a weekend of it, and booked into the Premier Travelinn next door to the venue for one night only. There were 13 of us so we rang in advance, booked several rooms and specified names and sleeping arrangements (twins / doubles / one single) prior to arrival. However, on getting there at around 8pm we were told that really we should have faxed this information through with a credit card authorization so they could have checked us in before we arrived. Since we hadn't been asked to do this when we booked, we had to spend almost 30 minutes going through the usual name / nationality / number plate form filling formalities. Stranded in London!

Advantages: Excellent central location; good bars and restaurants
Disadvantages: Rooms a bit old fashioned; a little pricey

..." - the inner courtyard of the hotel with the humming air conditioners at the bottom. I can live (or sleep) with that, but there was also an awful rattling, like pipes, coming from somewhere in the ceiling. We went back downstairs to complain, and were told there were no other rooms. After standing our ground they eventually checked us in to an alternative room on the 4th floor. A little bigger, but still not brilliant - probably "average", from past business stays down in London hotels. The reception staff weren't particularly friendly, as other reviews have mentioned. Despite being "club" rooms, all that appeared to be different was the decor. Instead of old-fashioned wall-to-wall flowerey decor and furnishings, it was plain duck-egg walls, and a "modern" bed (faux-leather headboard and plain brown and green blankets). Not worth the extra money...
