...Having owned all 3 of these consoles i feel i can write an honest review which will hopefully be useful as a guide of which machine to go for. I have reviewed each console in each separate section in terms of Graphics, Sound, Games, Design Extra. * Please note the technical specs may not be spot on but pretty much in the right region. ...Having had a PS1, I was keen to pre order a PS2. It arrived with four days to spare before Christmas. It came with Ridge racer V and Tekken Tag Tournament. First impressions were that I was impressed. The graphics are certainly a significant improvement on PS 1 but the games at this stage are, not surprisingly, expensive. The games themselves have slightly improved as there are more options available with them but the cost of setting up the new system is a lot for only a smallish improvement. I would recommend it as being better than the Dreamcast as there seems to be more variety in the games and the controllers have a better layout. ...I have to say I am a great fan of the playstation 2, my son has one and he loves to play it, as do I. Although I tend to limit the time he spends on it. I cant really find anything bad about the ps2, but lately it has been partly to blame for a few problems in my family, my younger brother who is 15 years old first got his when he was about 8 years old, he was over the moon, my mother also put a limit on the time he would spend on it. He was fine with this, he was`nt really a child who went out a lot so most of his time was spent on the playstation or having a chin wag with anyone who would listen, he was always very smart and sensible. I use this even to listen to audio CD's and watch movies.Yes, that's right you can also watch DVD's and listen to Audio CD's but not MP3 format cd's and dvd. Even so, the graphics of the games, the speed of game play, the ease of playing games with its Dual Shock 2 Analogue Joystick( even wireless is available) is just an amazing experience. ...The ps2 is a great console although it is almost10 years old. It has alot of features that anyone can use with ease. On it you can watch Movies, Play games and also play online with people around the world providing that you can internet access on it. there are a wide variety of games available for it and they are also quite cheap. The playstation itself can come quite cheap with prices starting at £40 in some shops. You might also want to get some accessories for it such as the vertical stand, the eyetoy camera and the DVD remote if you want one. The only bad points about the playstation i would say are the fact that it is quite fragile and would break easily....

...I picked my PS2 up from Currys just before Christmas (I must be one of the lucky few). So what do you get for your money (300 quid)? A great looking Games Machine and DVD player all in one. A single dual shock controller (joypad). A cable to connect it to the Telly. What do you then need to buy? Games (obviously) at around 40 quid each, they are not cheap.
