Advantages: OK space to save data, it is vital if you plan to play on your PS2!!
Disadvantages: Maybe not much saving room for extreme gamers!

Slim Shady Playstation 2

Advantages: sleek new modern design, lightweight, built in ethernet port
Disadvantages: the lid where you ut the games in is a little flimsy

...the slimline is easier to the eye than the eye-sore that was the original playstation 2 console. I have read on the internet where people's slimline playstation 2 has over heated and broke, but the slimline has plenty of vents. The size of the slimline is almost as small as a hardcover book, therefore it easy to carry around whilst on the move. The system is equipped with an integrated Ethernet port for network gaming, unlike the standard playstation 2 where you had to buy the ethernet port, which cost about £20. The slimline still has two usb ports, which is ideal for plugging memory pens into, for saving all your photographs of cars that you have taken on gran turismo 4. HAS THE PLAYSTATION 2 BEEN ON THE ATKINS DIET!

Advantages: Smaller, quieter, sleaker
Disadvantages: Two controllers instead of one would be nice

...longer possible to fit a hard drive into the PS2 slimline but unless you play online games like FFXII or SocomII this should not present a major problem. Also worth noting is the fact that there are two MagicGate? ports for memory cards so you can still save your position in any games to come back to at a later time. Another smart move is to have an internal Ethernet port for network game play fitted; now you simply have to load the Sony network access disk and link your PS2 to a router to enjoy fun and games with other like minded folk. But why Sony have not included the network access disk in the box is beyond me, perhaps it is to ensure you register your PS2 as you cannot get the disk without doing so. Finally, back to the size of the console and in particular the reduction its thickness which is staggering. The old model is 2mm shy of 8cm...

...The ps2 is a great console although it is almost10 years old. It has alot of features that anyone can use with ease. On it you can watch Movies, Play games and also play online with people around the world providing that you can internet access on it. there are a wide variety of games available for it and they are also quite cheap. The playstation itself can come quite cheap with prices starting at £40 in some shops. You might also want to get some accessories for it such as the vertical stand, the eyetoy camera and the DVD remote if you want one. The only bad points about the playstation i would say are the fact that it is quite fragile and would break easily....

...THE SOFTWARE The PlayStation 2 is the best console of it's generation and arguably the best of all time, with thousands of great games and a large back catalogue of PS1 games, you can always pick up a good game for a bargain. Just because the newer PlayStation 3 is out, doesn't mean that you shouldn't buy a PS2, Its at a cheap price and would cost you 150 pounds to buy the console, some games and get it hooked up online, whereas next gen consoles could cost up to 500 pounds (excluding the Wii, which would take about 250). What I'm saying is, it may be "last gen" but it's great, fun and best of all; Cheap! The PlayStation 2 is a must buy for hardcore and casual gamers alike, if you are casual, play EyeToy Play (camera and game costs 20 pounds these days).
