BA II+ PRO, the calculator for the Pro.
Review of Texas Instruments BA II+ PRO by
85jt11
Advantages: Sleek design, reliable, Time Value of Money keys
Disadvantages: Could do with a larger screen
...This calculator is a must for anybody who does finance, accounting, economics, investment, statistics, and other business classes. On some courses you may find that this is the only calculator you can take to the exam!
The calculator has really good feel to it and looks really professional. The calculator itself is kindof brushed metal with a black protective case. I used to use the BA II Plus before and moving onto this calculator was a huge improvement both in feel, quality and looks.
The calculator has essential functions such as Time Value of Money and allows you to calculate cash flows using the "CF" key.
It is a great calculator to own, the only downside is the size of the screen... some have a huge screen which allows for multi-line calculations, but this also has a "store key" allowing you to store numbers allowing you...

very good quality cooler for AMD CPU's
Review of Akasa AK 876 by
piotrekpol
Advantages: Very cool, easy to install
Disadvantages: copper on the cpu side far from mirror ( needs a polish )
...Test system:
processor - AMD Athlon FX62 (2 x 2800 MHz / 125W TDP)
motherboard - ASUS M2N32 DeLuxe Wireles Edition (passive cooling system with HeatPipe)
Cooler is very easy to install just one lever.
More experienced users will probably remove thermal compound and polish the surface of the cooler ( it is far from being a mirror ) and then apply high quality thermal compound.
This will give You another 1-2 C less and faster cooling down after stress.
all tests were done using Zalman STG 1 ( high quality thermal compound )
Temperature readings after 60 minutes in idle:
Akasa AK-876 37
Arctic Cooling 64PRO 38
Scythe Katana II 39
Temperature readings after 60 minutes in 100% load:
Akasa AK-876 56
Arctic Cooling 64PRO 58
Scythe Katana II 61
Temperature readings...

MJ acoustics PRO50mkII
Review of Mj Acoustics PRO50 by
djspellbound
Advantages: great volume, awsome frequency response, sexy looks.
Disadvantages: delicate finish
...I'm impressed with my new purchase! I recently bought the pro50mkII in black satin. Looks amazing, sounds better! it is one of the few subs that will go down to 13Hz. It is fairly easy to set up using the hi input cable and its really easy to set up sonically.
The best thing is that i can connect two amplifiers using two different methods so i can have my stereo amplifier connected via the hi input cable and my 5.1 amp connected through the digital coax.
Thoughtful extras include "Intelligent speaker protection" which means the levels are automatically controlled if distortion is detected in order to protect the speaker driver.
Sounds great loud too, which is great for when I'm 'avin' a spin on the decks....

For the pub cred road warrior
Review of Xircom REX 5000 by
Mcsm
Advantages: Small
Disadvantages: Limited
...he Rex Pro is the most unusual product in this Spotlight. It has no keyboard, nor even a pen stylus, and it's the same size as a Type II PC Card (PCMCIA) device. In fact, it is a Type II PC Card device. With a screen.
Easily the smallest and lightest device in this group test, the Rex Pro has a monochrome LCD screen built in, taking up almost all the width and height of the card. Next to this screen is a selection of six buttons which are used for navigating the various built-in applications. These include a note jotter, address book, calendar, to-do list with alarms, and home and world clocks. There's no scope for e-mail, Web browsing, or installing additional applications, but given the size of this machine, that's not a surprise.
The Rex Pro started life under the Franklin brand - in fact on our review model it was still possible...

Fantastic Cinema sound at an afordable price
Review of Sony HT-BE1 Home Theater System by
kwildchild
Advantages: Is Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro 1 & 2, has optical & coaxial connections
Disadvantages: Has no radio
...are setting up.
For instance you can set up the distance from you to the speakers and these are labelled as F-DST (front distance), C-DST (Center Distance) & R-DST (Rear Distance) so it fairly straight forward.
Is The Manual Easy To Understand?
---------------------------------
The manual is very straight forward giving you all the information you need to set up your system, there are precise diagrams on each page with simple to follow instructions for setting up via the remote or via the menu on the amp.
Does the HT-BE1 have DTS?
-------------------------
Yes, as the amp is Dolby Digital the HT-BE1 does have DTS, the amp also has Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Pro Logic II and Auto Format Decode which will work out if you digital source is Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS.
I can quite honestly say that I found the HT-BE1 easy to install with no hastle straight...

Bissell Proheat Takes the strain and the stain!
Review of Bissell PRO HEAT by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Works very well on your floors
Disadvantages: None noticed
...The Bissell ProHeat is a truly wonderful device. We moved into a new house, recently. It was a show home and we were assured that it had been cleaned to a "high standard" by the cleaner who had worked for the developers for nearly 20 years. Well, doubtless she'd turned up every day, but I would be surprised to find out if she had done any cleaning throughout the entire 20 years. The carpet, in short, was decidedly grubby after been walked on by all and sundry for the two years that it had served as a show home.
What to do? Hire a carpet cleaner at £60 to £70 per day (plus the deposit) or buy a carpet cleaning system? We decided to go for the latter option and looked around for a carpet cleaning system.
After looking round and seeing what was available, we decided to plump for the Bissell ProHeat II. It cost is £168.00 from...

New Kyro II Graphics - Amazing Value
Review of Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 by
murban
Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, excellent performance
Disadvantages: You'll have to pay extra for the TV-OUT
...The Hercules 4500 brings you the power equal to a 64MB DDR Radeon at an amazing price. The Prophet 4500 is based around the new Kyro II chipset from ST and Imagination Technologies.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
The card has a GPU running at 175MHz and 64MB of SDR RAM also running at 175MHz. The Kyro II is different from the usual GeForce cards mainly because it uses something called Tile Based Rendering. Most graphics cards render by layers, they build a base and slowly put on layers of detail. The Kyro II however renders what the scene will look like after it's fully drawn - and skips out rendering layers that we won't see. This adds great efficiency to the card.
THE CARD
The card is built in the standard Hurcules blue and is extremely easy to install since the hecules drivers support most of their cards in one go. The card also comes with a fan...

The Best Club I've ever Used!
Review of Callaway Great Big Bertha II by
foxstuart
Advantages: Very long and very easy to use
Disadvantages: Price
...I have recently upgraded to the new Callaway Great Big Bertha II. I changed from using a Callaway Steelhead I, a club I was very reluctant to move away from.
I made the switch as I seemed to be losing distance compared to my playing partners, most of whom now have titanium drivers.
The spec I chose was a firm graphite shaft with 10 degrees of loft. I opted not to go for the Pro-series version (as my handicap is 12) as this is not as forgiving.
There are two types of GBB II, the standard version and the +Plus version. The latter is the one I have but does not conform to USGA rules. living in the UK, this isn't a problem.
The difference between the two is that the +Plus version has a greater COR (Coefficient of Restitution) i.e. put simply, this means the bounciness that the club head provides, hopefully meaning an extra 5 or so yards...
