The PSP Slim, an amazing console
Advantages: compact, MP3 & MP4 playback, huge variety of games, lightweight
Disadvantages: sound could be a little louder - can be hard to hear if used in crowded environment
...The PSP Slim is an amazing hand held console, without a doubt ,the best hand held on the market at the moment. It has many features including MP3 & MP4 playback, Internet capabilities, USB port, camera software (although the camera add on is not included with the psp), abilty to save, and many other functions. The PSP has a huge variety of games available, something to cater for all tastes; some of the popular titles include Tomb Raider Anniversary, The Sims Castaway, Silent Hill Origins and The Simpsons.
My advice is to not buy a PSP from a store, but to buy one online from E-Bay in order to obtain a PSP that has been uploaded with custom firmware. This will then upen up whole new gaming capabilites, enabling you to be able to download and play a variety of homebrew games by saving them to the PSP's memory stick. It will also allow...

Playstation Portable (PSP) Hand held games console
Advantages: Beautiful graphics for the size. Responsive Buttons. Not restricted to games
Disadvantages: Relatively expensive. To protect against scratches etc additional expense required.
...I've made a point of not reading any of the previous reviews on the PSP so hopefully my review comes across as unique.
I'm a bit of a gaming addict - If there was Consoles Anonomous as a help group I'd have to attend daily. You'd think at 40 I'd have grown up by now but no such luck :)
So it will come as no surprise that when it was launched in September I was one of those sad cases who went to town at MIDNIGHT to pick up my preordered PSP.
For the technically minded who just want to know measurements/specs etc I will post these at the end of my review.
So after 2 months of use what do I think?
Well primarily the PSP is a games console so I'll cover that first.
I can't really fault it. The display is bright and clear and it's much more enjoyable than the display you get from a Game Boy Advance machine.
It really is...

PSP is still best portable game console
Advantages: Graphics,sound,internet,radio(and other features)
Disadvantages: none
...I have bought a PSP fat(red) as soon as it came out. I didn't buy it for the games as i already owned a PC and PS2 but for the WiFi and portable music/video player.
I bought it for £200 on ebay(new) and was very staisfied when it arrived. i connected it to my PC and found that it was very easy to use.
I mainly used it on plane- and car journeys .
Now i am still using the psp for watching movies, listening to music, surfing the web and from time to time playing a racing game on it.
About two weeks ago i have bought the new Nintendo DSi and found that even though it is newer the psp still has better graghics and features( eg. radio demo downloads music WiFi etc).
The best thing about the PSP is its internet browser. You can open any website, download movies and videos and even chat with friends on facebook and msn.
The battery holds...

Sony PSP - The most diverse handheld console ever
Advantages: Amazing graphics and sound, lots of cool features and as the name describes it; portable.
Disadvantages: Dissapointing range of hi-profile games. Screen quite scratch-prone without a protective case
...Sony's first handheld is technology at it's best. It's now available in 11 colours and it has power somewhere between the Playstation and PS2, which, for a handheld, is utterly amazing. It has wireless multi-player providing the other PSP has the same game, and some games are turn-based, so (providing you trust who you're playing with) you simply take turns on the games.
Graphically, the PSP, for a console of it's size, is brilliant. If you've ever played a Playstation 1, think of the graphics of the most visually pleasing game you ever played on it, better it slightly, and shrink it down to handheld. It's not as sharp as the Playstation 2, but to expect that from a handheld console would be crazy.
There is a reasonable choice of games, though personally I don't think most developers realise the full potential of the console, as most...

PSP Hand Held Console
Advantages: Easy to hold and play, Small for easy storage
Disadvantages: Games are very expensive
...The PSP is a great invention, its small & light to hold, you can surf the internet, download music & videos to it. The only problems i found were the games cost alot of money, & the games & videos i downloaded i never have been able to locate on my PSP. Some of the games take a long time loading & all the extra accessories to improve your PSP can be really expensive too.
There are 2 types of PSP packages you can buy. The PSP Value pack which comes with an AC Adapter, Battery Pack, Headphones with Remote Control attached to them, Memory Stick Duo 32MB, Wrist Strap, Pouch, Cloth, UMD Software & Printed Materials.
The GIGA PACK which basically contains the same as the Value Pack but instead of a 32MB Memory Stick it has a 1GB Memory Stick.
I have the Value Pack.
The Battery slots into the back of your psp on the right hand...

