...The Sony PSP is a gaming device made for on the go gamers. There is a very wide range of games you can play on the PSP, and these mainly consist of previous PlayStation 2 games such as Grand Theft Auto Vice City and other classic games. The PSP is set out like a PlayStation controller but with a 4.3 inch screen in the middle. The console itself is a great size and does not weight very much. The screen also is very good - it delivers a clear picture and depending on the game, not bad graphics. The games are stored on a UMD disk which stands for Universal Media Disks which consist of 1.8GB. ...I love my PSP, but I'm still playing games I bought 2 or 3 years ago for my original PSP-1000. For a new user, especially, the lack of new games is enough to make anyone worry about investing in one.
The 4.3-inch LCD wide screen remains, and it's been tweaked. Sony says the new screen now delivers better color reproduction, reduced glare, and reduced "ghosting" on high-motion scenes. When compared with the 2000, the PSP 3000 does, indeed, deliver better color vibrancy (you can toggle between "wide" and "standard" color in the options to see the difference). As for glare reduction: we didn't find there to be a huge difference. Don't expect to play in direct sunlight, for instance. But you might have better luck with fewer distractions from indoor light sources....

First off the PSP is the best handheld console out there at the moment. Mine rarely leaves my side as it can play music, store pictures, play games, surf the internet wirelessly, play movies and many more things. So if you are determined to own a hand held console the PSP is the right choice to make...If you have the money.
PRICE
The price of the PSP and its accessories have dropped alot since the inital release so now is a good time to get one. When the PSP was launced just over a year ago now it was around £180-£250 depending on how many extras you wanted. The Memory cards have also come down in price, almost by half (The 1GB ((gigabyte) memory card was about £80 - £100 but is now around £50)) as have the UMD movies.
GAMEPLAY
There are many UMD videos avaliable for the PSP with more titles on the way so there...
Advantages: Fabulous 16.77 million colour screen, MP3 and MP4 player, Soon to come accessories, 802.11b/g Wireless LAN, much much more. Disadvantages: Memory Stick Duos aren't the cheapest memory medium around, but this is easily overcome with, eBay!

Since my production of this review, there has been a fabulous revalation, (spelling?), in the PSP world, and that is a Sony Made internet browser and many more in the software update, 2.0. This further extends this incredible machines ability to be a true multimedia machine to include the whole World Wide Web. I have tried and tested V2.0 and its great, you can also set images as wall papers, and the browser is fab.

First of all, I would like to say that this product is not available in the UK until about September or October as Sony do not have enough parts to launch yet, but the UK launch is long awaited for the whole world, as once it is released in the UK, it will be worldwide, and many new software upgrades, (rumoured IE explorer), and physical accessories are expected by owners...

...The PSP was brought as a birthday present, I?m not an Avid gamer and didn?t really intend to become one, So it was without much enthusiasm I opened the box.
I was soon gripped though on playing with the buttons and the games that came with it, Pretty soon the PSP never left my hands, I found it easy to use and all the functions were simple, even for someone as simple as me. The battery life on my PSP was fantastic and it kept me entertained for many hours on long journeys, I found the DVD Quality to be good although the DVDs themselves can be slightly pricey. I owned the PSP For 2 weeks before I found any problems with it, I was in the middle of a standard game, and it stopped working, It came up with an error saying the Disc could not be read. Nothing worked to fix it, It hadn?t been dropped or anything - I was mighty disappointed...

...The Sony PSP was revolutionary when it was first released, it holds music, videos, images and allows internet access whereever a valid internet connection is available. The screen is a good size for handheld games console (4.3 inches) and has a processor speed of 333 MHz.. It was released in 2005 and therefore has dramatically decreased in price since then (consoles always depreciate in value due to the improvements and advancements in technology) and can now be bought for as cheap as £35. Many games are available for the Sony Playstation Portable including favourites like Grand Theft Auto and Fifa and my personal favourite Fight Night. It has a battery life of between 6 and 10 hours (depending on what processes are happening on it) until it needs charging.

...In my opinion this is one of the best gaming consoles out there at the moment due to it's graphics and game quality. The psp is a very versatile console with its inbuilt mp3 player, you can view videos and movies, view photos play games, go online and it has internet explorer.
The gaming on the psp in my eyes is phenomenal with so much attention to detail it is almost real. There are a very wide range of games on psp of almost every genre. Some of the games on the psp have the option of 2 player or to go online and play other people from around the globe.
The inbuilt mp3 player is a big thumbs up for the console even though the speakers are weak the sound quality is good. the only way of transferring music onto the psp is that you either must have a usb adapter or an internet connection. The music facility is really good.

Yeah Sure, You can play games and that is what the console is mainly intended for, but about 5% of my PSP usage is gaming.
This is a must have for Internet Lovers! If you have a wireless router, get this! - Especially if your a Teen.
If you Have MySpace or Bebo, this is great! Talk to your friends while your in bed, no £500 laptop needed. And its great just for a quick Internet Surf.
Depending on your memory card, you can hold alot of music and pictures! I have 1GB memory card so my PSP is a Fun-Station! =]

...When i bought a sony play station portable (psp) i felt it was one of the best choices i have ever made. I say this because the play station portable is a technological masterpeice.
When i recived my play station portable in the post i wasn't sure whether or not it would satisfy expetation, but IT BLEW ME AWAY with all the games, movies, music, photos and INTERNET. At first i just played on the games completing them as normal but then internet came into the equation and gaming as i knew it changed forever. Ad hoc mode (local gaming) this means that you can connect with friends from a close range, on most games you get more game modes in Ad hoc mode. Then there is the new mother of gaming Infrastructure mode which allows you to play with whoever you want to around the globe.
