Scream... it broke all the rules.

Advantages: Unpredictable. Good performances. Witty
Disadvantages: can be gory in parts

...Scream (1996) was the one that broke all the rules and revitalized how the audience viewed horror/slasher movies as Kevin Williamson's screenplay and Wes Craven's direction found, and used, the satire in the genre. Throughout the film there are a lot of 'red herrings' to throw the audience of track which makes it interesting rather that the usual predictability of this type of film. I Screamed

Advantages: Great Gory Film!
Disadvantages: Bit dull in places

...Ah, the first part of an excellent trilogy from Wes Craven. With the murder of poor old Drew Barrymore at the very beginning giving us a taste for blood, we take part in a brillaitn send-up of all the horror movies, which still maintains to make you Scream. Neve Campbell plays the young Sidney Prescott in the film, who becomes the target of the psychotic killer, and she manages to pull off the 'helpless teenage American victim' stereotype perfectly, whilst still giving us plenty to look at! Wes has given us another brilliant film that combines a great script with good cinema, which is definately one of the best horror films I have seen...but hey, it's not for the ickle kids to watch tho!...

Advantages: all round good entertainment
Disadvantages: is it a comedy or a horror?

...Scream 2 follows the same basic formula as the first but isn't, in my opinion, as good as the first was, that is not to put down this film because it was very good on it's own merits, but no compared to the first. Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is now in college and is once again the target of a bloodthirsty mask-wearing, knife-wielding, psychotic killer. However this time the body count is higher and the deaths are more outrageous and elaborate, which are the traits of a sequel, as noted by one of the victims. Also starring Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Jamie Kenedy and Omar Epps. The Scream films as a whole are comedy type horrors and this is not disappointing as a comedy, it had me and my friends rolling around in laughter (mainly at Dewy, Arquette) as well as hiding in fear. ...When the Labour government was elected, John Prescott said that he wants to keep the fuel tax escalater which was introduced by the tories. The reason behind this, was because he wanted to see more people opt for public transport, and that if he did not raise prices, then it would encourage people to use their cars. He also promised more money for public transport schemes. During the fuel protests, Tony Blair said that if he gave in to these demands, and lowered fuel prices then the NHS would suffer, and we would end up paying more tax from other sources. Therefore, can John Prescott explain his original intentions of raising fuel prices.
