A Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 Experience

Advantages: Re-playability, Various gameplay modes, More realistic, Improved graphics
Disadvantages: Can become slightly addictive

...I will admit to not having owned the entire series of Pro Evolution Soccer games. However, I have played all of them since 2005 and I sincerely believe that they have improved in those four years. As the title of the game suggests, it is a soccer game. The user can play in a variety of gameplay modes. The various modes create a sense of challenge and allow the user to do almost anything they want, within the confines of the game. Since the beginning of the Pro Evolution Soccer series, there has definately been an improvement in the graphics. Notably, the game has also become more realistic, making the signings of new players harder to accomplish and making the gameplay a far closer representation of the modern day football match. Advantages: great graphic and game play.
Disadvantages: lack of license, but great flexibility to modify using Kit Server

... Overall The first thing I want to say is that this is the best soccer games that I've ever played. When I got the game last year, I doubt it might repeat the dissapointment of the previous version, but I was convinced that it's the best game when installed and started playing. Graphic Pro evolution soccer always gives great graphic quality with realistic models. The players look really alike from their real life. Compared to the last version, there is a great improvement on graphic performance. Although my computer uses a GeForce 7300 with 2GB RAM, I can play smoothly at medium graphic configuration. When I played the game on my friends computer, which allows highest graphic config, the quality is subperb. Just really enjoy it. ...This years edition offers more in the graphics department . The difference in this version of Pro Evolution Soccer is the addition of the champions league and the new licensed teams. Manchester United and Liverpool are the fully licensed teams this year. The gameplay is still slow but also deliberate. There are more ways to play the game witch includes Become A Legend, you play as one player on the pitch making your way through the ranks of your club and moving between clubs throughout your career. Designing everything from the way you look and the way you wear your kit. The game keeps the same modes as the last version with the likes of Master League, Cups and Leagues.   Sensible Pro Evolution Soccer!

Advantages: It's Pro Evolution Soccer, in handheld format for crying out loud...
Disadvantages: Some long loading times and a lack of a Master League likely to put some fans off...

...So, the second best football game ever made gets a release on the PSP. For shame that few remember the gloriously addictive Sensible Soccer (from the halcyon days of the Amiga) as the title would be perfect for Sony's venture into the arena of handheld and portable gaming. Small, compact and simple, the endeavour would surely make the most out of the platform given the power of the PSP. Instead we have Pro Evolution Soccer, Konami's yearly updated monster for the Playstation 2, which in many ways is akin to playing virtual football. A fantastic game by all accounts, but, given the range and depth of the football on show - including numerous cup competitions, individual player data, the much loved Master League and barnstorming realism in the graphics department - its conversion to the PSP would seem as tricky as a FA Cup third round away...

Pro Evo 2009 still just behind FIFA....just!

Advantages: gameplay, realism, longevity, graphical interface
Disadvantages: sound is not quite Fifa stanard, the only major setback

...OK, here is is, for me, and as a guy who plays both Pro Evo and Fifa, i was looking at this game as can it beat fifa? can it beat it in gameplay, graphics, freedom of play, etc.... the simple truth is that the game can be anything you want it to be. you can work your way up from the bottom, be your own team, your own player, your own manager, play your way, your style, and the game brings this to life in spectacular fashion. i always felt that the first touch in pro evo was never what fifa made it, but 09 seems to have brought this up to speed. it doesn't cannon off as quick, and quickness of turn is much sharper, and the gameplay improves from that. what i did do though, was play it full throttle, big screen, surround sound, the full nine yards. this was key. it was all there, as mentioned, but you want the feeling of being there. you...

...Developer: Konami When writing reviews, it's pretty hard not to compare one product to another of similar leaning. It's even harder when the product that you're critiquing is one of only 2 major players in any given field. In other words, any referance to a certain other football game shall for the sake of focus be known only as The One That Shall Not Be Named (or TOTSNBN for short). But in reality, for years now, Pro Evolution Soccer has been in a 2 horse race with TOTSNBN (I like that already). And they've always seemed to be one step ahead in each annual installment, and the same is true in the 2009 editions. ...The PES series of football games are often said to be the best of the bunch, with game play better than FIFA games, even if the graphics aren't quite up to scratch and at the cost of all the teams not being licensed. Well PES 2008 is a good game, no doubt about that, and being the first next gen PES, it had high expectations to live up to. Well the graphics in the game are certainly good enough for next gen, with players moving with greater fluidity and more naturally than the previous outing, PES 6, and theres a fair few teams too, however compare it with the latest FIFA outing, and it seems distinctly average. ...have reached to a stage of trying to out play pro evolution soccer. The point and the question still lie in the game, what's new in the game? Some criticism has been going along the air about the hard game play. Yes I have to agree with critics over the issue. Yes the game play has been made difficult and some factors contribute to it. In the previous pro evolution versions, the game play is quite easy and user friendly but in this current pro evolution 6, you don't take full ball possession with your controller rather the computer partially decides on how long you hold the ball. The most annoying factor is that while in hold of the ball the slightest opponent tackle, takes you out of ball possession whilst and this mostly occurs between defenders and strikers. I now have to put on some negative criticism on this issue. Konami I think...
