...i too had a bad experience with this firm and as a result did not want to renew my insurance with them. I too never received my insurance certificate etc and after several phone calls where they told me it was in the post, it suddenly clicked to them that they had the wrong address for me..can you believe this they forgot to put a door number. However much to my disgust i was charged £10 for the extra policy they sent me as a result of their incompetence. I did not renew with them this year but guess what - they sent me an email saying they have deducted £290 from my card for renewal. i called them up to complain & they told me as I had not called them to cancel renewal they will 'automatically renew the policy'. I never heard of this before and told the call center guy who said its their company policy and that i should read...

An average car insurance company

Advantages: Quite cheap, good customer service
Disadvantages: Big premium for a few months after moving

...I am now into my third year Churchill Car insurance. I\'ve never really had any problems with them and they are always competitvley priced. My renewal this year was expensive but I rang them up and they got it down by £50 so I stayed with them. My second year they gave me 30% no claims discount for one year and my thrid year they have given me a discount of even more. However, when I moved house I was charged a £150 premium for three months because I was living in a worse area, but I understand that it can\'t be helped. This year I am paying in installments for the first time and I am quite impressed that the APR is only 10%. Some other companies do it for free, but as it works out it's only around £60 for the convienience of paying monthly for me, which I think is worth it. They also gave me discount on my Green Flag...

More Than Just An Insurance Company!

Advantages: Huge Range Of Services, Value For Money, Great Service
Disadvantages: None At All

...Every year that time comes when I have to phone around to find out who wants to charge me what to re-insure my car for another 12 months. Every year I try all the top companies and all the little ones, I have had insurance with various different companies including the likes of Endsliegh, Tesco Insurance but keep coming back to one company, Direct Line. Since being with Direct Line I have had 3 different cars and with every car they come back with the cheapest insurance quote, and they allow me to pay it monthly. This is a bit of bonus as there is no way I could afford to pay out them amounts in one go. Although this year they were only just the cheapest, by about £30, this year with Tesco coming in a close second. Having had insurance with both these companies I knew pretty much about there insurance policies and felt that out...

Car Insurance

...When it comes to car insurance, i'm afraid i'm a bit lazy. Don't get me wrong, i do have insurance but i haven't got the time to shop around and find not just the cheapest quote but also value for money. I've been driving for 9 years now and even when i've bought a new car. i've just gone along with the same company. A friend of mine told me i was stupid and could be saving money by getting quotes from other companies. But i was settled with what i already had. I was paying them for insurance and breakdown cover and in the 9 years i've only had to call them out once when the wife accidently left the light on on her sunblind and flattened the battery. But it's not the wife's fault I hear you all shout! Anyway i moved last year to what i considered a better area when considering car crime and i also now had a garage to house...

...I have now been with churchill car insurance for nearly 2 yrs. Since that time whenever i have had to contact them for changing over my policy, changing car details etc etc, if i have been on a mobile depending on how busy they are at the time, they will ring you back. And they actually do ring you back whent hey say they will, mostly within minutes of ending the call. They are the friendliest company i know, and i have been with a few. They actually do their job and try their hardest to find you the best possible services that they have to offer, and 9 times out of 10 they are the cheapest as they try to beat any like for like quote. Also theyre policies dont go up!! They offer a range of policies:- Car, van and moterbike insurance which obviously depends on your no claims, new driver, type of car, vehicle, etc etc, plus online...

...In September (sorry I lied to you earlier, it was not December - must have had a blonde moment) of last year, I got my renewal for my car insurance from the AA, guess what, it had gone up drastically. Now like everyone else, I find the average motorist is being hit hard enough with increases in tax and fuel without having to pay out over the top for car insurance. My renewal quote was for £467.00 this was for fully comp, curtesy car, protected no claims, legal cover and and excess of £100.00. I know it's always best to shop around and that companies give better deals to new customers, so I decided to hit the keyboard and see what I could save by checking out prices on the internet. Well I expected to save some money, but not as much as Budget were offering, they quoted me for the same deal as I was getting but...

Cheapest insurer for an under 25.

Advantages: Cheapest by far for an under 25 year old.
Disadvantages: Minor policy restrictions.

...One year and one month ago I had my insurance revoked from Dial Direct after their system did not recognise the post-code for my new house I had just moved into. Obviously I started phoning all the 0800 numbers getting insurance quotes (since you must be insured by law!) - but alas, because most other insurance companies' systems could not find the new post-code I could not be insured through them either. From a limited number of insurance companies I took the quote from Churchill (which I had received via "insure direct"/Lloyds TSB). Their system had the ability to ignore the post-code since I could provide a postal address instead (hooray - common sense prevails..!). OK, lets get serious - car insurance!

Advantages: Extremely good cover - more than your average insurer
Disadvantages: Might not be the cheapest!

...a massive foothold in the market. EagleStar always had a good name for covering car insurance as it was one of the few companies that would insure young drivers. Zurich has continued with this tradition. Is the cover any good? Zurich provide a product that covers everything that you need. You may not realise it but a lot of policies that you are being sold may not be all that they seem. You may find that your personal accident benefits have been removed or that new car replacement does not exist. The policy that zurich provide has none of this. You get the full monty! They even throw in a certain amount of breakdown cover that can be topped up for a further fee. Obviously the various policies have variations but you will fine that the startard policy excess is £100 and will only be increased if a young driver is in charge...

churchill insurance

Advantages: lowest premium, choice of installments or pay in full
Disadvantages: high apr on payments, have to ask twice to get cheapest quote

...I have recently taken out a policy with churchill insurance and i have to give credit to churchill as they were able to provide me with the lowest quote out of all the insurance companies. i have tried over 50 companies in order to get my quote down to £430.95 with 4 years ncb. I was quite suprised that my quotes were coming out so high with 4 years ncd but i am under 25 and do own a 2001 registered car. i did try phoning churchill first of all and the gave me a quote in the region of £490. I then got a quote from their website and their quote came down by £60. I do feel a little disappointed that they could not quote me the lowest price on my first call, however this is a problem i have noticed with all insurance companies. My actual policy itself has the following excess. fire and theft £100 windscreen...
