Privilege Insurance - Apalling and inefficient customer service

Advantages: Price
Disadvantages: Poor service generally; pedantic; lack of response to complaints; ridiculous hold times

...I had always driven Company Cars until last November when I was made redundant and purchased my own car and insurance for the first time. Privilege were the cheapest quote I found. I set up the policy on line and was advised that I could have a no claims discount if I provided proof from my previous employer's insurer that I had made no claims. I requested this via my employer but it was not forthcoming and I contacted Privilege in Jan 09 to advise them that I had not deliberately 'overlooked' this but was having difficulty due to the redundancy circumstances. They then cancelled my policy in February. At this point I was fairly sanguine as I had not provided the proof. I reinstated the policy with zero no claims on the understanding that when I managed to obtain proof of no claims I would receive a backdated refund of the difference...

What a privilege!

Advantages: Characterisation, description, exciting read
Disadvantages: made me cry :( not for the weak-hearted or squeamish

...Having read and enjoyed all of the Grant County series previously, I had very high expectations of this book. Skin Privilege has a similar structure to the other books in the series, and focuses on one particular case, which turns out to be more complicated than it first seems. It takes place mostly outside of Grant County, with the three main characters (Jeffrey, Sara and Lena) all being based in Lena's hometown of Reece. Karin Slaughter continues to develop the characters fantastically, and her writing gives a real sense of closeness to the people, and their relationship to one another. Personally, I have never liked Lena, but this book really shows a different side to her which made her chapters a lot more exciting and interesting to read, whereas previously I would only skim through her chapters. RX$ scenic - why?

Advantages: looks nice
Disadvantages: see below - mpg etc

...A Renault Scenic, same engine, propshaft and permanent four wheel drive added. Raise the ride height and its gonna be a winner, right? Oh but no... A shiny two tone green 1.9 fiji rx4 beckoned to me from the forecourt. Leather interior, loads of gadgets, not quite as anti-greenpeace as a jeep - how could i refuse. Bought the beast and drove it home marvelling at the way it wallowed into corners and lacked any acceleration - small things to pay when you have such a unique looking car. Passed a petrol station on the way home and i can honestly say thats the last one ive drove past without popping in - here we have a 1.9 diesel that even on the handbook only manages 35mpg and thats a new perfect one - mine does late twenties and thats driven easily - no mean feat considering how slow it is. Review of Renault Scénic RX4

It's a Privilege to have good insurance.

Advantages: Low cost, swift claims handling
Disadvantages: Minor niggles with paperwork not being filled in correctly

...I used to have a car insurance policy with Direct Line (same company as Privilege) but when I had a high quote two years ago, I shopped around. Privilege gave me protected no claims, guaranteed hire car and legal protection for about £70 less than my original quote. I must admit, there were a few niggles - when I moved house they changed my address but not my postcode, when I changed my car they changed the make and model but not the colour. Nothing a quick phone call couldn't sort out. The real test came in Feb. this year, when another woman decided to drive straight into the back of me. This resulted in damage to my car, and myself and my daughter in agony with whiplash injuries. Luckily we were both on half term holiday, and had time to sort the claim out and rest for a week. One call to privilege and I had calls from the garage...

Grand Scenic ? Pretty good Scenic!

Advantages: Very practical, reasonable looks and comfortable
Disadvantages: Those rear seats are only for tiny legged people

...Overview We bought the Renault Grand Scenic recently 2nd hand, as a weekend car to take all the family out together. Apart from the initial horror of having grandparents, children and my husband all in the car together? the actual practicality of the matter has worked very well. With 5 seats as standard, and the extended boot space, this is a very practical car for my usual weekly activities ? shopping, trips to the recycling centre, school runs etc., and the ISOFIX car seat fittings make it easy to take the kids car seats in and out. The boot is enormous with plenty of space for luggage, pushchairs, golf clubs and shopping. The 2 additional seats are in the boot, and are hidden under the floor space. They are easy to pull up? just remove the floor cover and pull the red cord! The whole process takes around 10 seconds...

...I currently own a 1999 T reg Renault Scenic 1.6 Alize which I think is fantstic. Taking the scenic route?

Advantages: Very spacious and comfortable
Disadvantages: mummy-mobile!

...The decision? I made the final decision to go for this car after developing back problems in pregnancy and then having trouble lifting the children in and out of our Mondeo (which I loved!). Thus making a higher up car seem like a good idea. At first I wasn't convinced when my husband suggest the Scenic. His other suggestions were Zafira and C8. So when I saw them I instantly chose the Scenic! I am not really into 7 seaters and school runs yet as my babies are still under 3! E600 Scenic

Advantages: Very fast and reliable
Disadvantages: 40GB of memory

...Scenic e600 is OK for gaming but would be excellent for business. Its fast and reliable what more do you need. I did a nice upgrade to make it handle vista... i strongly recommend not putting vista on it due to it will not recognise the graphics driver and you need to use system graphics which is horrible. Now it just serves as a work computer. The amazing 2.6Ghz which is has is the best feature of this desktop computer. Been serving me well for over 3 years i think and has never broken down... Its very reliable. The 512Mb ram it comes with... get rid of it. Put about 4GB of ram in there and you got the perfect computer. Tried putting a Geforce 8800 card into.... did not fit so dont try and stick something big into it because it wont fit. Can be very silent which is a lovely aspect of it, doesnt buzzzzzzz to much. It was a "Privilege" to read this book

Advantages: It was really interesting
Disadvantages: so interesting i didn't want go to sleep

...Well let me tell you how I first 'stumbled' on this book. I'd heard, like many of you would have, that ?A child called 'it' was an amazing book and I though ok, let me go and get it to. So I went to the library and I couldn't find it. The lady said it had already been taken out, but she said, ?A privilege of youth? was here and I could take it and that's how I ended up reading this book before the others. I would like to say this book is absolutely amazing and that is not an exaggeration. I enjoyed every minute of that book and I?m picking with books. I couldn't put it down, I just wanted to keep reading and I would stay up saying 'just one more page' or 'ok let me finish this chapter.'
