In a Premier League of it's own.

Advantages: Clean, comfy, great breakfast
Disadvantages: The view wasn't great

.... *THE MORNING AFTER* At all Premier Inn hotels, the room has to be vacated by noon, whereas with many other hotels it's usually 10:00, so we got a little extra lie in, which is ALWAYS nice. We left the room, having had a GREAT nights sleep, and along the way bumped into a few staff members who once again were polite, saying morning and asking how our stay was, which was nice, we handed in our key card at reception and were on our way. *OVERALL* Overall my experience at the Premier Inn was a great one. It does state on the website that MOST hotels have adapted rooms for guests with disabilities, however i'm unsure if the Premier Inn in Chesterfield has, but obviously you could always phone up and enquire. The room and general hotel was spotless, and the whole atmosphere of the hotel was calm and relaxing. The price wasn't too bad to...

Premier Inn, Charing Cross Glasgow

Advantages: Close to town and all amenities
Disadvantages: none

...I have never stayed in the Premier Inn before, but I felt I had to share my experience of the past weekend. The staff in both reception and the restaurant were fantastic, they were really helpful and made you feel right at home. The room and bathroom were both spotless, warm and the freeview television meant that my daughter didn't miss her soaps while she was away. The bed was both big and comfortable and we didn't have any trouble getting to sleep. We opted for the breakfast deal and we were not disappointed, the food was well cooked and warm there was also plenty of choice. Access to the hotel was excellent for both able bodied and non-able bodied people, we didn't have a wheelchair but we did have a six month old baby and a pram, and even though it is situated next to Charing Cross rail station we didn't hear a thing from...

Next destination: LYON FRANCE!

Advantages: It's beauty
Disadvantages: The pollution

...of the Beaujolais hills, and only a few hours away from the Massif Central, the volcanic region West of Lyon in the center of France. You're only two hours away from Paris by train and an hour and a half from Marseille. If you don't want to go too far away from the city, you can venture up into the Monts du Lyonnais, picturesque hills right outside of Lyon (on the West side). The City from West to East A city that is over two thousand years old previously named Lugdunum by the Romans that first established the city on the Fourvière hills were you can find Roman ruins (the amphi-theatre). Two rivers cross the city: the Rhône and the Saône. The city is the location of their meeting point. As I mentioned already, the Romans established their community on the Fourvière hill (West). You can find the Vieux Lyon neighborhood right at the foot...

HOW OTHERS LIVE IN FRANCE ?

Advantages: Fun in places, though not many. Good start.
Disadvantages: Weak storyline.

...limited to a small part of the local Mayor, who probably does figure in English people's lives, (and who on this occasion was portrayed as pompous which is not usually the case in villages that I know about), a handicapped girl who is employed as a sweeper upper, and a builder that seems to be shagging around the ladies that live in the village, which I found both insulting to him and to the portrait of British ladies living in France. Although he does have some endearing qualities, he comes over as pitifully weak and certainly not French in his mannerisms or his attitude towards others. This really is not true to life, or remotely convincing as a story. I was disappointed through and through. It says on the cover "Who hasn't dreamed of running away from it all ?", and whilst this is true what the story showed was people that don't just run...

AGAY Experience in France

Advantages: An unspoilt backwater in a sea of development
Disadvantages: Could be too quiet for some

...Calm down, there's no need to panic girls - it's not what you think. I haven't forsaken the lovely Mrs P. for the adventures of pastures new. Although there have been times whe..... You just weren't reading the title properly, were you? Have another look. AGAY - A small beach resort in the South of France between St. Raphael and Cannes. Phew! That's a relief! Let's start with a little bit of advice: If you would like to search on the web for some pictures of this picturesque little town, be prepared for some explicit images of a non-family nature. How can I put it? If you're not interested in seeing large, hairy, naked men in various poses, don't do it! If, on the other hand, you are - then feel free. Anyway.... After our hectic culture overload in Arles, it was off to the beach for a couple of days R&R (that's rest...

