Cheap and Cheerfull
Review of Proline FR1 by
muiguifa
Advantages: Compact, easy to clean, affordable
Disadvantages: Too small, inadequate freezer sapace
...What do you look for when you are buying a fridge? Me? Mainly – how much wine, chocolate and ice cream I can fit in it! You can guess that I have never bought a fridge. This little fridge I am using came in price of my rent.
Proline FR1 is small and compact fridge. It requires a certain amount of organization skill to fit everything in it but to be honest there are three of us using this fridge and we manage, just about. It fits nicely under your kitchen work top and a good thing about the fridge being so small is the fact that you can move it very easily whenever you want to do that proper spring cleaning. It wipes clean effortlessly inside and outside. It has two adjustable shelves and a decent sized salad/veg basket. Unfortunately you can only place the shelves in two positions to get the best result in storage. For storing bigger...

The Family Fridge
Review of Proline PLF284A by
Bitter-Sweet
Advantages: Elegant and spacious
Disadvantages: A little weak
...Food is an issue very close to my heart and very close to the hearts of most people. Because of this my fridge is very important to me, it has to be able to hold enough chilled foods for a family of five for a week, and finding one that can do that is no easy task.
This model was introduced in 2003, and we bought one six to eight months ago and since then have had nearly no problems with it. It is a freestanding fridge that greets all our guests as they enter our utility area.
To me, this fridge looks great. It is freestanding and belive you me, it stands tall at 143cm, that's just over 57 inches if you don't like metric measurements. It is 60cm, or 24 inches wide. It is also 60cm deep. The fridge is icey white, with a smooth curved handle.
Upon opening the fridge you are greeted by an enormous space, 286 litres to be exact. You can...

Excellent
Review of Proline DVD-1000 by
kurtliam
Advantages: Cheap, excellent picture/sound quality, multiregion
Disadvantages: no dts, may be put off by the colour (gold)
...This DVD player from proline is the cheapest on the market, but don't let that put you off, everything on this model is excellent. The picture quality beats most £300 players, with cystal clear images and excellent colour. The sound is also excellent all though it does not offer dts - this however is not that bad as not many movies at the moment support the format. Extra features of the player include - slow motion , 10-bit converter, zoom and its multi-region - all is required is a code to be entered just once to make it play all region 1-6 movies. My advice is to go out and buy it! Espicially as the price is going to fall as its successor is out the proline 2000. Go to comet.co.uk now and check for yourself....

A BUDGET MULTI REGION.
Review of Proline DVD-1000 by
coolferret
Advantages: inexpensive
Disadvantages: basic but worth it
...will switch over automaticly when you play a region 1 or region 2.This code will work on the proline dvd1000 and wharfedale 750 and a few other brands, the proline is a rebadged player. This code will not damage your machine and will not lock on to one region it will work fine. The only problem i have found with the proline dvd1000 is the aspect ratio on the menu screen which seems to have a bug if you select 16:9 you get 4:3 full screen ,this is no big deal, also the new proline which has a yellow sticker on the box was supose to be bug free ,but it does now play the Matrix fine....

Proline Dvd 1050
Review of Proline DVD 1050 by
danny1462
Advantages: Great Price, DVD/ CD/ MP3/ KODAC JPEG
Disadvantages: Only Region 2 Codes, Scart Not Included.
...The DVD player is cheap £29.99 from ( www.comet.co.uk), Remote Control is Included.
Easy to use (no instructions needed) & supporting even MP3 Discs & JPEG Images ( Says that is compatible Only with Kodak Pictures but I have tested by putting a CDR with my JPEG Images from my Pc.
This DVD Player is good for the money, and even it is cheap has a lot of features that you can find in the remote control.
On the DVD player there is only 3 Buttons. (Play, Stop & Eject). All other features are on the Remote Control.
The size of this DVD Player is small, good for storage and has a Green Display Panel on the right corner.
The only bad thing is that will play only Region 2 PAL & NTSC DVD Disks. You need to buy also a Scart as company doesn’t supply any.
Overall a good product for people that want a simple and cheap DVD player.

