Fender Princeton

Advantages: Great looks, decent volume
Disadvantages: Volume control, clean tone controls

...I bought a Princeton 112+ for £200 about 2 years ago, so the main point on the plus side for this amp is the value. Although its pretty small, this amp is a very loud 65W, and is perfectly loud enough for even large pub/club gigs. The amp is a 1x12" combo, with two channels and a master reverb control. The first channel (clean) only has controls for volume/treble/bass; while the distortion channel has gain/volume/treble/bass/contour. The contour control - similar to that on most Marshall Valvestates - works by shifting the range of the middle frequencies, so it does a bit more than a simple middle pot. Basically, turn it one way and the distortion sounds kinda bluesy, turn it the other way and you've got scooped thrash metal. I think the distortion is a bit crap, but you can get it to sound good with a lot of EQ tweaking - so it won...

...For many years I worked for a company that had a US office in New Jersey which I used to visit several time each year. This was a dreary place on a soul-less industrial estate in Dayton that had little to attract visitors. However, it wasn't too far from the university town of Princeton and since many of my colleagues lived in that area, it wasn't hard to persuade the secretary who booked our hotels to book in Princeton. It was less horrible than the rest of the area and we could save a fortune on taxi fares by getting lifts with our friends. The favourite among these hotels was the Nassau Inn. Advantages: storage space, head and leg room, style, pleasant and tasteful dashboard, good road holding
Disadvantages: long but still narrow, styling of the seats is unadventurous

The ultimate solution for TV on PC!

Advantages: the price, the quality, the usefulness of this card
Disadvantages: small codec problems can only be solved by a reinstallation

...the possibility to record in the DivX format, from tv channels to the tapes of your wedding from your videocamera. It is as great and useful as it sounds. For recording you will need a decent PC (not necessarily a brand new one but not a wreck either... I added System Requirements in the end). Installation is quite easy, just stick to the instructions. The only faults that I can detect is this: when it starts having little problems (whater it could be, sounds or codec compression), you will never get rid of them unless you reinstall everything all over again although I recently updated its software and drivers and I haven't had a single problem since. TerraTec offers a great support too with updates and FAQs available on their website. The "TerraTec Cinergy 400 TV stereo" is an excellent product that I never regretted purchasing...

The HDD is the ?storage disk?, usually found inside the computer and it is the place where you store all your software, documents and any other files you may have such as mp3s, pictures, etc. The HDD looks like a small silver box, with black plastic areas around the edges. It has a disk inside that spins around while data is read from it and written to it by a needle. You don?t see the ?disk?, as it is enclosed inside the drive but you can usually hear it. Value For Money Amp

Advantages: Good clean tone

...Being on a tight budget and not being able to afford a meaty head/cab setup I chose to purchase a Fender Princeton 112 plus combo. I bought mine for £240 about 3 years ago but the price has dropped since then. At 65W it is fairly loud, enough to play small venues quite happliy but larger venues will require re-enforcement. The clean channel has volume, treble and bass. The addition of a middle control could have been of use but it doesn't really matter. The tone is bright and crisp and has a very pleasing sound. The drive channel has volume, gain, bass, and treble. The distortion is quite brittle and ,unless you spend a lot of time fine tuning the amp, it doesn't really compare to that of a Marshall Valvestate or similar amp. It is lacking in bottom end and the tone is harsh. The reverb is nice but again is nothing out of the ordinary...
