Pro camera at silly price

Advantages: cheap, well built, cheap accessories, loads of bits on ebay excellent quality
Disadvantages: not little, not light, small screen, hard to get Smart Media cards anymore

...I own 2 Fuji cameras the S9600 and the S8000fd, these were purchased last summer to take photographs at some local music festivals for a local newspaper (times and star). After being hooked back into taking photos with an (almost) proper camera I started considering buying a full on DSLR, the problem is that the S9600 is such a good camera that bettering it would be hard (and very expensive) so I gave up. Enter E-Bay and after a couple of silly bids I won a second hand Fuji Finepix S2 pro for under £140 and a bit more shopping landed a 70 - 200mm lens for under £60, so I bought a slightly old very good DSLR for under £200! OK so the Fuji may be a little big and heavy compared to some of the new DSLR's it can still manage a 12Mp interpolated image thanks to Fuji's Super CCD. Pro 815 - a great Camera

Advantages: great zoom, large screen, plenty of options, long battery life
Disadvantages: no image stabilisation

...I have owned one of these camera for a while now and its excellent with a large screen and fantastic battery usage (over 400 photos on one charge), which was the best on the market when it was released, the only disadvantage i can see is the lack of image stabilisation but its a minor flaw in an otherwise excellent camera. It can be a little weighty but takes excellent photos and has a large clear screen which has also been used by my relatives with not so great eye sight without any problems The camera has a fantastic zoom for the price which would only be improved by the image stabilisation. The various features on the camera including the Children mode and High speed settings are great for moving objects like my daughter who never sits still and ice hockety players who move at quite a speed, there are some great Macro options too...

Semi pro camera

Advantages: Lightweight and easy to use
Disadvantages: Manual focus can be tricky

One of the nice features of the camera is that you can let the camera take care of all the settings or you can completely over ride everything. So on auto it becomes a point and shoot camera allowing even amateurs to take great pictures. Or over ride everything and shoot like a pro. I have been very pleased with the results i have had using all types of film such as Black and White, Colour and Slide film. When used with slide film the camera has an auto bracketing function so you can expose up to 2 steps below or above the standard setting. It is marketed as a semi professional camera and I have seen many examples of work published by wildlife photographers using this camera. It is a nice alternative to using the ubiquitous Canon...

A really great "pro-sumer" camera

Review - The HTC Touch Pro 2

Advantages: well designed, good touchscreen, good QWERTY keypad, improved sofware, good widescreen display

The improvements with the screen come largely from updated software, most notably the TouchFLO 3D software which, among other thing, runs the touchscreen. HTC have made some major improvements since the original, there are a few things that aren't quite perfect with the Pro2, and perfection is crucial to take on the giants of Apple, Nokia and RIM's BlackBerry range. As a result, when reading a magazine, which my girlfriend had bought, I noticed an advert for a new toothpaste from Sensodyne designed to combat acid erosion. That toothpaste was called Sensodyne Pro Namel. Firstly, a touch of sciency healthy stuff: - Acid erosion is now a problem affecting more and more people here in Britain. With more fizzy drinks being consumed, the problem is only going to get worse, and even stuff like acidic fruit (oranges, lemons etc) can cause a problem, as can anything with citric acid as a preservative in. Babyliss Pro 230 Straightener - fantastic pair of straighteners!

Advantages: Easy to use, heat up quickly, heat mat, three heat settings
Disadvantages: Can't think of any really!

...I had had my old Remington straighteners for a couple of years, so the other day I decided it was time for new ones. I bought these Babyliss Pro 230 Straighteners for £36.39 (half price in Argos). The straighteners come with a little bag with a divider in the middle to keep the cord and plug away from the hot straighteners when you pack them away. It also comes with a heat mat which is ideal for resting your straighteners on in case you damage something. The four hair dividing clips are handy too! The straighteners are so easy to use. There are three heat settings, I use the hottest as my hair is quite thick. The straighteners heat up really quickly, approx 30 seconds. My hair is quite short in areas and I find it easy to use on shorter hair as well as the longer bits. I wish I had invested in a new pair of straighteners...