Kenwood KDW243A Integrated Dishwasher
Review of Kenwood KDW243A by
adictivepie
Advantages: Triple A rated, 7 Programs, Cheap
Disadvantages: Limited top basket see review
...: Timer delyer for start so great for those on economy7 and dual electric tariffs, you dont have to wait up to start it
Quick Wash
Compared to Integrated Items below the kenwood is better because
Homark 249.99 @ Argos B Rated better as its AAA rated
Proline 199.99 @ Comet B Rated as above
Matsui 249.99 @ Currys B Rated as above
Compared to Freestanding
Zanussi ZDW321 269.99 @ Currys cheaper
Zanussi ZDW501 309.99 @ Currys far cheaper
Underpinnings
As we all know most of the big brands are now owned by other companies
Kenwood is part of the Hotpoint Matsui range, you can tell this by opening up the machines and looking for similarities in the trays and interior fittings infact the proline looked similar inside too
Size wise i will give it a bit of a thumbs down and up with the top basket in the low position you...

Cheap and Cheerful
Review of Proline DVD-1000 by
Big-Al
Advantages: Cheap, reasonable quality
Disadvantages: Ugly, poorly laid out remote
...I have had my Proline DVD1000 DVD player for almost 6 months now, and it has given no trouble at all, despite the low price (under £130!). It is not the best looking DVD player on the market (in fact, with the brushed gold finish, it may well be the worst looking DVD player!), but the picture and sound quality are far better than I had any right to expect at this price. Another bonus is that a simple code, entered once, allows playback of region 1 DVDs.
Apart from the looks of the machine, my only quibble is that the remote is badly laid out, but once I got used to it, it is not too bad.
In summary, I would recommend this player to anyone who wants to watch DVDs, but doesn't want to pay 50% to 500% more for a few percent improvement in sound and picture quality....

Proline 2000 Third Time Lucky
Review of Proline DVD 2000 by
catatonic
Advantages: Inexpensive, Good sound and picture quality
Disadvantages: brand name has a poor track record with regards to dvd!
...Proline dvd players, it has to be said, have had a distinctly shaky start! The first model had to be recalled when it wouldn't play The Matrix. The second, sprayed gold and supposedly bug free, recently came a cropper when it wouldn't play the Gladiator features disk. Having just invested my hard earned cash in the third edition I'm hoping, for both our sakes, it'll be a case of third time lucky!
Aesthetically speaking the Proline 2000 isn't the best looking bit of kit in this price bracket. Whilst Proline appear to have taken on board criticisms with the 1000 model the overall impression is still disappointing. The 2000 model is far smaller than its predecessor, ideal for a hi-fi unit, but on the downside less sturdy than it's sister. Gone too is the tacky gold finish, we now have a tacky silver finish! The window display and title...

A lot less bother than a sink full of dishes...
Review of Proline DWP5212 by
welshwickedone
Advantages: 12 place setting load capacity, 52dB noise level, more
Disadvantages: None as yet
...Proline DWP5212 Dishwasher.
About five months ago when my mothers Dishwasher broke, it was time to buy a replacement, which she decided would be the Proline DWP5212 full size Freestanding Dishwasher. At the same time, she was looking for a new machine I decided I would finally get around to purchasing a Dishwasher to make my life a little easier. I purchased a Proline PDW080 slimline dishwasher and we had them delivered at the same time. I purchased the PDW080 at the time, as my old house did not have the room to accommodate the Proline DWP5212. Since the purchases and use of the dishwashers though I have moved to a larger property which was able to accommodate the Proline DWP5212 and my mother decide that we would swap machines as she only needed a smaller dishwasher for her and my father.
Hence the fact...

Machine on a budget
Review of Proline DVD 2000 by
sarah14
Advantages: Great Price
Disadvantages: -
...Many people have been put off buying DVD players because of the expense, true they cost more than a video player, but they have a far superior playing quality and sound quality , no more lines across the screen or funny noises, and thier are a good choice of DVD rental films on the market.
When I started to look around for a DVD player I looked at all the options, but decided to go with an offer at our local comet store, where I purchused the Proline DVD2000 for £129.99 and a pack of 3 DVD titles as part of a special offer (free). The machine is smart looking quite well built (alougth the drawer is a little flimsey) and as yet I havn't had a film that won't play on it. I have heard from various people that the cheaper machine you purchuse, the less likely it is to reject a disc.
I must say that I have been really impressed...
