Premier Inn Caerphilly - Great Hotel

Disadvantages: Could be a little bit closer to city centre

.... It was first time ever, me and my girlfriend decided to spend a weekend in Premier Inn Caerphilly. We spent there a bank holiday weekend in August. Wanted to book hotel in Cardiff but unfortunately everything was fully booked because of Madonna's concert. Were not really happy because of that but decided to reserve room. Hotel Hotel is placed 7 and half miles away from Cardiff, which is not far. If you have car you can park it for free in hotels parking. If not - there is number 26 bus route every two hours going to Cardiff. The nearest bus stop is only 5 minutes walk from hotel. Breakfast is not included in price of this hotel but you can order it when booking or on site. If you want to treat yourself with full breakfast it will cost you £7.50. You can have as much as you like. They offer some premium pork sausages...

Premier Inn Caerphilly - Ideal Hotel if on a budget

Advantages: Nice cheap hotel, very clean & comfortable
Disadvantages: none

...I first stayed in this hotel a few years ago because it was the only hotel I could get into for the WRC, we stayed there for a weekend. We had never stayed at a Premier Inn before & we were very pleasantly surprised - the hotel is situated just off a large roundabout, (it is very easy to get to) & we found it very peaceful with no traffic noise what so ever. The hotel is not very far from Cardiff so you can either drive in or the hotel has a bus stop close by and Caerphilly has a train station with a train running to cardiff at regular intervals, due to the horrible one way system in Cardiff we chose to catch the train in, it was only £4ish return & you get off right outside the Millenium Stadium. From the outside the Hotel looked in very good condition & the inside was in just as nice condition, the reception was excellent - friendly...

...The Marriot Hotel , Cardiff. Location: This hotel is 50m from the main strip of pubs and clubs in the throbbing centre of Cardiff. It is only 200m from the train station, and clearly visible from it. The location could not be better for a stay in the city. Price: I paid 110 pounds for a normal double room, with 2 for breakfast, though checking the board in the hotel the 'rack rate' for that room is 165 pounds, so there stands a testament to booking on the internet! Lobby: As you walk through the doors it is clear that this is a 'higher market' hotel. The huge floral display on the main table helped to give it away! Cardiff Marriott Hotel

Advantages: Ideal location
Disadvantages: Have to pay to use the hotel's car park

...I stayed at the Cardiff Marriott Hotelin December 2003 and I believe there are many advantages of staying here but that there are also disadvantages. I shall take you through the pro's and con's so that you get a clear picture for yourselves. The main advantage was that the Marriott is situated in an ideal location- it is only a few meters away fro a row of pubs and restaurants and around 10 minutes walking time from the main street in Cardiff. The Hotel itself is very impressive on the inside- everywhere is very clean and shiny! There is a bar there and a restaurant and a gym/spa. The gym is quite large and for each treadmill there is tv. The pool itself is also large and you get a clean towel each time you go into the gym or the pool. ...Having worked for 25 days in succession I finally got the opportunity to get the day off; this was cut short by a telephone call requesting I shift my backside to Cardiff as I was "Urgently Required". I tried to get out of working this night but you don't argue with these people or you never get any work again. Being in rather a bad mood I requested they find me a good hotel as I was exhausted. ...Stood on the corner of Mary Ann Street and Bute Terrace, the Jury's hotel in Cardiff is certainly not the most attractive of buildings. In fact, it's a red-brick monstrosity, and as I stepped out of my taxi, I had this feeling that I was in for a bad night. With steely resolve, I gripped my luggage and decided that it was too late to change my mind now - and boy am I glad I didn't. Location, Location, Location Sat directly opposite the Cardiff International Arena, the Jury's Inn is extremely well-positioned for most of the city's main attractions. The railway station is no more than a ten minute walk door to door. The main shopping centre is just a stone's throw. There are plenty of bars, pubs and clubs and it's also within real walking distance of the Millenium Stadium. As city centres go, I always find Cardiff very compact anyway...
