Knowledge + Philips PSA 615 = Redundant iPod

Advantages: Small but Strong, 6GB capacity, Cheap, Reliable
Disadvantages: File Organisation - Minor Fault in a Great Product

...I have owned a Philips PSA 615 for nearly three years and in that time it has provided me with excellent service. For those readers whom just want a general idea this player is utterly reliable, sturdy for sports use and general everyday rigour while having a generous capacity of 6GB. It is 7cm across but strong and feels well made. Entirely recommended especially at £79 which I bought it for via amazon marketplace. Perfect for the gym rat in your life.

Advantages: Tiny form factor, simple operation.
Disadvantages: Expensive, maybe a little "too" simple.

...The first thing you notice about this little player is the way it looks. In my mind, the word for that is "fantastic." I'm a huge fan of nicely designed hardware (as anyone could tell by now, considering my glowing comments about the iPod . . .) and this is certainly a nice piece of work. It has a sporty look to it (appropriate considering it bears the Nike "swoosh,") and is rubbery in all the right places. It pretty much looks like all the other PSA players (I like their design too!) but, like the 128MAX, it has an LCD which is critical. Some of the earlier models of this type had no display on them (REALLY no frills . . .) and that was a deal-breaker for me. I'm way to obsessive to go without any kind of display (more about the display later, as right now I'm only addressing appearance.) The other great thing about this device...

No CD cd player

Advantages: skip free music while on the move

...Well mp3 now is being used to inspire athletes to work harder and make for better training sessions, and now Phillips in conjunction with Nike are bringing it to the people. The psa Play 60 is basicaly an mp3 player that receives music from your pc. All the relevant soft ware to perform this task is included and even has a limited amount of music for you to try it with, the best option is to just convert your cds to mp3 and listen to them while on the move. Its good being able to listen to music while out on a run or my fave cross coubntry mountain biking. Not once will the music skip and try and find itself, the only drawback is the 32meg storage limit, thats not even a full album if you have the mp3s at 128kbps which is the standard for most mp3s.
