Good Hotel for exploring Bristol
Advantages: Clean, comfy, modern
Disadvantages: Very expensive restarant and bar, rather sad swimming pool and gym
...This hotel in in the centre of Bristol within waling distance of Temple Meads Station. If you know Bristol then you will know that this location then might mean convenience but it's not gorgeous - a lot of Bristol was bombed in the war and rebuilt in the 50s and 60s and it shows! The hotel itself is newer than that though, but when you arrive it does look a bit tired and in need of a facelift.
Parking is available and not difficult, though like most city centre budget hotels you have to pay extra for it, but I thought the £3.50 a night quite a good rate. It seemed a secure car park.
.
I checked in swiftly and the receptionist was helpful and friendly. I paid £104 a night for two people for an executive double (i.e. one grade up from the standard one) over the internet before we went. The hotel has a lot of floors (we were...

Jarvis Hotel, Bristol
Advantages: Good leisure club,nice rooms
Disadvantages: Unfriendly staff
...The Jarvis Hotel is a couple of miles north of Bristol in an area called Winterbourne. As a former country house built in the mid 19th century and with extensive grounds it has every going for it as a hotel. The Jarvis group have spent a lot of money refurbishing the place including an excellent Poolside leisure Club with swimming pool, spa, solarium and under-utilised exercise equipment. As is often the case the pool is a little small and you soon learn how a goldfish must feel swimming around the same extent of water only about 6 times your body length.
The rooms in the old part of the hotel are quite spacious but you may find those in the newer part little better than a motorway lodge for size. They are clean and tidy and have the obligatory tea-making facilities. All rooms are en-suite. The bar is cramped but nearby is a huge...

I first came across Thistle Bristol on a romantic weekend away with my boyfriend in 2001 We chose it because it was on special offer in the Daily Mail, and it looked fabulous in the photos. Since then we?ve been back every October to celebrate our anniversary.
Located around 1 mile from Bristol Temple Meads station, this Thistle hotel sits right in the heart of the town centre ? 3 minutes walk from the main shopping centre, and 3 minutes from the nearest pubs and restaurants. Great for us because we don?t drive. Car parking is available at an extra charge.
At first sight I was very impressed! A charming Old Victorian style building. The rooms are equally...

Thistling in Bristol
Advantages: Very nice service
Disadvantages: Very NOT nice prices
..., Bristol, and Birmingham and have typically found the same service up and down the country and the hotels are pretty much identical! The service and rooms up and down the country are all a mirror image of each other. Initially I found this bizarre but now I’m used to the same spiel I get and automatically answer “no” to “Would you like a wake up call?” and “Ok then” to “Would you like a complimentary paper?”
This time I stayed a Thistle Hotel in Bristol Temple Meads. I didn’t see much of Bristol but the city centre, which is where the hotel is located, is very pretty and parts of it have a village atmosphere with its little personal shops as opposed to the big bustling commercial streams of department stores.
I arrived in the evening and entered what was a pretty grand looking...

Nippy Hotel.
Advantages: great hotel
Disadvantages: prices
...Intro
Me and my boyfriend visited this hotel in July 2009. We stayed for 3 nights, but although we only went bed and breakfast, we were able to access all the services which was great!
Food
The breakfast was great we had so much to choose from. There was toast, cereals, cooked breakfast, yoghurt's and fruit. We didn't have chance to have a meal at the hotel but it was around £15.00 for a set three course meal which was not too bad at all!
Location
This hotel is located on Redcliffe Way in Bristol. It couldn't have been in a more perfect location in my opinion. It was close to the city centre an we often walked into the city for shopping or eating!
The Hotel Itself
This hotel is part of the Ramada chain and it was very clean- housemaids cleaned every morning, the room service was expensive as imaginable but what can you do...

...HEATHROW PREMIER TRAVEL INN

Whitbread are the owners of Premier Travel Inn and they believe Premier Travel Inn offers the UK's best value for money accommodation, with rooms from around £50.00 per night. They claim that one of their hotels is within 5 miles of 75 percent of the UK population and that they not only provide great accommodation but also great food. The hotels are great for either business or pleasure and for business clients many of the hotels have on site meeting facilities.

Premier Inn, Charing Cross Glasgow
Advantages: Close to town and all amenities
Disadvantages: none
...I have never stayed in the Premier Inn before, but I felt I had to share my experience of the past weekend.
The staff in both reception and the restaurant were fantastic, they were really helpful and made you feel right at home.
The room and bathroom were both spotless, warm and the freeview television meant that my daughter didn't miss her soaps while she was away. The bed was both big and comfortable and we didn't have any trouble getting to sleep.
We opted for the breakfast deal and we were not disappointed, the food was well cooked and warm there was also plenty of choice.
Access to the hotel was excellent for both able bodied and non-able bodied people, we didn't have a wheelchair but we did have a six month old baby and a pram, and even though it is situated next to Charing Cross rail station we didn't hear a thing from...

Premier Inn Caerphilly - Great Hotel
Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: Could be a little bit closer to city centre
....
It was first time ever, me and my girlfriend decided to spend a weekend in Premier Inn Caerphilly.
We spent there a bank holiday weekend in August. Wanted to book hotel in Cardiff but unfortunately everything was fully booked because of Madonna's concert. Were not really happy because of that but decided to reserve room.
Hotel
Hotel is placed 7 and half miles away from Cardiff, which is not far. If you have car you can park it for free in hotels parking. If not - there is number 26 bus route every two hours going to Cardiff. The nearest bus stop is only 5 minutes walk from hotel.
Breakfast is not included in price of this hotel but you can order it when booking or on site. If you want to treat yourself with full breakfast it will cost you £7.50. You can have as much as you like. They offer some premium pork sausages...

Premier Inn Caerphilly - Ideal Hotel if on a budget
Advantages: Nice cheap hotel, very clean & comfortable
Disadvantages: none
...I first stayed in this hotel a few years ago because it was the only hotel I could get into for the WRC, we stayed there for a weekend.
We had never stayed at a Premier Inn before & we were very pleasantly surprised - the hotel is situated just off a large roundabout, (it is very easy to get to) & we found it very peaceful with no traffic noise what so ever.
The hotel is not very far from Cardiff so you can either drive in or the hotel has a bus stop close by and Caerphilly has a train station with a train running to cardiff at regular intervals, due to the horrible one way system in Cardiff we chose to catch the train in, it was only £4ish return & you get off right outside the Millenium Stadium.
From the outside the Hotel looked in very good condition & the inside was in just as nice condition, the reception was excellent - friendly...
