The green leaves are small lance shaped. The golden rod Latin species name Solidago has several varieties a dwarf one growing 15cm tall and others growing growing 1.5 meters tall. The golden rod is a perennial plant that flowers in the late summer through the autumn. This plant is fairly easy to care for in the garden it likes a well drained soil. The golden rod is attractive to some butterflies and insects. West of the Wall by Marcia Preston. A good read.

Advantages: Good story set in an interesting period of time.
Disadvantages: Slightly unbelievable at times.

Rod's Mod Again

Advantages: Stunning, both musically and vocally

In the seventies, Rod Stewart was a superb r&b singer who collaborated with some greats and wrote great melodies and lyrics ('You Wear it Well', 'Maggie May', 'Mandolin Wind' to name but three)and sang them with pure, raw emotion. Comfortable and quiet in Preston

Advantages: Easy access, Marriott standards and deals, very comfortable

...great value at £23.50 per head. On the Saturday, after an enjoyable day out in Preston and Fleetwood, we had a great time sitting outside the front of the hotel with a drink, watching the wedding parties come and go, and the various musicians entertain them. We had been rather worried that we could not book our evening meal until 8pm, and this proved to be justified. Our theory is that is there is a 9pm watershed in most hotel restaurants and if you are not finished by then, things go pear-shaped. Sure enough, we enjoyed our starters and main courses but had to wait around 30 minutes for our desserts, although at least one couple waited longer and then they walked out. Again, the general food and service were great apart from that problem. There appeared to be a children's menu and the staff were particularly helpful with young guests...

...We have recently travelled up to Scotland from Devon and on the way home needed to break up the 12 hour journey. We stopped at Premier Travel Inn - Preston East. This Travel Inn is literally right beside the southbound motorway near junction 31a northbound. We were travelling Southbound, so had to come off at junction 31, join the northbound and come off at junction 31a. PRICE ++++++ We paid £48 for a room which is Friday to Sunday rates. Monday to Thursday would cost £51. BOOKING ++++++++ We had an AA Road Atlas with us and also a directory of all the Premier Travel Inn's in the country. This is a very handy booklet as it has directions and location for each Travel Inn. I telephoned the Inn and was put through to a central number as they were busy. ...Holding this rod in your hand you could really think you were holding a rod worth well over £200, and when you find it is less than £100 you realise what a great value bit of kit this really is. A super slim blank makes the rod look great and understated markings really make it feel like a custom built rod. I use the 3lb tc model and it really is a superb all rounder, the rod really can cast, hitting 100 yards with ease and going well over that mark when needed. Also it can play a fish, it is not too stiff so you suffer hook pulls. It is finished to a very high quality, with full fuji rings, with a well proportioned 40mm butt ring, couple this with a FUJI DNPS reel seat, you can tell it is a quality piece of kit, worth well over its price tag. It consists of joint efforts from Leeda, FOSTERS fishing shop in Birmingham, and well known match ace - Dave Harrell, their chief tester). The range is now qite huge, and I bought this rod actually not knowing much about it. I went for it beacuse of the good reputation the make has, and also it's classification as an allround match rod. I didn't want anything too light because I often catch a lot of carp on my travels (in fact, most of the waters down here in Cornwall, hold them as the predominent species), mostly upto about 8lbs.
