Review of Budweiser Budvar Czech Premium Lager

FANCY BOTTLE, FANCY LAGER

Advantages: Variety of sizes, good taste
Disadvantages: Quite strong, waste of glass??

...OK, maybe not. I've only just written about Carling beer - rather weak and gassy, in another opinion, now it's the turn of something stronger and classier!! I'm not a great one for drinking lagers and beers these days - I used to favour bitter and stout but am now more inclined towards wine or spirits. However I do get to taste a variety of lagers courtesy of my boyfriend who is rather partial and doesn't stay overly loyal to any one brand/type. I know two of his favourites are Stella Artois and Grolsch Premium Lager - so we'll examine the latter today! They do have impressive bottles I must admit - especially the larger sizes which have the trademark flip open top with metal clips. Stella Artois Premium Lager

Advantages: the taste
Disadvantages: hangover

...time to drink it is when it is chilled. Don’t drink it when it is warm because it will taste crap. If you want you can add some lime you make it that much better. Where to buy it The best place to buy it would be a supermarket because they sometimes have offers on. But the number one place to buy it would be the cash and carry. You can get 24 bottles for about £10 which I think is a bargain! Conclusion So overall I recommend this lager, it will bring you lots of happiness and joy. So go on buy yourself some Stella Artois premium lager, you won’t regret it....

A great Dutch Lager

Advantages: Refreshing. High Quality. Excellent bottle.

Advantages: Refreshing. Light. Pleasant Flavour

Best premium strength lager on the go

Advantages: Tastes like an angel weeping on your tongue
Disadvantages: I know you pay for quality but at nearly a quid a can it burns quite a large hole in you pocket

...It's amazing how different Carlsberg and Carlsberg export actually taste. They are two premium strength beers made obviously, by the same company. But in the taste department there is really only one winner. You could be suckered into thinking that as they are both Carlsberg beers, then they would probably taste very similar. This however, is definately not the case. I was never a big fan of the original Carlsberg because it always tasted a little on the cheap and nasty side (a bit like skol) rather bland in flavour and very fizzy. Probably the best lager in the world? I think not. However, with the Carlsberg export variety the taste is refreshing, crisp and clean and extremely palatable. Probably THE most wonderful lager in the world

Advantages: taste, taste, taste
Disadvantages: not one of the cheapies unless on offer

...IT? As I said in in "advantages", I like the taste. It's not too sweet, or too dry, and it doesn't leave a nasty taste behind when you swallow it. Some lagers are like that, I've noticed. It smells quite deliciously beery, too, and it has a goood head on it, even a while after its been poured. I'm looking at a bottle of it now, and there's a little head on it- inside the bottle!! Doesn't make you feel full of air like some lagers. Therefore fewer burps. IE it's not too fizzy. I think that's becasue the ingredients are all natural -from water, to barley to hops -and that's it..no preservatives or anything. It's a lovely colour-to me. Best premium lager available

Advantages: Price, availablity, taste, quality
Disadvantages: Boring people to death talking about its merits

...Of all the lagers available in the pubs of the UK, Staropramen is three things which the others are not - inexpensive, tasty and widely available. Lagers such as Stella Artois, available in almost every pub, are pricey and frankly not-that-great. Becks, Carlsberg, Carling and Heineken, the cheap alternatives, are weak and completely untasty. There are a few other lagers which are either local brews or specialist lagers, which can be tasty and cheap but are often only available near where they are made or in true fanatics' establishments. Staropramen, on the other hand, combines all these qualities. Usually cheaper than Stella Artois, it is great tasting (refreshing, full-bodied and punchy) and is sold on-tap at most pubs. Probably the best lager in the world?

Advantages: Great taste,nice smell,very smooth.
Disadvantages: Makes other lagers seem rubbish in comparison.

Carlsberg, to be brutally honest, isn?t my favourite lager, but is without a doubt one of the finest around. You can get the lager pretty much anywhere, in pubs (both off the tap and in bottles), it is one of the few ales served at night clubs (as opposed to sickly alcopops) and of course in supermarkets and off licenses in cans and bottles. Carlsberg is one of the few lagers that is smooth and doesn?t have a grainy aftertaste, a quality that makes it so enjoyable to drink. Grolsch Lager, hail to the King !!

Advantages: An acquired taste, but great when you?re hooked !!
Disadvantages: Not good when writing reviews!, can produce a beer gut !