Sony PSP
Advantages: Clear screen, lots of features, easy to use and a large range of games and movies.
Disadvantages: Can't be used with strong light and quite easy to damage/scratch
...The Sony PSP is a gaming device made for on the go gamers. There is a very wide range of games you can play on the PSP, and these mainly consist of previous PlayStation 2 games such as Grand Theft Auto Vice City and other classic games. The PSP is set out like a PlayStation controller but with a 4.3 inch screen in the middle. The console itself is a great size and does not weight very much. The screen also is very good - it delivers a clear picture and depending on the game, not bad graphics. The games are stored on a UMD disk which stands for Universal Media Disks which consist of 1.8GB. As well as buying games on the UMD disks, you can also buy popular films such as Spiderman and watch them on the go.
Not only is the PSP a great gaming and video playback device, but it can also be used as an MP3 player, a photo viewer and an internet...

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Advantages: Great multiplayer fun, lots to do
Disadvantages: Slightly Repetetive
...The Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has been with us for a while now, and it hasn't been too badly received either amongst the Wii-mote waving, button bashing members of the public out there, so now that the DS version has finally arrived, should these same gamers still be as excited as they were the first time around?
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the DS is certainly not short on features, 16 playable characters have all been included, each of which are split into four categories such speed, skill, power and the all rounder's, therefore you can choose which characters you would prefer to use for each event based on their ability. The game also offers plenty of choice when it comes to events, these range from sprinting, swimming and cycling to more specialist events such as fencing and gymnastics...

magical PSP
Advantages: Super features
Disadvantages: Graphics-average
...Introduction
The PSP (playstation portable) is a unique games console, which allows you to walk about with it anywhere. Also, it includes music, videos, gaming, photos and internet just like the PS3. WOW! It has a very stylish body, which has an analog stick to move your people/players move easier. This has recently been updated to look more sleek, thin and most of all cooool! The newly released games are still included for the PSP and the quality is astounding for such a small device. Another feature is that you can buy a certain camera to put on the PSP so you can snap away anywhere, without having to buy a really expensive one. The quality of the pic is exceptional, since the device was not made for such an advanced feature. If you and your mate have the same game you can also play against each other on that game. The feature is...

The PSP Slim
Advantages: Portable eassy to carry,
Disadvantages: Read Review
...Let me clear this up...
The PSP Slim does not have a touch screen.
it is essentially the old PSP with a few a few minor changes. These are the changes:
It can store game data in the cache so the PSP doesn't consistently have to access the UMD, which speeds up load times.
The UMD drive is no longer the springloaded type, and is now like a drawer.
The memory stick panel is now a pull-out area.
The Slim has video out, and and transmit video to a TV. Games appear in a letterbox format.
The Slim has a modified earphone jack, to enable video out.
USB charging is now possible. It takes about two hours, 20 minutes to charge with AC and five with USB
The first units are sold with firmware 3.60.
It does not have a built-in camera, or a printer, or an extra analog stick, or FlashDrive compatibility or xray or any other crap that you may...

God of war, and God of psp games!
Advantages: Graphics, sound gameplay, storyline
Disadvantages: none
...I am fairly new to the world of the PSP, but know enough about the world of gaming to understand what it takes to create a really great game. Now when it comes to third person action games, there has only ever been one for me. Never before did I think that anything could rival the resident evil series. That is, until I made one of the best purchases of my life.
God of war is a series of games that had been making waves on standard consoles, and I thought that it would be a good place to start my PSP journey. The only title that has been released so far for the handheld, is chains of olympus. It is, more or less, a prequel to what has gone on in the other games. The main character is Kratos, the ghost of Sparta, who pledged himself as a champion to the gods. He became the god of war. The gods gave him power and strength beyond that...
