Is it the right choice for you
Review of Handspring Visor Prism by ling

Advantages: Fast processor, Vibrant colour TFT screen displaying over 65,000 colours
Disadvantages: Costly, Paint known to occassionally peel off casing

...in a range (usually transparent) colours. It is also quite a bit heavier than other models. The Palm Vx has a nice sleek design that is highly appealing. Is is more upgradable than other series Palms, such as the IIIc, allowing expansion modules to clip on the back of it (the range of modules is smaller than that of Handspring). Due to lower specifications than Handsprings of similar price, it is not as much value for money, but then, for most people, neither is the Prism, when compared to the Platinum. The Vx and the Prism are currently both the top of the range models from their makers. If you're after small and light, the Vx is better, but if your after processing power and colour, go with the Prism. The Vx has been known to have difficulty sending or receiving data via infra red. The Palm IIIc is currently quite cheap, seen for as low as 230... Read review

BEHOLD THE COLOUR OF PRISM
Review of Handspring Visor Prism by ani_muza

Advantages: Faster processor, 16-bit colour, Springboard expansion slot, nice casing colour
Disadvantages: Screen flickers occasionally, fatter and heavier than the Visor Deluxe

...WOO-HOO! I've finally got my hands on the new Handspring Visor Prism! Luckily, Handspring has learned from its past mistakes and ordering a Visor is now quick and painless. ----------- Blue devil ----------- The first thing that hit me when I opened the Prism box was that the machine looks COOL. The Prism comes in only one colour -- Handspring calls it ``cobalt blue''. What the pictures on the Handspring website don't show clearly is that the Prism is actually a very nice dark metallic blue. The Prism also comes with a new cradle to accommodate the increased thickness. Like the Palm IIIc, the Prism's lithium ion battery is charged up when you put it on the cradle. What is interesting is that the cradle can also charge the new VisorPhone (a module that turns the Prism into a handphone) at the same time, if you have that Springboard... Read review

Ideal introduction to the DSLR world
Review of Nikon D70s by boliston

Advantages: Ergonomics, choice of lenses, build quailty
Disadvantages: Viewfinder not as good as D80/D200

...This is my first DSLR purchased in April 2006 from my local Jessops. I think I paid about £750 at the time including a 1GB CF card, and it came bundled with an 18-70mm kit lens. It took a while to get the hang of the controls at first, as I was used to "auto everything" compact point & shoot cameras. The camera comes with "scene modes" to help beginners get the hang of using it while they experiment with getting more control by using "aperture priority", "shutter priority" and even fully manual exposure modes. I have taken almost 20,000 pictures so far (the shutter count is logged in the "exif" data), and still have a lot to learn, but it's easy to learn the basics. The ergonomics of the camera are superb, and I even prefer the feel to the more advanced D80 which I've used a few times. The only drawback is that the viewfinder uses... Read review

Nokia 7500 Prism
Review of Nokia 7500 Prism by lufitmo11

Advantages: it has bluetooth,gorgeous display
Disadvantages: clunky navigation controls

...I'm a kind of person who likes a cellphone. and one that cellphone was the Nokia 7500. it has a triangular shapes in its case back and front.. The Nokia 7500 prism has a weight of 83 g. not so heavy to carry. and the dimension is 109x44x14mm and its form is like a candy bar. about the screen, it's phone screen is 2 inches and the color was TFT, 16M colors and resolution of the picture that you can have is 240x320 pixel the image that you can get is clear and presentable and about the camera it has 2.0 megapixel and the network that can support is the GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900. the capacity of the memory was 30MB; micro SD transflash you can save you picture, video, and music. speaking of music the audio can support nokia 7500 prism are the MP3/AAC/eAAC+/WMA it can support that file format. it had also a connectivity like bluetooth... A definate competitor.
Review of Handspring Visor Prism by ab12dh

Advantages: Better screen display, smart cradle
Disadvantages: Expensive, heavy ,thick.

