Pru-ve me right: My first experience of insurance

Advantages: Award-winning customer service, freephone number for quotes/sales, optional breakdown cover, good quote
Disadvantages: No interest-free payment plans, not free to phone them when you are a customer

Anything below that is a good bet. Prudential were the last company on my list, the representative was very engaging and sold the policy well. He told me what I wanted to hear as I told him what he wanted to hear. Prudential apparantly like young drivers who have some NCB. The price quoted was under £300 with two named drivers on the policy, that was a £45 saving on my renewal price and I instantly gave the go ahead to set the policy up. ...There has been a lot in the press and TV recently about Egg, part of Prudential, and their internet banking service. In defence of Egg I must say that I have had an internet only account with them for over a year and have found the service to be very good. The web site itself is very easy to navigate and understand and has lots of good information. The account is kept up to date and I have never had any problem with my balance being incorrect etc. Hopefully no one has been into my account other than myself and Egg. I use the account for savings and have found it to be a good account with a reasonable interest rate. When I opened the account the procedure was very quick and easy....

...I have very mixed opinions of Egg. I first of all got an Egg Savings account and at the time they were offering the highest rate of interest on an 'instant access' account. I also though that the fact that Egg is owned by Prudential that it would at least have the relevant backing. I have made payemtns to/from my savings account without any problems, using the Internet Only option. However, I applied for a Credit Card a good few months back now and appear to have had nothing but problems with it. I have had several payments to my card go missing, transactions debited twice and interest added at the wrong rate. Probably anything that could have gone wrong with it - has done! When speaking to cusotmer services, either via e-mail or over the 'phone they appear very helpful and lots of promoses about resolving problems are...
