...It’s not often that a really good game comes along; while the GameCube has had its fair share of smash hits, with the likes of Pikmin, TimeSplitters 2 and Smash Bros. Melee, nothing has come close to the magic of Mario 64 or the genius of Ocarina of Time. Until now. Metroid Prime isn’t just another good game, you don’t just turn it on and think you’re playing a great game, you think you’re playing a part of history… For some, the control system in Prime can be a bit of a drag, but this really isn’t the case. Whilst, yes, it is very different to most games, but there’s a very good reason for this. It’s not an FPS (First Person Shooter). Yes, whilst screenshots of the game may give that impression, it’s nothing like an FPS. Advantages: Refined Gameplay, Epic Boss Battles

...It was at E3 in 2001 when people started to worry about this game. Shigeru Miyamoto himself stated that there would be no demonstration of the game due to ‘personal concerns’ and that the game would have to go through re-evaluation. However in 2002 the latest screenshots and test plays showed signs of it being a truly great game. Now people are claiming it to be the best game on the GameCube yet. Metroid Prime is the new addition to the popular Metroid series. While it was never that big in its home territory of Japan the Western gamers lapped up the adventures of the bounty hunter Samus Aran. Now Retro Studios has brought the series into a vast 3D world. Advantages: Brilliant game play

...This game is brilliant I virtually completed the first, Metroid Prime, but failed as the final boss was a killer. However this game has to be my favourite game at this current time. It's brilliant. *Packaging* The case is the usual DVD style case. The front cover shoes the main character within the game preparing to fire her gun at something and a large target is around the gun. Behind her shows an unusual squinted eye alien that doesn't look to pleasant and then there are various shades of dark colours and what looks like a planet near the bottom left hand corner. There is also various number and shape printed over the main character and the background that are numbers, lines, rectangles and so on these are in a see through baby blue colour. The spine simply shows the words Metroid Prime Echo's in the same style as the front... Read review

...The Optimus Prime Big Rig Blaster is one of a number of Transformer toys known as Vehicle Arm blasters. These Transformers are unusual in that rather than transforming from a vehicle to a robot, they turn from the vehicle into the robot's gun, held in the robot's hand and forearm, which can be worn by the user. This particular toy is based on the character of Optimus Prime, the leader of the heroic Autobots who has appeared in all of the many iterations of the Transformers TV series that have been made over the years. -Vehicle Mode- Optimus Prime's vehicle mode is a Trailer Rig, that's an articulated lorry to you and me. The truck is quite large (about 40 cm long) and is well sculpted and nice and chunky. It has rolling wheels but due to the transformation the cab is not articulated. Advantages: Depth, Longevity, Atmosphere, Clever Puzzles, Totally Playable
Disadvantages: Too similar to its predecessor?

...When Metroid Prime intially hit the shelves it was critically acclaimed and deemed by many enthusiasts (myself included) to be the best game on the GameCube. So when Retro Studios announced they were making a sequel to this game, it got many a Nintendo gamer's heart in all of a flutter. Surely if they just got rid of some of the (very few) niggles of the first game, then thi iteration would be superferlous? Well that was the plan anyway. Gladly, through further guidance by Nintendo themselves, Retro Studios using the same engine as Metroid Prime, set out to make a sequel, with the results being truly that of a masterpiece. The whole Metroid series is based around a heroine (yes a lady!) by the name of Samus Aran, who is an intergalatic bounty hunter. ...The Metroid franchise is undoubtedly one of the most popular that Nintendo has to offer. And with good reason. Every instalment of the series presented something, new, unique and wonderful. Infact Super Metroid is considered by many to be the greatest game ever made. But while I'm not about to praise the game that much, I can still understand why the hardcore fans of the series cried bloody murder when nintendo announced that Metroid Prime would be not only in 3-D but also in first person. And on top of that, they were entrusting the development of the game to a production studio that no one had ever heard of. But now it seems that everyone who said that Metroid Prime would be just another generic FPS game now find themselves with their feet firmly inserted in their mouths, because MP is anything but generic. Advantages: Very funny,Miss Brodie is a legendary character and you'll quote it over and over.
Disadvantages: You really have to pay attention and you feel as if the author is laughing at you at times.

...Surely any novel which contains the words " I am a woman in my prime" must be extremely funny and the answer is.. yes. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is on occasion, achingly amusing, laugh out loud funny, but underneath all this amusement there is a much darker side. The novel takes place in Edinburgh, after the war between the years of 1936-1946. The girls of the Marcia Blaine school are particularly taken by their teacher, the "dangerous Miss Brodie" primarily because of her enthusiasm and lack of disregard of the school curriculum; "All of the Brodie set..counted on its fingers,as had Miss Brodie,with accurate results more or less." The eccentric Miss Brodie, full of enthusiasm towards "arts and culture" and educating the girls about this, is such a hilarious character, and great fun at times... Read review

...My rentals list has been a bit low lately as there aren't really that many films out that appeal to me so I just left it to the choice of the Gods (aka Blockbusters!) and let them choose me a random title based on other films I've hired out. They sent me Prime, a romantic comedy which actually looked quite good, so myself and my other half finally got round to watching it last night, and we were both left pleasantly surprised! Rafi is a 37 year old woman who's just gotten divorced, and is feeling lonely. Her psychotherapist Lisa recommends to her to find another man to keep her happy for now. So when Rafi, by chance, meets Dave and falls for him she's a bit surprised. Dave is only 23, something Rafi is really unsure about. But the biggest problem is yet to rear its head....!
