...The Bitburger brewery, in the Rhineland, was originally founded in 1817 by Johann Peter Wallenborn as a brewpub producing traditional German ale. In 1876, his grandson Theobold Simon built a new brewery dedicated to cold-fermenting beers, using the first pure strain of lager yeast perfected in the Carlsberg laboratories in Copenhagen. In 1908 the brewery launched a beer called Original Simonbrau Deutsch Pilsener, which resulted in the Pilsen brewers beginning court proceedings to prevent the use of the term Pilsener. A high court in Cologne in 1913 ruled that Pilsener was a style rather than an appellation, but it called on all German brewers to state the place of origin of their beers to avoid any suggestion that they came from Pilsen. When Simon changed its name to Bitburger it called its beer Bitburger-Pilsener. As time went by...

Tiger Beer

Advantages: A tasty drop of lager
Disadvantages: None, specifically, that I can pick out

...large 640ml glass bottles, whereas restaurants will obviously sell it in smaller, 300ml (approx.) bottles. But all this talk of it's history, appearance etc. etc, what about the most important aspect of all...the taste? Being a lager, it's naturally gassy, which is significant for some. Although not a premium lager, it's taste is strong, and certainly hits your tastebuds far stronger than American lagers such as Budweiser or Rolling Rock, and even some European ones like Kronenburg or Stella Artois. An obvious similarity in taste, in my opinion, would be Grolsch - which is a plus - you can certainly taste and enjoy this beer. So, with it's long, successful history, Tiger obviously has an advantage over many of it's counterparts with it comes to it's CV! A disappointing bit of stuff

Advantages: It's wet.
Disadvantages: Cheap plastic bottle, little flavour

...thousands of others brews. Maybe next time I?m passing through Germany I can try a ?glass one? to see whether there really is a difference. In the mean time there are plenty of other lagers and pilsners out there which are much superior to this one. Sorry, I won?t be buying this one again. Really a 'Premium Selection'?

Advantages: Some really tasty biscuits
Disadvantages: Some really average biscuits, packaging, price might be an issue for some too.

I've always loved chocolate covered treats ever since I was a young girl and biscuits were always at the top of my break time menu when I was still stuck in primary school. As I've gotten a bit older, my love for the sugary snacks has altered a little; I don't eat biscuits of any kind very often but when I do, it is always when I really do crave their sweetness and delicious contents. One of the first things that drew me to Sainsbury's Premium Chocolate and Cream Biscuits was the fact that there was a good selection to choose from and, as the name implies, a little bit special compared to some of the other brands out there.