The Final Destination in 3D - Death's final outing is a good one

Advantages: 3D is fully used, bloody like a horror should be, brilliant ending that wraps up the films well
Disadvantages: 3D is really the only standout feature, acting only okay, some dodgy effects masked by 3D

...As a fan of the final destination films I am pleased to say that the latest offering does not disappoint though I am sure a large measure of that is down to the fact that it is in 3D. In my opinion there is no question that making horrors in 3D works - there is no better genre to take advantage of 3D with various weapons, blood and guts flying out at you - and in this case they have used the 3D format exceptionally well. To give an example, and without spoiling any of the plot, when one of the victims has their head destroyed by a flying tyre the impact of the 3D is truly felt with the trye screaming towards you and then bits of her brain flying all over the place. The plot is, however, pretty much the same as all the previous installments though this one does end very well and in my mind ties up all the previous films - this has...

BUY A HOUSE IN FRANCE, CESSPIT AND ALL

Advantages: People need to be informed.
Disadvantages: None.

...?Urbanism will not be granted, and this is essential because without it, you cannot renovate. Little by little, there are changes afoot which will affect the price of the house that you purchase. This year, there are no rules on Central heating systems, but I know that next year there will be and the rules are stringent and all installations that do not have sufficient venting will be asked to come up to regulated standards which could cost a fortune. Another test which has not yet started but is likely in the near future is one to test for radiation. In other countries in the EEC they have found that granite contains radium and these tests could make your purchase in France a really bad option to sell in the future because once the tests are established and you have had one, you cannot then sell the house without making the future owner aware...

Please Make This *The* Final Destination

Advantages: Good premise
Disadvantages: Lack of elaborate deaths, no imaginative plot like others, doesn't live up to the hype

...While at the races, Nick (Bobby Campo) has a shocking premonition about a horrific crash that will happen and in turn will lead to all the other drivers crashing and killing numerous innocent people in the audience. This leads Nick to a state of panic and in this state he mistakenly hits another member of the audience, a scrap entails and security escorts Nick, his girlfriend, two friends and a group of other audience members out of the area. Nick tells them about the impending crash which happens seconds later. Unnerved by the events, Nick wants to forget about what happened and get on with his life however when the survivors begin to die one by one, suspicion is aroused that maybe the subsequent events aren?t just shocking coincidences and are something a bit more sinister? Being a big fan of the Final Destination trilogy I had...

Diamond review  Shopping in France, mum and I having a day out!

Advantages: Quick, Easy, no walking or stairs for the disabled.
Disadvantages: I can't think of any.

...Well, the Channel Tunnel. Lets start with a bit of history here. Apparently they had been digging it or trying to for far far longer than I can remember, or even my mother who is my travelling companion. According to my mum the original idea was Napoleon's. So, what is it? I have had a look at the website, and read all about it and now I know more than I did just by travelling along it, so in short, Euro tunnel is a long tunnel that goes under the sea joining France to England. There are three tunnels, the English end starts in Folkestone, Kent and the other end is in Coquelles, France, that is near Calais. I didn't know there were three tunnels, usually they only use two single track rail tunnels and the trains go in one direction only, which means you go along one tunnel on the way there and come back on the other tunnel...

The low-down on being in France

Advantages: A vast amount of information
Disadvantages: Rather small print

...This guide begins with an extensive section, about eighty pages long, to refer to before you travel. It gives details on possible ways of getting to France from Britain, Ireland, North America, Australia and New Zealand. There is information on costs, whether or not you wil require a visa, and what health issues need to be considered. Insurance, getting around, accommodation and information for disabled visitors are among other topics dealt with in this introductory section. An overview of eating and drinking gives useful vocabulary as well as what to expect in the way of regional cuisine, from duck and goose in the Dordogne to pickled cabbage and flans in Alsace. Communications and the media gives information on sending and receiving mail as well as making telephone calls. There is a guide to opening hours of museums, banks...
