Fender Princeton

Advantages: Great looks, decent volume
Disadvantages: Volume control, clean tone controls

...I bought a Princeton 112+ for £200 about 2 years ago, so the main point on the plus side for this amp is the value. Although its pretty small, this amp is a very loud 65W, and is perfectly loud enough for even large pub/club gigs. The amp is a 1x12" combo, with two channels and a master reverb control. The first channel (clean) only has controls for volume/treble/bass; while the distortion channel has gain/volume/treble/bass/contour. The contour control - similar to that on most Marshall Valvestates - works by shifting the range of the middle frequencies, so it does a bit more than a simple middle pot. Basically, turn it one way and the distortion sounds kinda bluesy, turn it the other way and you've got scooped thrash metal. I think the distortion is a bit crap, but you can get it to sound good with a lot of EQ tweaking - so it won...

Yankee Doodle Went to Princeton just to stay at the Nassau

...For many years I worked for a company that had a US office in New Jersey which I used to visit several time each year. This was a dreary place on a soul-less industrial estate in Dayton that had little to attract visitors. However, it wasn't too far from the university town of Princeton and since many of my colleagues lived in that area, it wasn't hard to persuade the secretary who booked our hotels to book in Princeton. It was less horrible than the rest of the area and we could save a fortune on taxi fares by getting lifts with our friends. The favourite among these hotels was the Nassau Inn. I've stayed there about 10 or 12 times and would say that the best thing about the hotel is the location. Value For Money Amp

Advantages: Good clean tone
Disadvantages: Overdrive is brittle, sound controls too sensitive

...Being on a tight budget and not being able to afford a meaty head/cab setup I chose to purchase a Fender Princeton 112 plus combo. I bought mine for £240 about 3 years ago but the price has dropped since then. At 65W it is fairly loud, enough to play small venues quite happliy but larger venues will require re-enforcement. The clean channel has volume, treble and bass. The addition of a middle control could have been of use but it doesn't really matter. The tone is bright and crisp and has a very pleasing sound. The drive channel has volume, gain, bass, and treble. The distortion is quite brittle and ,unless you spend a lot of time fine tuning the amp, it doesn't really compare to that of a Marshall Valvestate or similar amp. It is lacking in bottom end and the tone is harsh. The reverb is nice but again is nothing out of the ordinary...

...Being a huge One Tree Hill fan and a fan of Chad Michael Murray this was a film that I had to watch and it being one of the classic story lines that I read as a child it was an alright film, I could not say that it is the best film that I have ever seen, but it is definitely not the worst one either. Meet high school student Sam played by Hilary Duff, who plays the Cinderella of this story. After her father died, her evil step mother makes Sam scrubs floors at a diner her father used to own. Sam dreams of going to Princeton, but that is all it seems a dream and her evil stepmother and stepsisters seen to throw a spanner in the works so that she will never go to find her prince charming. ...This film stars: Matt Damon Gwyneth Paltrow Jude Law Cate Blanchett I failed to see what was so great about The Talented Mr. Ripley. The acting was acceptable with the only stand-out performance turned in by Jude Law and the whole plot line quite unbelievable. Everything just seemed to fit together a little bit too well - the inept Italian police, Dickie's background, and the general instinct of men to stick together. If it hadn't happened already, the movie completely falls apart while nearing the end.
