Advantages: Good features, music, videos, internet access, good availibility of games Disadvantages: Not as advanced as newer consoles/gadgets
...The Sony PSP was revolutionary when it was first released, it holds music, videos, images and allows internet access whereever a valid internet connection is available. The screen is a good size for handheld games console (4.3 inches) and has a processor speed of 333 MHz.. It was released in 2005 and therefore has dramatically decreased in price since then (consoles always depreciate in value due to the improvements and advancements in technology) and can now be bought for as cheap as £35. Many games are available for the Sony Playstation Portable including favourites like Grand Theft Auto and Fifa and my personal favourite Fight Night. It has a battery life of between 6 and 10 hours (depending on what processes are happening on it) until it needs charging.
The graphics are impressive as the PSP has the same graphical quality as...
Advantages: Great shape, Easy to use, Good Functions Disadvantages: Faults with the system
...The PSP was brought as a birthday present, I’m not an Avid gamer and didn’t really intend to become one, So it was without much enthusiasm I opened the box.
I was soon gripped though on playing with the buttons and the games that came with it, Pretty soon the PSP never left my hands, I found it easy to use and all the functions were simple, even for someone as simple as me. The battery life on my PSP was fantastic and it kept me entertained for many hours on long journeys, I found the DVD Quality to be good although the DVDs themselves can be slightly pricey. I owned the PSP For 2 weeks before I found any problems with it, I was in the middle of a standard game, and it stopped working, It came up with an error saying the Disc could not be read. Nothing worked to fix it, It hadn’t been dropped or anything - I was mighty disappointed...
Advantages: Super features Disadvantages: Graphics-average
...Introduction
The PSP (playstation portable) is a unique games console, which allows you to walk about with it anywhere. Also, it includes music, videos, gaming, photos and internet just like the PS3. WOW! It has a very stylish body, which has an analog stick to move your people/players move easier. This has recently been updated to look more sleek, thin and most of all cooool! The newly released games are still included for the PSP and the quality is astounding for such a small device. Another feature is that you can buy a certain camera to put on the PSP so you can snap away anywhere, without having to buy a really expensive one. The quality of the pic is exceptional, since the device was not made for such an advanced feature. If you and your mate have the same game you can also play against each other on that game. The feature is...
Advantages: Great portability for movies, music and games Disadvantages: Japanese version has wireless problems in Europe
...As you would expect from Sony, the PSP is a great piece of kit. I took it on holiday with me equiped with a few games, movies and plenty of music, for those tedious plane journeys and for relaxing by the pool.
The pack was bought on ebay from Japan for £120 including delivery, so it has the better screen version as compared to the USA. Just the basic setup of the console, the battery pack, headphones and charger/power supply, complete with 32Meg memory card and spiderman2 the movie. When it arrived, I added a 1Gig memory card, a few games, movies and a battery pack to extend the life whilst travelling, ( you get between 3 -4 hours use from it's own battery, so I recommend a backup, especially for days out). The console does however play European games and UMD movies, so you'll have no difficulty buying them.
I tried setting up...
Advantages: Technologically, the PSP has always been ahead of the pack, and the 3000 just takes it further. I Disadvantages: Where are the games? Looking at Sony's PSP website, there are only 5 games scheduled for 2009 - an
...I love my PSP, but I'm still playing games I bought 2 or 3 years ago for my original PSP-1000. For a new user, especially, the lack of new games is enough to make anyone worry about investing in one.
The 4.3-inch LCD wide screen remains, and it's been tweaked. Sony says the new screen now delivers better color reproduction, reduced glare, and reduced "ghosting" on high-motion scenes. When compared with the 2000, the PSP 3000 does, indeed, deliver better color vibrancy (you can toggle between "wide" and "standard" color in the options to see the difference). As for glare reduction: we didn't find there to be a huge difference. Don't expect to play in direct sunlight, for instance. But you might have better luck with fewer distractions from indoor light sources....
...The Playstation Portable is something you must Have!!
Not exactly for the gaming though.
Yeah Sure, You can play games and that is what the console is mainly intended for, but about 5% of my PSP usage is gaming.
This is a must have for Internet Lovers! If you have a wireless router, get this! - Especially if your a Teen.
If you Have MySpace or Bebo, this is great! Talk to your friends while your in bed, no £500 laptop needed. And its great just for a quick Internet Surf.
Depending on your memory card, you can hold alot of music and pictures! I have 1GB memory card so my PSP is a Fun-Station! =]
Graphics capability
The graphics on the Sony PSP is good for a portable game device, but dont expect something that will take your breath away!
Sound Capability
The Earphones are shockingly quiet, and the speakers...
Advantages: A lot of kit, Great graphical potential Disadvantages: expensive, easy dead pixels
...I can remember the day that the PSP came out in the UK and my older brother being one of the first 500 to get one and register. 8 months after that I bought mine and still use it just as much if not more.
The PSP is an advanced piece of technology combining: Handheld Gaming, an MP3 player, and MP4 player, A Digital Camera (Not Included) and an online browser all that is needed is a phone which there have been rumors of.
The PSP is a great gaming device whilst the list of games many will enjoy are small but then the target age group for the PSP is 16 - 30 year olds as not many parents would trust a 10 year old with such a piece of expensive kit. The games are given a lot of graphical power destroying the DS's and whilst it has less graphical power than the sony Playstation 2 the smaller screen makes up for that.
The sound quality...
Advantages: diverse range of multimedia functions Disadvantages: can be compared to a nintendo DS :)
...The best handheld ever made. I wouldnt class this as a sole game system. I would describe this as a multitasking multimedia device.
Basic features in genuine sony firmware include.
Ability to watch video and DVDs from either the memory stick or a UMD.
Listen to music straight from the memory card, Whilst watching a range of visual effects on screen.
Play a range of new games for the platform currently about 760 games avaliable for this console worldwide.
Store your pictures and view them in slideshow.
This is just the start, if you download custom firmware made by enthusiasts you can download all PSP games to your memory card as well a PSX games. You can also download homebrew applications such as emulators which can play classic games such as sega master system and super nintendo....
Advantages: portable, smooth graphics Disadvantages: the aparent 'battery life' issue.
...I got my psp from ebay, on import, its the japanese version.
because its the japanese version this means that it can play reigon 2 umds!
so, its light, its smaller than i expected, it feeels good, the graphics are great! what else?
the main thing about the psp is that you can take top of the range games, out into the world. this gives the nintendo ds a contender that is imposible to compete with.
I have played both the nintendo ds and the psp, and the nintendo ds canot actualy toutch the psp. so if you where thinking about getting a nintendo ds, then think again and save your money nd buy the psp.
the game range for the psp is intense, the japanese main launch title was the 'ridge racer' psp version, much like its big console counterpart the graphics are groundbreaking, especialy for a handheld system.
the big games...
Advantages: Great Graphics, Fun and stylish, can hold upto 500+ MP3'S Disadvantages: High Price, Fewer game choice, Few small problems
...FIRSTLY...
First off the PSP is the best handheld console out there at the moment. Mine rarely leaves my side as it can play music, store pictures, play games, surf the internet wirelessly, play movies and many more things. So if you are determined to own a hand held console the PSP is the right choice to make...If you have the money.
PRICE
The price of the PSP and its accessories have dropped alot since the inital release so now is a good time to get one. When the PSP was launced just over a year ago now it was around £180-£250 depending on how many extras you wanted. The Memory cards have also come down in price, almost by half (The 1GB ((gigabyte) memory card was about £80 - £100 but is now around £50)) as have the UMD movies.
GAMEPLAY
There are many UMD videos avaliable for the PSP with more titles on the way so there...
