Disadvantages: Slow with best 6MP setting, poor low light focus.

Being the "Pro" version, it is slightly different to the standard model - the most relevant feature for me is the addition of a remote shutter release cable. I now have a 3m cable release so I dont need to be near the camera to snap a shot. Quite useful if the garden is full of skittish birds, or if I dont want to cause any vibrations in the telescope when Im taking astro shots. The other Pro function is the PC synch socket, but I have to confess, I've never used this feature. I use the camera for astronomy (see my Star Travel 102mm telescope review for more), and one of the only problems I face on a regular basis, is poor autofocus ability in low light levels. Review of Leica S1 Pro

Fujifilm s602 pro.

Advantages: Packed full of features, super macro mode is the best in its class!
Disadvantages: so many features its quite difficult to use at first, you can now buy the s7000!

...Purchased the pro version for my birthday last year. I had found an excellent deal - i managed to get the pro version for £30 more than the standard one. Basically this is a 3megapixal camera which interpolates to 6 megapixal. In fairness this does not offer the image quality at 6mp of a true 6pm camera. however its very close to it. Boot up times are very quick, loading in around 3 seconds. The pro version adds the following features: Studio flash socket 340mb microdrive (somehow I had a 512mb micro drive - no complants there as they are around £80.00 a piece!). Cable release thread All in all the only reason for the average user to go for the pro version is the bargin of a cheap IBM microdrive (the standard and pro versions also come with a 16mb smart media card - ok but at best resolution you can't fit even one image...

Pro camera at silly price

Advantages: cheap, well built, cheap accessories, loads of bits on ebay excellent quality
Disadvantages: not little, not light, small screen, hard to get Smart Media cards anymore

...I own 2 Fuji cameras the S9600 and the S8000fd, these were purchased last summer to take photographs at some local music festivals for a local newspaper (times and star). After being hooked back into taking photos with an (almost) proper camera I started considering buying a full on DSLR, the problem is that the S9600 is such a good camera that bettering it would be hard (and very expensive) so I gave up. Enter E-Bay and after a couple of silly bids I won a second hand Fuji Finepix S2 pro for under £140 and a bit more shopping landed a 70 - 200mm lens for under £60, so I bought a slightly old very good DSLR for under £200! OK so the Fuji may be a little big and heavy compared to some of the new DSLR's it can still manage a 12Mp interpolated image thanks to Fuji's Super CCD. Many of the Pro photographers that work for the local paper...

Review - The HTC Touch Pro 2

Advantages: well designed, good touchscreen, good QWERTY keypad, improved sofware, good widescreen display
Disadvantages: Expensive, no spec bump, no flash module, heavy

To activate the speaker all you do is turn the phone onto its face, this automatically activates it, this also works if you are already on the phone and want to let other people in the room join in the conversation? I tried this and it worked perfectly. This works so well for a three reasons. Firstly, a woofer and tweeter have been built into the speaker to improve sound clarity. Secondly, HTC have installed two microphones to pick up a clearer sound, and, Thirdly, a chip has been designed to cut out background noise and focus on the speakers voice. All round, the HTC Pro2 is a very satisfying handset to look at? but so was the original, its problems arose when it actually came to living with it, and it is these areas which needed improving. Improvements The Pro2's predecessors, were let down...

...The Fuji FinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered. The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too. The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed. As a result, when reading a magazine, which my girlfriend had bought, I noticed an advert for a new toothpaste from Sensodyne designed to combat acid erosion. That toothpaste was called Sensodyne Pro Namel. Firstly, a touch of sciency healthy stuff: - Acid erosion is now a problem affecting more and more people here in Britain. ...Having been stuck with a busted camcorder on the morning on an important family visit, I dashed to a major electrical store to source a replacement, stumbled across this camera, researched the others on display and chose the S26 for ease of use, merit for the make (I bought Lumix TZ5 and have been really pleased with it, quality, capabilities etc, great lens) and general feel for the camera. in my opinion, X70 zoom works very well, resolution excellent for an "older" user and their "junior" assistants. I think that Transfer speed is not rapid, but "so what" in a camera at this price point. Very happy to recommend for general everyday trouble free use.
