Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Xbox 360) by
retrakill
Advantages: Feels Real, Match atmosphere captured brilliantly, brilliant in multiplayer
Disadvantages: bad menus, bad music, not the greatest graphics in the world
...Every year the big sports games companies unleash their new football games on the fervent consumers. This year, Konami released Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to critical indifference. The game has been seen, up util now, as the greatest adaptation of modern football for games consoles. This year though, EA's FIFA 2008 stole the crown with its superb visuals and in depth career mode. In my humble opinion, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is the far better game. I purchased both games on release date but have since sold FIFA. The reason for this is the fact that FIFA provides an admitedly impressive experience, but one that gets stale very quickly. Match ups between lesser teams play exactly the same as a game between the best rated teams in the game. Pro Evo 08 though, is filled with unpredicatble and fun moments.
The control system...

Pro 08 Review
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Xbox 360) by
Dimitriaz
Advantages: Enhanced graphics, game-play, AI (artificial intelligence)
Disadvantages: Lack of Licienced Teams, new feautures
...Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is KONAMI's latest soccer game.
The game-play is very similar to that of the previous version; the only noticable difference is in the player's ability to more skilfully turn with the ball. The speed seems slower, but this is an advantage in my opinion, because the previous games were far too fast. New fancy skills have been added but these can take quite some time to learn. If you are thinking of buying books to swat up on new skills, I would advise trying online guides first, as the books never tell you everything.
As for new features - the new additions in the theatre area allow you to change the music on the menu. The Graphics in Pro 2008 are simply the best of the entire series. For example, the player's facial expressions match their actions much better than ever before and their hair moves more...

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for xbox 360 review
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Xbox 360) by
petemiguel
Advantages: Gameplay crushes any other football game!
Disadvantages: licenses still not included!
...I have had all of the pro evolution games since back when it was International superstar soccer many years ago!
I think these games get better everytime but still always lack something vital in certain departments. This version is no different.
The graphics are brilliant, with moving crowd that hold their heads in their hands when you concede a goal and literally cheer with each other when you score.
As for the gameplay...well...it never stops getting better on each version. This is what sets pro evo apart from any other football game and for me it bridges a gap that is massive!!!
Fifa has everything set out well with real licenses (unlike pro evo), but pro evo masters the way you can pass, shoot, dribble and cross. Theres something so real and natural about how the football is actually played that can not be touched by other games...

KONAMI HITS AGAIN.
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PS2) by
apatra
Advantages: very realistic game play, good graphics and numerous leagues.
Disadvantages: lack of license.
...and that is FIFA soccer that are now out to outplay pro evolution soccer but I don't know on when that may be. I now enjoy the FIFA soccer more now than before when they were lacking game play. So now both of them are now in my soccer agenda so both are pleasurable to me but I still take pro evolution as my favourite soccer game.
One major problem with Konami soccer games is that they always have the problem of getting real player names. Like in this recent pro evolution 2008, some players don't even have their names written properly. So what is really the problem with pro evolution soccer developers?
But the problem of real players name does not bother me other than game plays.
GRAPHICS.
Well I wont put up much praises on the graphics because it has almost the same similarities with the previous installation, which is the pro evolution...

Pro Evo 2008 Review
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PS2) by
benaldo3333
Advantages: Excellent graphics, better commentary then Pro Evo 6
Disadvantages: Still licence issues
...I am a lifelong Pro Evo fan - owning every single release dating back to the original, and knew that I had to buy this new release. After purchasing Pro Evo 2008 last year, I instantly knew that Konami had bettered themselves, even after the success of Pro Evo 6.
Once you load the game and get to the starting screen, you will be pleased to see that the menu's are better laid out and the different options are more accessible. The game is better updated and has more correct players and teams than last year, but there are still licencing issues which mean that some teams are still incorrect (Wales, Czech Republic, etc). This is something you have to come to terms with if you are to buy any game in the Pro Evo series. As for the game modes, there is no real difference between this release and the previous one. I felt...

Pro Evolution 2008 vs Fifa 2008
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PS3) by
tdholland
Advantages: Excellent realism and gameplay.
Disadvantages: Team names and players still missing.
...Where to start with Pro Evolution Soccer 8? I'm sure most of you have heard or asked the question...Pro Evo or Fifa? Don't lie you know that's why you're here!
I've generally always bought both Fifa and Pro Evo games, mainly because I couldn't just pick one as they are both excellent in their own ways. I will now attempt to find differences in the games and eventually pick the better one....here goes....
Controls
Pro Evolution brings more realism than ever in the new installment. Ball control is brilliant but can be a bit confusing at first if you are new at the game. The controls can take a bit of getting used to. But once you've mastered that gameplay is superb. The right choice of button and you can get the ball exactly where you want it. New skill controls have been added which I feel has always been what the game lacked compared...

The Anti-Climax of PES 2008
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PS2) by
Alexkl86
Advantages: Still the best soccer game in terms of gameplay
Disadvantages: No noticable improvements from the last release
...The Pro Evolution Soccer series has been around for a while now, and even though they are all very similar in terms of playerbility, you still get that feeling of excitment when a new PES hits the shelves. After playing PES 7 extensively (both master league and against friends) I was expecting another step up in quality. I was left disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the gameplay is still brilliant and light years ahead of the arcade-like Fifa, but literally nothing new has been added to the game and some aspects have even gone backwards which left me wondering what the hell went on at Konami during the making of PES2008.
First off is that hardly any of the players actually look like their real life versions. Apart from a hand full of the big names (Beckham, Owen, Ronaldo, Gattuso, Ferdinand) every other player looks the same. I actually...
