Pro Evolution Soccer 2008

Advantages: Strong graphics, good gameplay, wide spectrum of AI
Disadvantages: Poor online capabilities, still lacking a fully licencsed lineup

...The PES series of football games are often said to be the best of the bunch, with game play better than FIFA games, even if the graphics aren't quite up to scratch and at the cost of all the teams not being licensed. Well PES 2008 is a good game, no doubt about that, and being the first next gen PES, it had high expectations to live up to. Well the graphics in the game are certainly good enough for next gen, with players moving with greater fluidity and more naturally than the previous outing, PES 6, and theres a fair few teams too, however compare it with the latest FIFA outing, and it seems distinctly average. The Premiership remains unlicensed, apart from player names, and not even all the international teams have the correct player names, however we have come to expect that from PES games so lets put that aside and focus...

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008

Advantages: little improvement to previos version, new features, close looks, players intellegence movement etc ....
Disadvantages: online offline lagging, some unnecessary stuff, techniques, problem selling etc...

.... I waited for "Pro Evolution Soccer 2008" for 3 days after its release. My university assignments were making trouble in the way. I know 3 days are not too long enough but for this game, it made me mad. Because, PES 2008 version was the first release on PS3 console. I was thinking of the changes they might have made. But finally after my assignments were done, I straight away went to high street to buy some games, of which PES 2008 was on top priority. I couldn't wait to play this game. The first time I turned on the game it made me feel bad about this game. I didn't liked the start menu, it was too colorful having big fonts. ...Every year the big sports games companies unleash their new football games on the fervent consumers. This year, Konami released Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to critical indifference. The game has been seen, up util now, as the greatest adaptation of modern football for games consoles. This year though, EA's FIFA 2008 stole the crown with its superb visuals and in depth career mode. In my humble opinion, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is the far better game. ...I ave owned every game in the PES series (Pro Evolution Soccer), and found them very enjoyable. PES 2008 is a game for people who enjoy football, playing multiplayer etc.. Ive found that owning PES on the Xbox is far different than when i had it on playstation. Its general feel is different, not worse though. There are many positive features to this game such as the multiplayer is fantastic, the master league and league modes are fun. However i found that pes 2008 was a big let down playing on Xbox Live, there seems to be alot of lagging unlike the other games i play on xbox live such as call of duty, command and conquer etc.. Overall i feel this is well worth a purchase if you like football games and want a good multiplayer game, however if your buying it because its on xbox live i would advise against a purchase....

Pro Evolution 2008 vs Fifa 2008

Advantages: Excellent realism and gameplay.
Disadvantages: Team names and players still missing.

...Where to start with Pro Evolution Soccer 8? I'm sure most of you have heard or asked the question...Pro Evo or Fifa? Don't lie you know that's why you're here! I've generally always bought both Fifa and Pro Evo games, mainly because I couldn't just pick one as they are both excellent in their own ways. I will now attempt to find differences in the games and eventually pick the better one....here goes.... Controls Pro Evolution brings more realism than ever in the new installment. Ball control is brilliant but can be a bit confusing at first if you are new at the game. The controls can take a bit of getting used to. But once you've mastered that gameplay is superb. The right choice of button and you can get the ball exactly where you want it. New skill controls have been added which I feel has always been what the game lacked...

...took some time getting used to the controls as this new territory for the wii, having to point your remote were you want the players to run onto was very confusing at first, could of easily have given up but went to the practice mode and went through tutorials, defiently recommend doing this as it can be ery overwhelming at first, but once got through and mastered the basics along with a few tricks and skills i love it. graphics arent the best but still pretty good, once you have mastered the controls the gameplay is amazing and totally diifferent from what i have played on a football game before seem to be in control of more players at any time, been playing on the champions road at the moment and can hardly put it down. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for xbox 360 review

Advantages: Gameplay crushes any other football game!
Disadvantages: licenses still not included!

...I have had all of the pro evolution games since back when it was International superstar soccer many years ago! I think these games get better everytime but still always lack something vital in certain departments. This version is no different. The graphics are brilliant, with moving crowd that hold their heads in their hands when you concede a goal and literally cheer with each other when you score. As for the gameplay...well...it never stops getting better on each version. This is what sets pro evo apart from any other football game and for me it bridges a gap that is massive!!! Fifa has everything set out well with real licenses (unlike pro evo), but pro evo masters the way you can pass, shoot, dribble and cross. Theres something so real and natural about how the football is actually played that can not be touched by other games...