...The Visor Prism is Handspring's attempt to emulate the success its principal competitor, Palm Computing, has achieved with Palm IIIc. The latest version of the Palm operating system, version 3.5, adds colour support for the first time. But as Handspring is only a licensee of the software, it has taken the company six months to come up with a colour product of their own. The Prism has a number of benefits over the Palm IIIc. The screen can display 65,000 colours, as apposed to the Palm's 256. It includes additional software, such as Datebook, City Time and an enhanced calculator. It has a built-in microphone and contains a Springboard expansion slot, which can accommodate a range from digital camara adapters and MP3 players, to games and coming soon, a mobile phone adapter. It's cradle connects to a PC via USB - Palm users have to buy... Read review

Form over functionality
Review of Nokia 7500 Prism by readie25

Advantages: Looks quirky, quite slim
Disadvantages: Difficult to use, features are minimal

...The Prism is something of an oddity - it seems explicity designed to be a novelty item and to stand out from the crowd, rather than to offer any sort of functionality. Frankly, when testing a new phone i want to feel excited by the wealth of features offered, all i could find in this model was the ability to change the colour of backlight for the keys, which distracted me for only a moment. The keypad was difficult to use; it felt cheap and tacky and was tremendously difficult to type on, the joystick was difficult to select specific items with, and the screen was too small for modern expectations. Frankly, one of the most exciting moments in my road-test was shutting the phone down, although i am not sure if this was to do with the novel shutdown animation, or the prospect of something more interesting to come.... Olympus 8X25 WP I
Review of Olympus 8X25 WP I by yassarikhan786

Advantages: Image adjustments to give great view, waterproof, adjustable eye-relief
Disadvantages: fixed magnification, average build and design quality

.... If in the binoculars specifications it said 2-8x zoom, only then would it be possible to change magnification from between a 2x zoom to an 8x zoom. The fixed magnification on this particular binocular can be seen as a disadvantage, this is because if you are fairly close to an object, and the 8x zoom is restricting full viewing of the object than you would not be able to reduce the magnification. The only possible solution would be to move further back or buy some binoculars which allow magnification modifications. Although, 8x zoom on a binocular is hardly professional, professionals tend to use binoculars with higher magnification prowess such as 15x zoom - 25x zoom. The quality of the viewing area on a binocular depends on lens and prism optical quality, mechanical and alignment quality and design quality. As far as I know these particular binoculars... Best Palm OS Handheld so far...
Review of Handspring Visor Prism by SlimmyJimmy

Advantages: Great color. Great battery life. Expandable. New datebook and calculator
Disadvantages: Backlit screen won't show up in sunlight. Like any backlit device, fairly large size

...I used to have a Palm V. It was very small and I grew to love the Palm OS. I decided to go all out and buy the best new Palm OS handheld available and that is the Handspring Prism. First the cons: large and somewhat heavy. You can't really put this in a pocket. I don't recommend putting any Palm or Handspring in a pocket though. Its too easy to sit on it and break it or at the very least its uncomfortable. (I wear handhelds on my belt so this isn't a big deal for me). Can't see the screen in sunlight. Its the opposite of the old Palms, you want less light not more. This works very well for indoors or dim or dark rooms. If you find yourself outdoors, you want to put the brightness to max and find a shadow. Indoors your eyes will thank you for that very bright color screen! Pros: 16 bit color! Thousands of more colors can... Read review

Wonderful screen, pity about the rest
Review of Handspring Visor Prism by ponty

Advantages: Screen, Fast USB Sync, Springboard slot
Disadvantages: Speed, non-upgradeable OS

...The Visor Prism is Handspring's first colour palm device. It's 16-bit (65536 colour) display is the most vibrant I have ever seen on a PalmOS based device. It's far superior to the 256 colour display of the PalmIIIc, and much brighter than the new Palm m505. However, it's the machine's only real saving grace. The unit is very chunky (fatter even than my TRGpro), and comes in a purple case that I'm sure won't be to everyone's taste. It runs the same CPU as the Visor Platinum, but also suffers horribly from the inherent sluggishness of PalmOS 3.5. You're stuck with OS 3.5, too, because the Prism, like all Handspring Visors, lacks a flashable ROM. On the positive side, it does have the Springboard slot (see my Visor Deluxe review for more on that), it synchronises with your PC via USB (rather than serial, like all but the most recent... As good as the film
Review of Mission: Impossible (PSX) by stan50

Advantages: great graphics, lots of variety in gameplay
Disadvantages: difficult Controls

...in the dark. Wire Cutters - For cutting Wires. Nausea powder - For making people feel ill. Smoke generator - A device that can fill whole rooms with thick smoke. spy camera - An easily concealable camera for getting hard to find data. Infra Red Goggles - used for seeing things invisible to the naked eye. Fingerprint scanner - used for getting fingerprints from people for use at a later date. Laser deflector Prism - For deflecting alarm lasers. There are a load of other items that you can use throughout the game but you get the idea, you are always well equipped for a mission. The General Game play is pretty good, the graphics are excellent, i honestly didn’t expect them to be as good as they are for this game. The controls are evry hard to get used to, You probably won’t completely have the hang of them until the end... Read review
